Vintage 1967 Fender Blackface Twin Reverb 2X12 Guitar Combo Tube Amp Amplifier. The Twin Reverb is arguably one of the most recognizable amplifiers to ever leave the Fender factory. When this amp walked through the door here at Tone House we knew it was something special from the second we flipped the standby switch. The “Twin” has been part of some of rock and rolls most notable moments including The Beatles final rooftop performance as well as being a sidekick to SRV during his’85 Japan tour and beyond. With so much new technology in the amp and guitar world it is nice to plug into this iconic vintage Twin and remind ourselves why we fell in love with gear in the first place! Era of Fender amplifiers from 1963 to 1967, the amps had black faceplates, black tolex covering on the cabinet, and neutral to slightly amber tinted silver sparkle grill cloth with a small ribbed rectangular pattern. The Twin now had an onboard spring reverb. Tank and was renamed the Twin Reverb. The Fender Twin Reverb is considered a standard model for players seeking a clean sound, and it is especially known for the quality of its built-in spring reverb. This 1967 Fender Twin Reverb is showing some cosmetic wear due to its age. Parts of the tolex have been torn and there is a 14 piece missing from the bottom edge on the back that is exposing part of the wooden chassis. The baffle has some fraying and tears. Up for sale, a 1982 Marshall JCM800 4104 2×12 tube amplifier in excellent condition and in good working order. This early vertical input JCM800 head shares many similarities to the earlier JMP and can deliver the thick crunch, sizzle, and power for which the 800 series is known. Fully serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar and biased to perfection with a pair of EL34s, this Marshall is ready for stage and studio use. The circuit is very original, with stock Drake transformers that date to 1982. A few new Sprague Orange Drop caps have been installed in the preamp alongside the original Wimas, keeping everything operating within original factory spec. The filter caps have been replaced as well, and the low gain input has been modded (a Plexi mod if you will) to give it a hotter signal. As such, the high gain input has been mellowed out just slightly given the increased gain to the low input. The amp is loaded with the original pair of 25 watt Celestion G12M Greenbacks, both of which have clean frames and original cones. The amp retains the original molded plastic feet, corners, knobs, and handle caps, as well as the large “Marshall” logo and piping on the black grillcloth. The original black tolex shows its fair share of nicks and tears (particularly on the bottom of the enclosure), but has survived the last 35 years in style and would look great on stage or in the studio. Vintage Bell & Howell Tube Amp – FilmoSound Amplifier w/12 Speaker – (Guitar/Harp Combo Amp). This is a Bell & Howell Filmosound Projector Tube Amplifier with a 12 speaker, which I believe is Jensen. It is in excellent condition, and has been tested in the projector (a video of which I have posted on Youtube). As well as posting a video of this amps features here. In the video here. The Filmosound amplifier is playing a short section of Dweezil Zappa’s guitar solo in the song Inca Roads. I disassembled the speaker and amplifier to ensure there were no surprises, and the pictures show that the speaker and amplifier are in superb condition. The vacuum tubes are (2) two 6L6G (1) one 5Z4 and (1) one 6SL7GT. Please see the videos in the links above for more information on the amplifiers condition and functionality. This tube amplifier and 12 speaker from the original projector normally has another tube amplifier (also for sale here) that provides the preamp for this speakers tube amplifier. Up for sale is a rare and excellent tube amp by Traynor. This amp was originally designed to be a bass amp. But like the legendary Fender Bassman, this amplifier sounds TERRIFIC with 6 string electric guitar! This is what I use this amp for, and its amazing in its own little (or more like big) unique way! Since it was designed for bass, this amp has a 15 inch speaker. And I think the speaker gives this amp more depth and body to your single notes, more so than your typical 12 or smaller speaker amps. Possibly with the exception of many of your Fender tube amps, such as the Twin Reverb and Deluxe reverb, which this amp sounds very reminiscent of, to my ears. Note: the original speaker has been replaced by a newer 15. I dont know what the new speaker is, and I dont really want to have to open up the amp if I dont have to. All I know about it is that it sounds GREAT! Add to your palette the top end sparkle that only amps with valves can give you, and youve got one complete sonic solution in your repertoire! All haughty descriptive words aside, this thing can get LOUD quick! It can definitely handle all but the largest venues with ease. Another cool feature of this amp is that there are 2 input sections to this amp, one seeming to have a little higher gain than the other, and each having a hi and low input jack, for a total of 4 inputs! So you can jumper one input side into the other using a patch cable, and really attain all of the tonal capabilities and options of this superb unit! This famous vintage awesome sounding Traynor bass amp is a true collection piece! It is all tube and all point to point hand-wired old school construction that truly is built like a tank which makes it ready for tonal power! I want to go ahead and get this item listed so please stay tuned for updates but I feel like these pictures give a better survey of any cosmetic issues better than I could describe them! There’s nothing like a vintage fender, and this is a gorgeous amp with a badass well-loved vintage look. The amp comes with the original stand in its bag, and was modded by the guitar shop that I got it from to have a modern, clean three prong power plug. There’s only two issues I’m aware of with this amp. One, there’s a little bit of debris in the reverb, which I understand is common, that can make a little rattling sound when you walk near the amp on a floor that bucks, although some people (like me) LOVE that sound as it sounds wet and surfy. Also, turning the reverb all the way up and leaving it alone without playing anything Can cause a ringing sound like feedback, and I have been told that cleaning out the reverb in the first issue should fix that too. Personally it’s never been an issue for me. If there’s anything else to know about these amps is if you have any trouble just peek around back and make sure all the tubes are seated. This amp sounds amazing but I moved into a smaller place and I can’t turn this thing up above a 2 as much as I might want to so it’s time for me to pair down.
