You are looking at a Vintage 1960′s Lafayette by Univox U-320 2×12 All Tube Combo Amp. Univox was the builder on Lafayette amps. They are virtually a clone of Univox. These amps are real sleepers. They have great Tone. Lafayette was a budget economy amp back in the 1960′s, but just like Valco they are appreciated for their Tone. We have upgraded this amp with 2 Jensen C12R speakers. These speakers provide warm low and mid response with smooth/bright highs. When presented with overdrive distortion, it presents smooth crunch with low-end focus. If you are after that mid sixties trashy rock tone, this amp will do the trick. Our Amp Tech just serviced this amp. You won’t have to spend any additional monies on it. Gig Ready on Arrival! Keep in mind that this is a 55+ year old vintage amp that has been used. There are scuffs, scratches and minor tears in the tolex. Some light scratches on the instrument control bezel. Completely restored 1948 Gibson GA25 vintage tube amp combo. This amp sounds truly heavenly! Original Jensen 12″ and 8″ alnico speakers have been reconed by the good guys at the Circuit Shop. Both have early’48 date codes. All out of spec parts have been replaced with highest quality parts. Red Jupiter coupling caps. Sprague Atom and CE electrolytics. Carbon comp resistors on the few that were actually out of spec. Both pots have been opened and thoroughly cleaned and lubed. Still has the screw on shield for the inputs that most of these are missing. The wiring going to the speaker mounted output transformer was starting to crack in places, so I covered the 3 wires with heat shrink tubing for safety. 3 prong power cord. All vintage tubes, two-6J5s and 5Y3GT which I believe to be original RCAs, RCA 5693, which is the ultimate 6SJ7, and two Sylvania 6V6GTs. All test very good on my calibrated Hickok 6000A. The 6V6s are perfectly matched in circuit. Amp will be professionally packed up by UPS Store. First half of video is with volume halfway up, second is fully cranked. Up for sale, a 1959 Gibson Skylark GA-5 tube combo amp in excellent condition and in perfect working order. The first GA-5 iteration was introduced in 1954, quickly becoming one Gibsons most popular amp models. In 1957 the Skylark moniker was added to the line, maintaining the blonde tolex and a single volume knob, but transitioning away from the TV-style cabinet of its predecessor to a sharper aesthetic and larger brown grillcloth. This little Class A wonder pumps out a modest five watts of pure tube goodness through a single 8 speaker. From mostly clean, crisp tones low on the volume dial, to sizzling overdrive when you dime it out, this amp is at home in a studio and sounds great with a microphone in front of it. Dynamic and sweet with the original alnico 8 speaker, this Skylark responds well to a variety of pickups. The point-to-point wired circuit is very original, with transformer codes that date to 1959 and a Centralab pot that dates to the 5th week of’59. The preamp features new capacitors as necessary, with top quality Sprague components used throughout. The tubes consist of a vintage General Electric rectifier and Raytheon EL84 power tube, along with a Sovtek 12AX7 in the preamp. The speaker is a vintage alnico replacement with a clean gold frame and original cone that offers a smooth and even response. The cabinet sports its original blonde tolex and brown grillcloth, which retains its original small raised “Gibson” badge. Even the stock leather handle and small rubber feet are intact, and the faceplate retains its singular chicken head knob. Scuffs and light wear can be seen on the exterior of the cabinet, with light wear through the silkscreening on the face of the amp as well, but as the photos show, this is a presentable and fully serviced vintage Skylark. Here is a Sano Model 160 guitar / accordion amplifier. All tube combo, with a 12 speaker. From what I found on the internet, this amp output is at 16 watts. Features reverb and tremelo. Overall in good shape. Only real drawback I could find on this amp are the following. When using the reverb option, it starts feeding back once you go past about volume 3. I’m sure putting the reverb tank in a bag would help some, but I never got around to it. The only other thing I can fault with the amp is that the handle is very tight, and doesn’t really a whole lot slack when you pick it up. Other than that, pretty clean amp.
