You are looking at a Vintage 1966 Ampeg Gemini II 30 Watt 1×15 All Tube Combo Amp. If you are into that 1960′s trashy rock sound, (Stones, Kinks) you’ll love this amp. In production from 1965 to 1968. Originally designed as an Accordion Amp. (What were they thinking). Though the Gemini II was intended for jazz (like the majority of the Ampegs of its day), this one somehow slipped past the Gatekeeper of Clean, head honcho Everett Hull. Theres something grimy, rich, and raw going on when you crank it up, and that opens a world of sonic possibilities beyond the archetypal smooth. To be fair, itll do smooth if you keep it down to 9 or 10 oclock on the dial, lulling you back into that mid-60s vibe. But, fast-forward nearly 50 years and these things make great avenues to original tones in the arenas of alternative, indie, blues-rock, Americana, and roots-rock. Get it cooking, and it also lets the listener know youre plugged into something other than the usual Vox, Marshall, or Fender-derived amp design. Of your blackface Super Reverb, JMI AC30, or JTM45 Bluesbreaker combo! Our Amp Tech serviced this amp. He cleaned all pots, jacks and tube sockets. Replaced one open plate resistor and a couple of caps. Added a 3-prong grounded ac cord. Everything functions and works great! You won’t spend any additional monies on this amp. Gig Ready on Arrival! Speaker is NOT original. It has been upgrade to a 1×15 Jemsen Speaker! Complete Package with Original 2-button footswitch! Keep in mind that this is a 57 year old vintage amp that has been used. Up for sale, a 1979 Music Man. 112 in excellent, original condition and perfect working order. Launched in 1975, Music Man was founded by former Fender Plant Manager Forrest White, former Fender Sales Rep Tom Walker, and Leo Fender himself, with their very first product being an amplifier known as the “Sixty Five”. Being a hybrid affair, this amp matches a solid state preamp to an all tube power section, in this case EL-34s, providing plenty of headroom, with the warmth and fullness of a tube power section that can get as gritty as you want when the tubes are cooking! Making that easier, the amp features a Hi/Lo power switch, which actually works differently than most in that it’s not a 1/2 power switch, but rather a control for how much plate voltage the power tubes see, giving you control over the clean headroom where “Lo” is similar to a typical amp, and “Hi” sends a colder bias to the tubes. Tonally, this amp is very much in Fender territory with bold, sparkley cleans and dynamic grit, and reminds us very much of a Pro Reverb with a brighter reverb and very unique tremolo, both of which are footswitchable. A two channel amp, the Sixty Five offers plenty of options for tone sculpting with both channels including Volume, Treble, Middle and Bass knobs as well as a Deep switch for filtering the low end when needed. The second channel boasts a Reverb knob, and Intensity and Speed knobs for the tremolo, as well as a Master Volume which governs both channels for achieving saturation at an appropriate volume for any given gig or studio situation. This Music Man sports the original Eminence-built, Music Man-branded, ceramic magnet speaker which has a smooth tonal response and chime that’s right at home in a Fender-style amp. The circuit is clean and essentially untouched, with original tone caps in the preamp and Schumacher transformers that date to’79. The original CTS pots date to the 41st week of 1979. The tubes are a pair of properly biased USA-made Sylvania EL-34s that have plenty of life left. Cosmetically, this amp is very clean, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. Naturally, there are a few minor scuffs and light wear on the edges of the enclosure, but overall this is a very well-kept vintage Music Man. Up for sale, a 1962 Magnatone Giulietti S-9 vintage tube amplifier in exceptional, collector-grade condition and in perfect working order. Complete with the original footswitch, the S-9 is virtually identical to the 260 model, with a 2×12 speaker configuration and lush pitch shifting vibrato. Produced in the Magna Electrics era (pre-Estey), this Magnatone features two channels with individual Volume and EQ controls as well as a bright switch. Driven by a pair of Wing C Svetlana 6L6 power tubes, the amp has a rich, lush sound capable of delivering both articulate cleans and overdriven roar. Of course at the heart of any Magnatone is their varistor-based true pitch shifting vibrato circuit, which is thick and watery, with a Leslie-esque swirl and unequalled. As a top of the line Magnatone amplifier, the Giulietti S-9 has a complex true point-to-point hand wired circuit which has been recently serviced to sound its best, balancing originality and functionality. The circuit retains all of the original blue Ajax molded caps in the preamp and CTS pots that date to the 32nd week of 1962. All of the original Schumacher transformers are intact including a power transformer that dates to the 47th week of 1961 and an output transformer that dates to the 22nd week of 1962. The power tubes are a pair of Wing C Svetlana 6L6s which are properly biased and have plenty of life. The amp retains its original speakers, which are a pair of Oxford 12K5s that date to the 32nd week of 1962. The original black speckled covering is extremely clean with only a few small scuffs and light wear on the bottom corners of the cabinet, and the faceplate is remarkably well kept as well with vibrant silkscreened graphics and all of the original knobs. This is from the collection of a ham radio collector. It was recapped at some point and has a new power cord. The ceramic resistor shown was loose inside when I got it and I replaced it with the one shown. It’s only 270 ohms, so you may want to replace with a different one. That’s the only work I’ve done to it. I played it for 30 minutes on three occasions and it sounded good. Outside looks good but shows a few scuffs. Up for sale, a 1966 Ampeg Gemini G-12 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Remarkably clean and original with a complete vintage tube set and stock two-button Reverb/Tremolo footswitch, the Gemini G-12 is a two-channel affair with a warm and detailed range of tones. The cleans are robust, with great headroom and sparkling, snappy sounds that were designed with the Jazz player of the day in mind and tweaked for maximum fidelity. At full volume, the amp does push into smooth tube overdrive with some sizzle and roar, and the onboard effects are particularly noteworthy. As the company that pioneered onboard Reverb in their combo amps, it’s no surprise that this Ampeg’s iteration of this effect is lush and full with plenty of splash and great decay. Not to be outdone, the tremolo has a thick, choppy quality, and both effects are easily accessed via the included original footswitch. The circuit is virtually untouched, with original transformers that date to’66 and CTS pots which also date to the 15th week of the same year. Not a solder joint is out of place and the original green Cornel Dubilier caps are all present in the preamp. The speaker is the original Jensen C12Q with a clean blue frame, original foil label on the magnet bell, and date code from the 15th week of’66. The tube chart is also intact inside the cabinet. In terms of the tube compliment, the amp is outfitted with the original Sylvania-made and Ampeg-branded 6V6s along with ostensibly the entire original preamp tube compliment. Cosmetically, this amp is a real stunner with a faceplace so polished and clean that it made it difficult to capture the details of the original white silkscreened graphics which are completely intact along with the original set of knobs. The blue diamond checker covering is also exceptionally well kept and paired with the original silver sparkle grillcloth. Even the original leather handle is still in one piece!
