VINTAGE 1960′s CUSTOM KRAFT 600 A AMPLIFIER, ORIGINAL, 1- 8 SPEAKER? This is an original Custom Kraft amp I’ve never seen another amp like it, the grill covering is gray has a bit of glitter to it.. This has a 8″ speaker I did not measure it but it looks like and 8″ If you have questions I would be happy to respond. I was recently told this may be a Lectrolab. I looked it over and that may be correct. The 3 tubes from the right to the left are 1- 35W4, 1- 50C5 and 1- 12 AU6, This one has humm I would guess a filter cap it has more hum now than when I first listed it. You are looking at a Vintage 1962 Silvertone 1472 10 Watts 1×12 All Tube Combo Amp. This is a 100% all original amp. These amps are a great bargain for those players looking for a boutique-quality, handwired amp without the boutique price. It has a great retro overdrive tone, not dissimilar from a tweed deluxe, and sweet all-tube tremolo. This amp has been cleaned and serviced. It hasn’t been used in probably 40 years. Our amp tech went through this amp and she’s all ready to go. The Dano-built, black-covered 1472. Was part of the new, sleek look of the early 60s, part of a quartet of’combo’ amps that were portable, with clean lines and prominent front-mounted controls. On this model and its bass brother, the 1473, a hefty’refrigerator’ handle was also part of the package. Tremolo was included on this amp. He 1472 shared a unique look among its catalog mates. No other amp had vertically mounted front controls or zigzag knobs. These amps always reminded me of a TV, and with the one-eyed monsters’ ascendancy in the early’60s, it kinda makes sense. Manufacture Date: late 1962. Power Output: approximately 10 Watts. Tubes: 6X4, 6V6 (2), 6AU6, 12AX7 (2). Controls: Normal: Mic Tone, Mic Volume, Instrument Tone, Instrument Volume, Strength, Speed. Dimensions: 20” x 18” x 8′. Weight: 21.45 lbs. Original speaker: Jensen C12R dated 220146. Replacement grounded power cord. Speaker: #220146 Jensen C12R. Our Amp Tech serviced this amp. He cleaned all pots, jacks and tube sockets. Checked the bias on the original Silvertone Tubes Made In USA. Installed a grounded 3-prong ac cord. You won’t have to spend any additional monies on this amp. Gig ready on Arrival! Keep in mind that this is a 58 year old vintage amp that has been used. There are some minor tears in the Tolex mainly on the corners. The grill cloth has a few stains. No rips or tears. Overall, a really nice amp. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story. Volume, tone, tremolo speed with pedal, guitar & aux inputs, everything works. The cabinet looks good with standard wear, no tears in the grillcloth. The front wood has standard wear, wood chips and a little fraying of the cloth on the bottom. The univox name has long been missing but my expert vintage amp repair man identified it. Very cool working tube amp from the 60′s with a great vintage look. There is a nice demo of one on youtube under Univox test, it is a 26 second clip with also some specs. Nice, clean vintage Stromberg Carlson 220A stereo integrated tube amplifier. Works and sounds great but one channel sounds louder than the other. All controls have been cleaned. All inputs have been tested. Many of the capacitors have been replaced. Output tubes are 7408′s. Cool looking vintage Marathon vacuum tube Guitar and Instrument Amplifier. See photos for a good look. The cord looks good enough that I went ahead and plugged it in. It powers up, all the tubes light up, no alarming noises during the several minutes I left it On… But the amp sounds pretty sad… Has rattles and some buzzing, mostly from the speaker or cabinet, and maybe loose components I’m guessing. Two of the tubes are metal and two are glass. The control layout is… On/Off switch which is also the Tone control (Bass), the second knob is Tremolo (it works), last knob is Volume, (Loudness). All the controls worked when I tested them. There are three 1/4 inputs. An interesting and perhaps rare amp, it will not however replace your favorite vintage Fender or Marshall, it’s just a cool old practice amp really, more of a curiosity then usable stage amp.
