In the late 80′s and early 90′s, Fender’s amp division was seeing its bleakest sales in decades thanks to the high-gain solid state monster amps made popular by hair metal bands. The classic tube amp sound that had made Fender amps famous wasn’t considered desirable, and Fender had to do something. With their characteristic red knobs and a high gain, high output dirty channel, the Fender Champ series became Fender’s saving grace in the late 80′s and early 90′s. The Fender Champ 12 is a bedroom sized tube amp that packs a serious punch. With a 12 “blue label” Fender design driver and 12 watts of tube power, the Champ 12 is a versatile, sweet sounding tube amp that sounds awesome at home or in small to medium sized venues. Notable features include a 7025 tube driven preamp, iconic Fender reverb, push/pull treble boost, 2-channel design with high-gain dirty channel, hardwired footswitch, tape input, and a 1 volt line level output. Interestingly, the Fender Champ 12 also sports a headphone jack, which is truly a rarity for tube driven amps. We love the Fender Champ 12. It’s an affordable amp with all the features you want and need, with a nice small footprint and very controllable volumes. This amp sounds great at low and high volumes, plus the headphone jack makes it easy to practice with at home. Works and sounds incredible! Here’s The Run Down. This is an Amazing Sounding 100 Watt Soldano USA Desiged Tube Guitar Combo Amp. That’s in great shape overall for a 26+/- year old amp. This amp has been used by me, operates/sounds perfectly and without. Will shake your neighbors walls. I run this through a 4×12 cab and its nothing less than unbelievable! There will be marks scuffs and other flaws since it is pre owned, but no damage or signs of abuse. It is in the cosmetic condition shown, so be sure to see all of the pics (see pics). I tried to take really good pics, so you can judge for yourself (see pics). One knob is missing on the rear ohm adjustment, but it easily turns with your fingers and a replacement is only a few bucks. This amp appears all original. The vintage 1964 Vox AC30 is universally considered one of the most legendary in holy grail amplifiers from the past 50 years – a true British icon! The AC-30 helped define the sound of the British invasion, and remains one of Vox’s most important models – for iconic tone reference.. You can listen to the likes of Brian May, Tom Petty, Jimmy Page & Rory Gallagher (to name a few). This particular amp sounds nothing short of spectacular, it chimes and barks with the incredibly dynamic, touch sensitive responsiveness, smooth tube saturation and glassy clarity that has made this amp one of the most sought after of all time. An additional volume knob has been added internally (to the left of the 1st speaker), which acts as a really cool attenuation feature for when you want those massive tones.. This unit is in very good condition for it’s 50+ years of life, with various minor wear & tear to the exterior including a few scuffs that have been very neatly patched up professionally. The combo appears mostly all original (including transformers), except from 2 upgraded Celestion G12s-50 speakers & a changed logo / tone knob along with potentially changed minor service components. There’s no footswitch included in the sale & I believe the trem/vib effect is not quite functioning right (to my ears) – it’s either on (fast) or off & the speed knob doesn’t currently change the speed.. Though the footswitch might simply be required for this feature to function correctly. The fine item you are considering is a Vintage Alamo 2×10 Combo Tube Guitar Amplifier Amp. This cool vintage Alamo tube amp sports a pair of 6V6s for power tubes, and two original 10 speakers. The amp is basically working but it has some issues, these being that while the normal channel works perfectly and sounds fantastic at higher volumes (great break up and very spanky) the Vibrato channel looks to have what I think is a bad pot, which is very crackly (loud crackles when turned) and isnt allowing the volume to be as loud as it should be. Also, it doesnt appear that the vibrato effect is functioning. One of the paper cones on one speaker is torn, but I cant hear it effecting the sound, and otherwise the amp shows typical wear from age and use, but makes a great vintage appearance. The amp measures 23 long and has a nice chrome front plate. Please see my photos to have a look at this nice item. It’s an all-tube, 30W class A amp featuring four EL-84 tubes in the power section. It still retains the sparkle with the controls barely above a whisper. Channel 2 just rips your head off with higher gain settings. The dirty channel has the best distortion I have heard from anything besides a Marshall. It can go from mild bluesy grit to heavy metal. I know it is only 30watts, but it sounds and feels every bit as loud as the 60 watter. Complete Package with Footswitch! Our Amp Tech went through this amp and serviced it.
