Nice & Clean McIntosh MC240 Stereo Tube Power Amplifier. Works as it should. Looks and sounds great. All controls have been cleaned. The troublesome Selenium rectifier & circuit has been replaced with a stable modern equivalent. The thermistor and 2 other electrolytic capacitors have also been replaced. As far as I can tell everything else is all original. The 12AX7 and 12AU7 preamp tubes are Telefunken. The output tubes are Blackplate RCA 6L6′s 2 of which are badged McIntosh. The potentiometers date to 1965. Nice clean solid working unit. Includes all tubes shown. VINTAGE 1960′s ALAMO AMPLIFIER, ORIGINAL, ITS WORKS JUST FINE. This is an original Alamo amp I’ve never seen another amp like it, the covering is gray has a bit of glitter to it and has kind of a snakeskin look to the covering. This has a 8 Utah speaker I’m pretty sure its and original speaker. If you have questions I would be happy to respond. Super clean sound out of this amp might be a great studio amp. I looked it over and that may be correct. The 3 tubes from the right to the left are 1- 35W4, 1- 50C5 and 1- 12 AU6, This one has humm I would guess a filter cap it has more hum now than when I first listed it. You are looking at a Vintage 1962 Silvertone 1472 10 Watts 1×12 All Tube Combo Amp. This is a 100% all original amp. These amps are a great bargain for those players looking for a boutique-quality, handwired amp without the boutique price. It has a great retro overdrive tone, not dissimilar from a tweed deluxe, and sweet all-tube tremolo. This amp has been cleaned and serviced. It hasn’t been used in probably 40 years. Our amp tech went through this amp and she’s all ready to go. The Dano-built, black-covered 1472. Was part of the new, sleek look of the early 60s, part of a quartet of’combo’ amps that were portable, with clean lines and prominent front-mounted controls. On this model and its bass brother, the 1473, a hefty’refrigerator’ handle was also part of the package. Tremolo was included on this amp. He 1472 shared a unique look among its catalog mates. No other amp had vertically mounted front controls or zigzag knobs. These amps always reminded me of a TV, and with the one-eyed monsters’ ascendancy in the early’60s, it kinda makes sense. Manufacture Date: late 1962. Power Output: approximately 10 Watts. Tubes: 6X4, 6V6 (2), 6AU6, 12AX7 (2). Controls: Normal: Mic Tone, Mic Volume, Instrument Tone, Instrument Volume, Strength, Speed. He cleaned all pots, jacks and tube sockets. Checked the bias on the original Silvertone Tubes Made In USA. Installed a grounded 3-prong ac cord. You won’t have to spend any additional monies on this amp. Gig ready on Arrival! Keep in mind that this is a 58 year old vintage amp that has been used. There are some minor tears in the Tolex mainly on the corners. The grill cloth has a few stains. No rips or tears. Overall, a really nice amp. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.
