1961 Fender Vibrolux Vintage Tube Amp Brownface Pre-CBS 1x12 Combo, 6G11 Circuit

Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Vibrolux in excellent condition and in good working order. This rare 1×12 “Brownface” version of the Vibrolux is a bridge between the Tweed and Blackface models in both specs and tone, with a glassy, touch sensitive quality, robust cleans, and rich overdrive characteristics when you dime it out. Pushing 35 all tube watts through a vintage Oxford alnico 12LN speaker, there’s plenty to love about the versatility and tone offered by this Fender. The amp has plenty of clean headroom and the sweet sag of a tube rectifier, and when pushed above 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly and cascade into sweet overdrive with just enough bite. The bias-based tremolo circuit also has a very strong, thumping pulse that’s notably deeper than later Fender circuits, with a wide range of speeds. The circuit is freshly serviced and largely original, retaining the original Schumacher output transformer and choke which both date to mid-1961. The power transformer is a properly spec’d replacement for this amp with a blank black bell cover. Many of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp and an integral part of the sweetness and clarity of the circuit. All of the stock pots are intact as well (dating to’61) with largely original solder joints and cloth covered wire. The power supply has been recapped, and the bias cap also has a small trim pot piggybacked on it to perfectly dial in the bias of the matched pair of vintage small bottle USA-made 6L6 power tubes. The amp has also been fitted with a modern three-prong power cable. The preamp tubes are a mix of modern and vintage valves from the likes of Sylvania and RCA. The speaker is the right make and model for this amplifier (Oxford 12LN) and era-correct, although it dates a bit earlier than the amp with a code on the edge of the frame which translates to 1957. Cosmetically, this amp would look great in a studio, with original rough brown tolex and wheat grillcloth. The leather handle is a modern replacement, as is the upper back panel, while the lower back panel is original. The faceplate retains all of the original brown barrel knobs. This Vibrolux is a rare, thoroughly serviced, and largely original vintage Pre-CBS Fender amp that’s ready for stage and studio use. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. One pair of Heathkit W-5M in working condition. The testing performed was the bare minimum to confirm whether working or non-working and lasted less than a few minutes. I put a pair of 5881 tubes into each and ramped up line voltage on a variac. The results of that brief test are below. Amp 1: played music at 80V line voltage and above. At 80V it drew. 5A of line current. At 90V it drew an amp of line current. No further testing was done. Amp 2: played music at 80V line voltage and above. At 100V it drew. At 120V it drew. 75 amp of line current. No output tubes are included with this listing. Both amps have the tubes shown in the photos. These are a good candidate for a restoration this winter. The tests show that some parts are out of spec but that all of the iron is performing as expected. Both have the more desirable Peerless 16309 nickel core output transformers. Plenty of information about these amps is available online and repairs parts are readily available from a variety of sources. These are offered in as-is, as-pictured condition for parts, repair or restoration. The item “Vintage Heathkit W-5M tube amp pair Williamson circuit” is in sale since Sunday, October 13, 2019. 1959 Fender Deluxe Tweed Vintage Tube Amplifier 5E3 Circuit, Jensen P12R

Up for sale, a 1959 Fender Deluxe in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A golden era narrow panel tweed amp with an incredibly detailed and dynamic range of tones, this amp is loaded with a full compliment of vintage tubes. At low volumes this Deluxe can deliver sparkling cleans that are round and powerful, with two distinctly voiced channels that overdrive beautifully. There’s plenty of rich roar and sizzle on tap when the amp is pushed to its max, and the single tone knob has ample range for sculpting the low end or adding treble zing. Especially when connecting the two channels with a small jumper 1/4 cable, the interactive pair of Volume controls can dial in everything from fully saturated snarl to particularly sweet, buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite that you often times can’t coax out of any other Tweed circuit. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals and different guitars, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using your volume knob to coax clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob. The circuit is virtually untouched, with original transformers, undisturbed solder joints, and CTS pots that date to the 6th week of 1959. Of course all of the famed yellow Astron capacitors are present in the preamp as well, giving the amp a certain sweetness that no modern cap can match. The power amp has been professionally recapped, and the new F&T capacitors are fitted in the original Minimite sleeves for a clean, original look. The tubes include a matched pair of Serviceman 6V6s with a General Electric 5Y3 rectifier and USA-made valves in the preamp too. The original gray two-prong power cable is also present. The stock Jensen P12R alnico 12 speaker is present and has a clean teal frame, stock bell cover and Jensen label. On the edge of the frame, the speaker has a 220847 date code for the 47th week of 1958. The tube chart is intact and extremely clean, with paper that is barely faded, crisp corners, and an “IC” code, dating the amp to March of 1959 (the latest date on the amp). The chrome on the chassis is particularly clean, with all of the original white lettering present on the faceplate, along with stock chicken head knobs. Even the original handle is included and unbroken with only a bit of fraying on the ends. The original tweed is intact and notably well kept, with only minor wear on the corners, and a bit of light staining and a stray cigarette burn or two on the top. The back panels are modern replacements, carefully aged to match the original tweed on the enclosure. This is a remarkably clean and stock 1959 Tweed Deluxe that will please discerning collectors and serious studio players alike! Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Up for sale, a 1955 Fender Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Few circuits are more desired and emulated than the narrow panel Tweed 5E3, and this first-year narrow panel model delivers everything you’d expect from a classic and well cared for amp from the last iteration of the Tweed line. Incredibly dynamic and harmonically rich, the Deluxe can be glassy and clear at low volumes, but for most players the magic is in this amp’s overdrive capabilities. Especially when connecting the two channels with a small jumper 1/4 cable, the interactive pair of Volume controls can dial in everything from fully saturated roar and snarl, to the particular sweet buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite that you often times can’t coax out of any other Tweed circuit. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals and different guitars, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using your volume knob to coax clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob. The preamp is very original and only maintained as strictly necessary, balancing originality and functionality. The original Stackpole pots (dating to the 3rd week of’55) and carbon comp resistors are intact, as well as all of the original red dynamite Astron tone caps. The power amp has been professionally recapped as well, and the new caps have been sleeved in the original Mighty Midget wrappers for a seamless vintage look. The amp is loaded with a combination of newer and vintage valves, and all tubes have been tested and work optimally. The speaker is an era-correct Jensen P12Q alnico 12 speaker with a clean teal frame and Jensen sticker. This speaker dates to 1962, and features a new speaker harness with cloth covered wire and Switchcraft 1/4 jack. The other most pertinent date code is the “EJ” stamp on the very clean tube chart, which translates to October of’55. The serial number stamped on the chassis also matches the hand-serialized tube chart. The chrome on the chassis is quite clean, with minimal pitting and the original white silkscreen text present along with stock chicken head knobs. In similar condition, the original tweed covering and oxblood grillcloth show only light wear on the edges of the enclosure, with modest ambering of the lacquer on the tweed, and some requisite minor scuffs and corner wear. Both back panels are modern replacements courtesy of MojoTone, carefully aged to match the original tweed on the rest of the amp. This Deluxe is an example that will satisfy collectors and serious players alike, and the amp has recently been given a clean bill of health, ready for your next gig or studio session. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 1959 Fender Champ in excellent condition and in perfect working order, freshly serviced and complete with a full vintage tube set. Simple, elegant and clean enough to satisfy collectors and serious players alike, this vintage Champ boasts its original lacquered tweed and hallowed 5F1 circuit. It doesn’t get much more pure than the Champ, and this studio favorite delivers freakishly dynamic and glassy pure tube tone that can go from clean to fully saturated overdrive with a twist of the single knob. This particular Champ has been well cared for over the decades and is stocked with the original Oxford 8 speaker. The circuit has just been serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, with new filter caps sleeved in the original Minimite wrappers (all original caps included) The preamp retains the original yellow Astron tone capacitors. Both transformers are original, and the chassis itself boasts an extremely clean chrome faceplate with all of the original white silkscreen lettering. The original gray two-prong power cable is still installed as well. The original Stackpole pot dates to the 30th week of 1959, and the Oxford speaker dates to the 43rd week of the same year. Both the speaker frame and chassis have an “IK” stamp, which translates to November of 1959. The tubes are all vintage valves including a Tung Sol 6V6 power tube. Cosmetically, the original lacquered tweed has ambered considerably, with some minor scuffs and wear around the lower right corner on the face of the enclosure in particular, but overall the tweed looks particularly great and uniformly aged, with original nailed in feet and even the original leather handle! Both back panels are original as well as the baffle, which retains the original oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe. 1967 Fender Deluxe Reverb Blackface Vintage Tube Amp 1x12 AB763 Circuit with ftsw

Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb features a 100% original circuit. Stocked with fresh 6V6 power tubes and an assortment of new and vintage preamp tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp has a clear and dynamic sound, delivering sparkling cleans that are a great effects pedal platform. The amp starts to saturate with smooth tube overdrive after about 5 on the volume dial, cascading into rich, lightly compressed crunch as you push the volume to 10. The Reverb is very lush with a long decay, and the tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three-dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit is 100% original and untouched, right down to the original filter caps and two-prong power cable. The preamp is loaded with the full compliment of the original blue Ajax molded capacitors, and all of the original Schumacher transformers are present, with date codes spanning late 1966 and early’67. The CTS pots date back to the 32nd week of’66 and the tube chart is intact with an “QH” date code which translates to August of 1967. The Oxford 12L6 speaker is a vintage-spec replacement which dates to 1965 with the original blue foil Fender label on the magnet and a fresh recone. Cosmetically, the amp is very original overall, with stock smooth black tolex and new aged silver sparkle grillcloth on the original baffle. The tolex is remarkably clean and all of the original hardware is present including the chassis straps, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), corners, and raised Fender logo on the baffle. The original faceplate also shows sparingly little wear with bold graphics and stock witch hat knobs. This is a very original and well kept example of one of Fender’s most famous Blackface amps, complete with the original two-button footswitch. These speakers have 1976 date codes, and are the correct stock factory 10s found in most Vibrolux’s of the era. The tube chart is clean and intact with crisp edges. The output transformer dates to early 1969, while the power transformer and choke date back to’68. The CTS pots date to late 1968 as well. The circuit is clean and well maintained, having been professionally recapped, with new bypass caps in the preamp as well. The brown molded tone caps are intact in the preamp, while the majority of the resistors have been swapped in favor of high quality one watt metal film resistors for the cleanest signal and lowest possible noise floor. The power cable has been upgraded to a modern three-prong cable. The power tubes are a pair of matched Mesa Boogie-branded USA made 6L6GC valves which have been properly biased, while the preamp tubes are an assortment of largely vintage valves from the likes of RCA and Telefunken. Cosmetically, the amp is very well kept with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with aluminum trim. The black tolex shows sparingly little wear, and all of the stock hardware is intact, including the chassis straps, corners, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet). The faceplate is quite minty too and the original Fender metal logo (with tail) is intact on the face of the amp. There is modest aging of the original grillcloth, but no other wear of note. As the photos show this is a clean, original, and well maintained vintage Fender! A modern Fender two-button footswitch is included. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb has been expertly maintained to balance function with originality. Stocked with fresh 6V6 power tubes and an assortment of new and NOS preamp tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp has great midrange content, light compression, and starts to saturate with smooth tube overdrive after about 5 on the volume dial. The Reverb is very lush with a long decay, and the tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three-dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. Professionally recapped so the power amp is stable and working as per factory spec with a very low noise floor suitable for recording, the amp also features a modern three-prong power cable. The preamp is loaded with an assortment of vintage Fender blue molded caps and all of the original Schumacher transformers are present, with date codes spanning late 1965 and early’66. The CTS pots date back to the 45th week of’65 and the tube chart is intact with an “PC” date code which translates to March of 1966. The original Oxford speaker also dates to 1965 with the original blue foil Fender label on the magnet and a fresh recone. Cosmetically, the amp is very original overall, with stock smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. There is moderate aging of the grillcloth and some minor scuffs around the edges of the tolex as well as one small cigarette burn on the top. The original hardware is all present including the chassis straps, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), corners, and raised Fender logo on the baffle. The original faceplate is also quite clean with stock witch hat knobs. This is a very original and well maintained example of one of Fender’s most famous Blackface amps, complete with the original two-button footswitch.
