Made in the USA Dean Markley RM-80 combo 80 watt tube amp. This is an awesome sounding amp, and very loud too (when you want it to be). It has a tube in the pre-amp, and you can get some wonderful tones. The speaker is a 12 Celestion, and sounds great. You can also unhook the speaker and slide the main part of the amp out to use in a rack, or just use it as is as there is plenty of power for most venues. The handle has been replaced, and there is a discoloration on the top. These don’t affect anything, but wanted to disclose everything. It’s been a week of oddities here at the Birdhouse and this vintage Lafayette tube amp definitely falls into that category. This unusual amp was likely built in Japan in the 1960′s by the Univox Co. Sadly, there are no labels, badges or other characteristics that help to identify the exact model. It’s a point-to-point wired tube amp that uses a pair of vintage Jensen C12R’s. One Jensen is dated to 1962 and the other to 1973. It’s got two channels, each with normal and bright inputs, independent tone and volume controls, reverb and tremolo. The original foot switch is included with the amp. This amp is quite the looker. We’re not sure if the covering is original or not but it sure is eye popping! It’s covered in bright orange tolex with a raised floral / diamond pattern style grill cloth similar to Grandma’s table cloth. The overall condition is very good with very minimal peeling or tearing of the tolex and only a few scuffs and scratches. There’s a small run in the grill cloth. The tremolo is swampy and hypnotizing, very cool! The reverb is more subtle and almost subliminal. It’s not a very deep, Fender style reverb so if you really dig surf’verb, you’ll likely be disappointed. The tone is very bubbly and bouncy, bright and burnished but never thin or harsh. It cuts very well and has respectable volume. This amp is a very trippy, vibey 60′s amp with great tone! For you consideration – All Original Ampeg Reverberocket Tube Amplifier. This is a stunner. It had some caps replaced recently by a friend of mine. He has it in tip-top condition. Original Jensen 12 Speaker sounds amazing. These have a wonderful sounding Reverb – or what Ampeg names “Echo/Dimension” as well as a beautiful Tremolo sound. IF you haven’t played one of these – they are kind of Fender(ish). There is a great article in Vintage Guitar Magazine about these written by Dave Hunter. If you want to find out more try to find that article online. They are the only Ampeg Amps known for the early break-up – good for just about any type of Music. 1979 Fender Princeton Reverb Silverface Tube Amp Vintage Guitar Combo #30252. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a 1979 Fender Princeton Reverb Amplifier Electric Guitar Combo Amp. WORKING CONDITION: Good- Superb Fender tone, with glassy cleans and substantial grit that really sings at a volume that’s present, but manageable. There are a few inconsistent quirks that stopped appearing after a few minutes of testing, like an odd, brief jump in level or two, as well as just a bit of crackle separate from the natural drive, that came in when really hitting the input with some start-stop chords.
