Up for sale, a 1963 Fender Vibrolux in excellent condition and in good working order. This rare 1×12 “Brownface” version of the Vibrolux is a bridge between the Tweed and Blackface models in both specs and tone, with a glassy, touch sensitive quality, robust cleans, and rich overdrive characteristics when you dime it out. Pushing 35 all tube watts through a vintage Oxford alnico 12LN speaker, there’s plenty to love about the versatility and tone offered by this Fender. The amp has plenty of clean headroom and the sweet sag of a tube rectifier, and when pushed above 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly and cascade into sweet overdrive with just enough bite. The bias-based tremolo circuit also has a very strong, thumping pulse that’s notably deeper than later Fender circuits, with a wide range of speeds. The circuit is freshly serviced and largely original, retaining the original Schumacher output transformer and choke. The power transformer is also a genuine Schumacher and properly spec’d for this amp, although it dates to 1965. All of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp and an integral part of the sweetness and clarity of the circuit. All of the stock pots are intact as well with largely original solder joints and cloth covered wire. The circuit has been professionally recapped with high quality Sprauges and F&Ts for the capacitors in the power supply and the smaller bypass caps as well. The bias cap also has a small trim pot piggybacked on it to perfectly dial in the bias of the matched pair of 6L6 power tubes. The amp has also been fitted with a modern three-prong power cable. The preamp tubes are a mix of vintage and newer valves, although the first two tubes (the drivers for each channel) are vintage Tung Sol 12AX7s that sound particularly hi-fi and musical. The power tubes are a matched pair of Groove Tubes. The speaker is the right make and model for this amplifier (Oxford 12LN) and era-correct, although it dates a bit earlier than the amp with a code on the edge of the frame which translates to 1957. The tube chart is also partially intact inside the cabinet. Cosmetically, this amp would look great in a studio, with original rough brown tolex. The amp features modern wheat grillcloth on the original baffle and the cloth has aged to look appropriate for the stock tolex. The leather handle is a modern replacement, as is the lower back panel, while the top back panel is original. The faceplate is notably clean and retains all of the original brown barrel knobs. This Vibrolux is a rare, thoroughly serviced, and largely original vintage Pre-CBS Fender amp that’s ready for stage and studio use. Ampeg VT-22 amp as pictured. Turns on and sounds good to me. Volume control is a bit scratchy and pops when moved. Some of the other controls have a bit of scratchiness. I dont know much about this item. This is a vintage used item. When it got it one of the 7027a tubed was cracked and I replaced both of the 7027a tubes with used ones. Vintage 1967 Fender Blackface Twin Reverb 2X12 Guitar Combo Tube Amp Amplifier. The Twin Reverb is arguably one of the most recognizable amplifiers to ever leave the Fender factory. When this amp walked through the door here at Tone House we knew it was something special from the second we flipped the standby switch. The “Twin” has been part of some of rock and rolls most notable moments including The Beatles final rooftop performance as well as being a sidekick to SRV during his’85 Japan tour and beyond. With so much new technology in the amp and guitar world it is nice to plug into this iconic vintage Twin and remind ourselves why we fell in love with gear in the first place! Era of Fender amplifiers from 1963 to 1967, the amps had black faceplates, black tolex covering on the cabinet, and neutral to slightly amber tinted silver sparkle grill cloth with a small ribbed rectangular pattern. The Twin now had an onboard spring reverb. Tank and was renamed the Twin Reverb. The Fender Twin Reverb is considered a standard model for players seeking a clean sound, and it is especially known for the quality of its built-in spring reverb. This 1967 Fender Twin Reverb is showing some cosmetic wear due to its age. Parts of the tolex have been torn and there is a 14 piece missing from the bottom edge on the back that is exposing part of the wooden chassis. The baffle has some fraying and tears.
