Vintage 1958 Voice of Music EL84 Monoblock Tube Amplifier for Rebuild

Up for sale here is this neat vintage Voice of Music tube amplifier, marked 20010 87 on the chassis. This is circa 1958 and is Made in USA. It normally uses a 6CA4 rectifier tube, two EL84/6BQ5 output tubes, and a 12AU7 and a 6AU6, but only the 6AU6 is included, sorry. This is a mono amplifier–you could match it with another for stereo, you could rebuild it as a guitar amp, or just use it as a mono amp. This is in good physical condition with light overall wear. There is no bottom cover. Everything looks original to me. It will be an amazing guitar amp once it’s done. I will guarantee the transformers to be good. Look at those neat vintage caps! Please see my pictures for details. If you have any questions, please ask. I have more amplifiers and other vintage electronics listed–feel free to take a look! This item is in the category “Consumer Electronics\Vintage Electronics\Vintage Audio & Video\Vintage Amplifiers & Tube Amps”. The seller is “peace.love.and.music” and is located in this country: US. Vintage 1950s Stromberg-Carlson CSA-2 EL84 Mini Tube Amplifier for Rebuild

Up for sale here is this super-rare mini vintage Stromberg-Carlson CSA-2 tube amplifier. This is one of the smallest tube amps I have ever seen, and it is surprisingly heavy! This normally uses two EL84/6BQ5 output tubes and two 12AX7s, but the tubes are not included, sorry. This is in good physical condition with light to moderate overall wear, except that the “Stromberg-Carlson” front plate has some wear and is bent, though you could probably straighten it out. This is a neat little integrated amp–I believe it’s a push-pull mono amp. I think this was an add-on to go from mono to stereo, so I think it normally partners with another amp. This has controls and the original knobs, which are in great shape. You could make this into a sweet little guitar amp or whatever you want. The entire amp measures about 9.75″ long (including the mounting ears), 4″ tall, and 3 deep. A previous owner updated this with some new caps, but I have not tested it, so it may require further updates. I will guarantee the transformers to be good. This is a really rare amp–don’t miss it! Please see my pictures for details. If you have any questions, please ask. I have more amplifiers and other vintage electronics listed–feel free to take a look! A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THIS RARE, SPARKLING CLEAN, AND GREAT-LOOKING MAGNAVOX EL84 STEREO TUBE AMPLIFIER IS PROVIDED AFTER THE PHOTOS. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE DESCRIPTION. In addition, it has 4 output tubes (EL84) and large output transformers as the photos show. It must have been one of Magnavoxs best tube amplifiers back in the early 1960s when it was made. DETAILED INFORMATION INVOLVING THE AMPLIFIER. Ive been told by individuals who are very familiar with Magnavox products that this was one of the largest and best tube amplifiers that Magnavox ever made. As the photos show, this amplifier has a very interesting and classic look to it. Also, its components are laid out very well, it appears to be of very heavy-duty construction, and has very large output transformers for its size. It is very clean, shiny, and good-looking in my opinion and please check out all of the photos that I have provided. I dont know what the model number of this amplifier is although, when I bought it, there was a small piece of paper with it which said that it was a 9303-10. This would seem to agree with what I have seen on the Internet regarding this amplifier. In my view, it looks really nice for its age. However, it does have a number of spots and stains, some discolored areas and streaks (kind of whitish in color), as well as various smudges, scuffs, scratches, bends, scrapes, marks, marks, dings, dents, rough spots, swirls, etc. On it from age, use, etc. Also, the top of the power transformer has some rough areas, nicks, scuffs, paint chips, etc. It appears that some of these chips have been touched up with a black pen or something similar by the amplifiers former owner but I dont know if this is true or not. However, many or most of the above-listed items are too small to be picked up by the camera in the photos. In any event, the amplifier chassis and the transformers (as well as the other components and parts associated with the amplifier) look very nice in my view (especially for a classic and vintage amplifier that is at least about 60+ years old to the best of my knowledge) and please check out the photos for a variety of different views of this amplifier. Located on the top surface of the amplifier is a pair of jacks labelled CH 1 and CH 2, along with the word INPUT next to them. There is also a control on the top surface of the amplifier which is labelled HUM. This control has an interesting-looking grey knob on it as shown in the photos. I dont know if this knob is original or not. Also, it has some dirt, scratches, etc. However, it looks very nice in my view. In addition, there is a large white socket on the top surface of the amplifier which is labelled “TUNER PWR”. Furthermore, there is a terminal strip on the top surface of the amplifier with 3 tabs on it. This strip is labelled SPEAKERS, with the tabs being labelled 2, 1, and C. There is also another terminal strip on the top surface of the amplifier which has 2 tabs. This strip is labelled PILOT LIGHT. The tabs on both of these terminal strips have some bends, residual solder, residue, etc. On them but look decent in my view. I know nothing about these jacks, terminal strips, knob, tabs, control, and socket, and I also do not know if they work, how they work, if they are operational, if they are correct, if they are functional, if they are original, if they have been repaired or replaced in the past, etc. There is no on/off switch or other controls on this amplifier aside from the one listed above. I have not inspected or tested the power cord/plug (or any of the other components and parts used by the amplifier, as well as the amplifier as a whole) as noted herein. Regarding the tubes which are included with the amplifier (and came with it when I bought it), they are as follows (see the photos of the tubes): (A) 6BQ5 (EL84); (B) 6BQ5 (EL84); (C) 6BQ5 (EL84); (D) 6BQ5 (EL84); (E) 5U4GB; (F) 6EU7; and (G) 6EU7. All of these tubes have the MAGNAVOX brand-name on them except for the 5U4GB which has no brand-name on it. I did not test these tubes and I therefore do not know if they are good or not. Likewise, the graphics are smudged/missing/faint on one or more of the tubes. As to what sockets are used in connection with the above-listed tubes, the tube-numbers are stamped into the amplifier surface next to each tube socket. I did not check the tube sockets and I likewise cannot warrant or guarantee that they are good, original, and operational. Accordingly, I will again leave all of the issues with the tubes whether the tubes are good, whether the sockets are good, what sockets the tubes should be in, whether the sockets/tubes are original or not, etc. Also, I have no idea if the wiring in the amplifier is correct or good and I dont know anything about the transformers used by the amplifier if they are good, correct, original, functional, etc. Regarding the electronic components used by this amplifier, I have provided an underside view of the amplifier in the photos which shows various components, parts, wires, control, etc. I have no idea if any work has been done on this amplifier in the past and if the components, parts, wires, etc. Are correct, original, appropriate and proper for this amplifier, if they are correctly wired/installed, etc. The amplifier chassis has a fairly large power transformer and 2 fairly large output transformers as shown in the photos. Both of the output transformers are secured to the amplifier chassis using rivets. This would appear to indicate that they are both original although I dont know if that is true or not. Likewise, I dont know if the power transformer is good or not and if it is original or not. Accordingly, I will leave an assessment of all of these transformers and all of the other parts, components, structures, elements, tubes, etc. Both of the output transformers have the same numbers on them as follows: 320085-2 and 1386208. There are also some numbers on the power transformer, but I cant read them. Furthermore, there is another (additional) transformer on the top surface of the amplifier (it is riveted on like the output transformers) which has no markings on it. This other transformer is quite small. I dont know what this other transformer is supposed to do, if it is operational/functional/original, etc. The amplifier chassis also has a really nice-looking MAGNAVOX name-badge on its top surface as the photos show. I dont know if this name-badge is original or not and I dont know how the name-badge is secured to the amplifier chassis it may be secured using an adhesive, etc. But I dont really know. The name-badge has some scratches, bends, etc. On it but, as noted above, looks quite good in my view. This name-badge really gives a nice and classic look to the amplifier. In addition, secured to the front and rear of the amplifier chassis as shown in the photos are a number of cool-looking shiny silver round decorative disks. Also, there are a few of these disks on the top surface of the amplifier chassis (apparently filling unused openings in the chassis although I dont know for sure). These disks appear to have been added by the amplifiers former owner although I dont know anything about their origin. All of these disks have some scratches, scrapes, etc. On them but look quite good in my view. I dont know how they are secured to the amplifier chassis (they may be secured using an adhesive or other means but I dont know for sure). However, both the above-listed name-badge and the decorative disks give the amplifier a very interesting and nice-looking appearance in my opinion and check out the many photos of them that I have provided. In summary, this amplifier is, in my view, really nice-looking, clean, shiny, large, impressive, and has a very distinctive retro appearance. It also has a clean and interesting layout of components. Now is your chance to have a very cool-looking amplifier in nice cosmetic condition which, in my view, would be a really fun item to own! I have not done anything to this amplifier and all of its parts, transformers, wires, electronic components, tubes, sockets, power cord/plug, capacitors, resistors, jacks, control, terminal strips, tabs, knob, and all of its other components and I know nothing about their condition. The above-described amplifier may have been worked on, repaired, had parts replaced/repaired, had parts added/subtracted, and/or been modified by someone else in the past, but I dont know whether this is true or not. In this regard, I have done nothing to this amplifier and I have not inspected it (or any of its parts/components) internally or externally. However, I do not know how much work, parts, wires, wiring work/replacement, repairs, rewiring, upgrading, power transformer replacement/repair, output transformer replacement/repair, repair/replacement of the other (additional) transformer, electronic components, power cord/plug replacement, additional parts, tubes, jacks, sockets, resistors, capacitors, controls, terminal strips, tabs, knobs, etc. Likewise, this amplifier does not have a pilot light, pilot light socket, tube shields, on/off switch, and any controls other than the one described above (to the best of my knowledge), etc. Furthermore, no other items such as paperwork, instructions, schematics, boxes, cartons, spare parts/tubes/wires, or any other items are included with this amplifier. Likewise, it does not appear that there is any fuse in this amplifier it does not appear that there was ever one since there is no fuse-holder, etc. Although I dont know if this is correct or not and I cant tell if it currently has a fuse/fuse-holder or if it ever had one. I will leave any changes, modifications, repairs, inspections, assessments, tests, replacement of any parts, upgrades, corrections, rewiring, additions of any parts, subtractions of any parts, expansions, revisions, etc. This amplifier is quite heavy and will be double-boxed which will further add to its weight. While I will pack this item very securely, some of the wires, components, parts, capacitors, resistors, sockets, transformers, jacks, power cord/plug, name-badge, decorative disks, control, terminal strips, tabs, knob, resistors, etc. Furthermore, the name-badge is fairly delicate and may, in fact, partially or entirely come off, break, crumble, etc. Likewise, the decorative disks may also partially or entirely come off, break, bend, dent, etc. In addition, the black paint on the power transformer is also quite delicate and one or more portions, chips, etc. However, I will do my best to try and prevent these situations by very carefully packing this amplifier although I cannot guarantee that they wont happen. Please make a note of this. And should be considered to be non-working. Furthermore, all of the tubes, tube sockets, capacitors, resistors, jacks, power, output, and other transformers, power cord/plug, sockets, control, terminal strips, tabs, wires, knob, and all of the amplifiers other components/parts need to be checked out by an electronic expert to see if the tubes are good, if the tubes are the correct ones for this amplifier, if the tubes are in the correct sockets, and if all of the tubes, tube sockets, capacitors, resistors, jacks, power, output, and other transformers, power cord/plug, sockets, control, terminal strips, tabs, knob, wires, and all of the amplifiers other components/parts are good, correct, properly-wired, and operational before the amplifier is powered-up, tested, used, worked on, modified, connected to any other equipment, instruments, speakers, or components, connected to a power source/supply, plugged in, upgraded, etc. Likewise, I have no idea whether everything is original or not in the above-listed equipment and I therefore cannot make any warranties regarding originality. In this regard, I do not know if any of the parts, power transformer, output transformers, other (additional) transformer, capacitors, resistors, jacks, sockets, control, terminal strips, tabs, knob, and all of the other components used in the amplifier are original or if they have been repaired/replaced/modified at some time in the past. I also do not warrant that this amplifier is complete and I do not know if there are any missing or incorrect parts/components, etc. The item “RARE VINTAGE COUSIN MAGGIE EL84 STEREO TUBE AMP AMPLIFIER (LARGE/CLEAN/SHINY)” is in sale since Sunday, September 26, 2021. Up for sale is my Eico HF81 integrated amplifier. Great sounding vintage tube amp, good bass. I have owned and worked on 4 HF81s. Power supply capacitors changed (30uf film and F&T), along with other electrolytic caps and some important HV wires. New coupling caps throughout – inc. Russian K40Y PIO and Solen. Voltages are a bit high but within spec. 6 tube sockets were replaced. Tubes are mostly US, including great GE oval plate 6BQ5s. The “Focus” (balance) pot was bypassed with resistors (commonly done with these amps). Unnecessary amplifier separation switch on chassis removed from circuit. All original pots, clean and smooth. Has mostly older original parts and wires, but many new parts installed where needed. Case original and was resprayed a few years ago. Tarnish spots on chassis. Knobs are clean but have been lightly glued on. 3 useable inputs – 2 line and phono. Line input jacks are new but phono jacks are original. The phono section is not the last word in vinyl playback but it’s good. Some noises heard in selector switch when turned to unused inputs (it’s old). New speaker terminals, 4 and 8 ohm. Sounds like you hope it will – these amplifiers are legendary for a reason. It’s a beauty – just polished the brass face plate. A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THIS RARE, CLEAN, AND NICE-LOOKING VINTAGE PACKARD. BELL EL84 STEREO TUBE AMPLIFIER IS PROVIDED AFTER THE PHOTOS. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE DESCRIPTION. It is made by Packard-Bell. This estate sale had a small group of Packard-Bell tube amplifiers and I bought all of them. However, I found another one which I had forgotten about! It has a different model number on it DPA-30-3 v. This amplifier has an attractive and clean chassis with a really nice appearance. I believe that this particular amplifier would make a great addition to any vintage tube amplifier collection. DETAILED INFORMATION INVOLVING THE AMPLIFIER. As the photos show, the amplifier is has a really nice appearance in my opinion. It is very retro-looking and has a well-organized layout of tubes and components in my view. Please check out all of the photos that I have provided which show the amplifier from many different views. He apparently liked Packard-Bell products and had a number of different Packard-Bell consoles and amplifiers as mentioned above. As shown in the photos, there is a small pink paper sticker on one side of the amplifier chassis which has some information on it including an indication that this amplifier is a Model DPA-30-4. The sticker also has the following additional information on it: No. 10318 and PB # 71396-23. As mentioned above, this amplifier has a really unique and cool-looking appearance. Likewise, it is very clean as shown in the photos. Other than this information, I know nothing more about this amplifier and its history. As noted in this description, the amplifier chassis looks very nice and clean in my view. It does have some discolored areas, scuffs, scratches, bends, scrapes, marks, swirls, stains, dings, dents, rough spots, residue (including some dried unknown brown material/spots along one side), etc. On it from age, use, etc. Please check out the many photos of the chassis that I have provided which show it from a number of different angles. Many of the above-listed items are too small to be picked up by the camera in the photos and, in my opinion, this amplifier has a very distinctive and nice look to it. Located on the top surface of the amplifier are 2 output transformers. They are matching transformers in that they both have the same code numbers on them, namely, 89532 and 3946338. Also located on the top surface of the amplifier is a large power transformer which is painted black. This transformer is very big and heavy. Most of the black paint on the transformer is present but I noticed that there are a number of crack-lines in the paint (possibly from heat and use although I dont know for sure), along with various chips, ripples, scratches, scrapes, dents, dings, creases, and missing paint areas (some of which appear to have been touched-up with a black pen by the amplifiers former owner although I dont know if this is actually true or not). Please check out the various photos of this transformer that I have provided. I dont know if these power and output transformers are good, functional, original, operational, if they have been worked on or repaired, if they are complete, if they are correct and proper for this amplifier, etc. Also on the amplifier chassis are a number of other items. These items include: (A) 2 small jacks on one side of the amplifier chassis; (B) a large brown plastic socket on the top of the amplifier chassis; (C) a small black plastic outlet on one side of the amplifier chassis; and (D) 2 small semi-circular sockets on one side of the amplifier chassis. I know nothing about these jacks, sockets, and outlet, and I also do not know if they work, how they work, what they are supposed to do, if they are correct, if they are functional, if they are original, if they have been worked on or repaired, if they are complete, if they are correct and proper for this amplifier, etc. To the best of my knowledge, there is no on/off switch or other controls on this amplifier. I also do not know if the power cord/plug is good or not and if it is original, functional, operational, correctly-wired, correct and proper for this amplifier, etc. I have not inspected or tested the power cord/plug (or any of the other components and parts used by the amplifier, as well as the amplifier as a whole) as noted herein. The top surface of the amplifier also includes a really nice-looking metal colorful name-plate which says PB in a very distinctive type-style. This name-plate is really interesting-looking! It does have some bends, uneven surfaces, etc. On it here and there but it looks really nice in my opinion. In addition, I dont know how the name-plate is affixed to the chassis (possibly using some kind of adhesive but I dont really know). Likewise, I dont know if it is original or not (and goes with this particular amplifier) In any event, however, the name-plate is really cool-looking in my view and check it out in the photos that I have provided. Regarding the tubes which are included with the amplifier (and came with it when I bought it), they are as follows: (see the photos of the tubes): (A) 6BQ5 (EL84); (B) 6BQ5 (EL84); (C) 6BQ5 (EL84); (D) 6BQ5 (EL84); (E) 7025/12AX7A; (F) 7025/12AX7A; and (G) 5U4GB. I did not test these tubes and I therefore do not know if they are good or not. Since there is no tube-diagram on this amplifier, I dont know if the above-listed tubes are in the correct sockets in the photos and if they are the correct tubes for this amplifier. I also did not check the tube sockets and I likewise cannot warrant or guarantee that they are good, original, and operational. I will therefore leave all of the issues with all of the tube sockets and the tubes whether the tubes are good, whether the sockets are good, what sockets the tubes should be in, what tubes are correct for this amplifier, etc. Also, I have no idea if the wiring in the amplifier is correct or good and I dont know anything about the transformers used by the amplifier if they are correct, original, good, functional, etc. Regarding the electronic components used by the amplifier, I have provided an underside view of the amplifier in the photos which shows various components, parts, wires, etc. I have no idea if any work has been done on this amplifier in the past and if the components, parts, wires, etc. Are correct, original, appropriate and proper for this amplifier, if they are correctly wired/installed, etc. In summary, this amplifier is, in my view, nice-looking, clean, impressive, and has a very distinctive retro appearance. I therefore believe that this amplifier would make a wonderful addition to any vintage amplifier collection and a really fun item to own. I have not done anything to this amplifier and all of its parts, transformers, wires, electronic components, tubes, sockets, power cord/plug, capacitors, resistors, jacks, outlet, and all of its other components and I know nothing about their condition. However, I do not know how much work, parts, wires, wiring work/replacement, repairs, rewiring, upgrading, power transformer replacement/repair, output transformer replacement/repair, electronic components, power cord/plug replacement, additional parts, tubes, jacks, sockets, outlets, resistors, capacitors, plugs, etc. Likewise, this amplifier does not have a pilot light, tube shields, on/off switch and any controls (to the best of my knowledge), etc. Furthermore, no other items such as paperwork, instructions, schematics, boxes, cartons, or any other items are included with this amplifier. Likewise, it does not appear that there is any fuse in this amplifier it does not appear that there was ever one since there is no fuse-holder, etc. Although I dont know if this is correct or not and I cant tell if it currently has a fuse/fuse-holder or if it ever had one. I will leave any changes, modifications, repairs, inspections, assessments, tests, replacement of any parts, upgrades, corrections, rewiring, additions of any parts, subtractions of any parts, expansions, etc. This amplifier is quite heavy. While I will pack this item very securely, some of the wires, components, parts, capacitors, resistors, sockets, transformers, jacks, power cord/plug, name-plate, outlet, resistors, etc. Furthermore, the paper model number tag is quite delicate and may, in fact, partially or entirely come off, tear, rip, crumble, etc. In addition, the black paint on the power transformer is also quite delicate and one or more portions, chips, etc. However, I will do my best to try and prevent these situations by very carefully packing this amplifier although I cannot guarantee that they wont happen. Please make a note of this. Furthermore, all of the tubes, tube sockets, capacitors, resistors, jacks, transformers, power cord/plug, sockets, outlet, and all of the amplifiers other components/parts need to be checked out by an electronic expert to see if the tubes are good, if the tubes are the correct ones for this amplifier, if the tubes are in the correct sockets, and if all of the tubes, tube sockets, capacitors, resistors, jacks, transformers, power cord/plug, sockets, outlet, and all of the amplifiers other components/parts are good, correct, properly-wired, and operational before the amplifier is powered-up, tested, used, worked on, modified, connected to any other equipment, instruments, speakers, or components, connected to a power source/supply, plugged in, upgraded, etc. Likewise, I have no idea whether everything is original or not in the above-listed equipment and I therefore cannot make any warranties regarding originality. In this regard, I do not know if any of the parts, power transformer, output transformers, capacitors, resistors, jacks, sockets, outlet, and all of the other components used in the amplifier are original or if they have been replaced at some time in the past. I also do not warrant that this amplifier is complete and I do not know if there are any missing or incorrect parts/components, etc. The item “RARE VINTAGE PACKARD-BELL EL84 STEREO TUBE AMP AMPLIFIER (NICE-LOOKING & CLEAN!)” is in sale since Sunday, June 6, 2021. I haven’t built one of these vintage stand alone amps for a few years. But came across this powerhouse Silvertone EL84 Stereo amp, and I just had to bring it back to life.. What a fantastic sounding amp! All you need is a pair of 8 ohm or higher speakers and you can simply hook up your ipod or iphone to this! If you want to run something like a CD player, you would of course need a preamp.. This amp is super quiet. No noise whatsoever on pause or in between music tracks. This has all new electrolytics, including a CE USA can capacitor. A re-filled original cardboard can capacitor, new silicon diodes, AC cord, red pilot light in front, a. On/off switch, rca inputs for your music source, and speaker binding posts for connecting your 8 ohm or higher speakers. Four Silvertone EL 84′s, all matched, and dual 12AX7a’s, NOS Sylvania. Chassis was painted in a fun red. And the amp is mounted on a custom board with vintage black coverings. This amp looks cool, and sounds awesome! What more can I say? Thanks for looking, Jimmy O. God Bless The United States of America. Give me Liberty, or give me death!! A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THIS BEAUTIFUL, CLEAN, AND RARE VINTAGE PACKARD. BELL EL84 STEREO TUBE AMPLIFIER IS PROVIDED AFTER THE PHOTOS. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE DESCRIPTION. It is made by Packard-Bell and is one of the nicest and cleanest looking versions of this particular amplifier that I have ever seen. This amplifier has a shiny and very clean chassis along with a very large power transformer and matching output transformers. It has a wonderful look to it and it would make a great addition to any vintage tube amplifier collection. DETAILED INFORMATION INVOLVING THE AMPLIFIER. As the photos show, the amplifier is very clean, shiny, and has a wonderful appearance in my opinion. It has a very retro appearance, as well as a clean and well-organized layout of tubes and components in my view. Please check out all of the photos that I have provided which show the amplifier from many different views. As shown in the photos, there is a small paper sticker on the amplifier chassis which has some information on it including an indication that this amplifier is a Model DPA-30-2. Evidently, the console that the amplifier came from was a Model RPC-12D, according to the sticker. The sticker also has the following additional information on it: Serial 2494 and PB# 71199. As mentioned above, this amplifier has a really unique and cool-looking appearance. Likewise, it is very clean and has a nice shine to it. Other than this information, I know nothing more about this amplifier and its history. As noted in this description, the amplifier chassis looks very nice and clean in my view. It does have some discolored areas, scuffs, scratches, bends, scrapes, marks, swirls, stains, dings, dents, rough spots, residue, etc. On it from age, use, etc. However, many or most of these items are too small to be picked up by the camera in the photos. It is a very distinctive and nice-looking amplifier in my view and please check out the photos for a variety of different views of this amplifier. Located on the top surface of the amplifier is a very large and unusual-looking power transformer which is painted black. This transformer is very big and heavy. This big transformer has a very distinctive and unique appearance as the photos show. The black paint on the transformer is nice, clean, and shiny-looking in my view. There are some paint chips, scuff, scratches, scrapes, etc. On the power transformer (especially on the top of it) but as noted above, it looks good in my opinion There are also 2 output transformers which are clean and shiny as the photos show. They are matching transformers in that they both have the same code numbers on them, namely, 89532 and 394108. I dont know if these power and output transformers are good, functional, original, operational, if they have been worked on or repaired, if they are complete, if they are correct and proper for this amplifier, etc. Also on the amplifier chassis are a number of other items. These items include: (A) 2 small jacks; (B) a large black plastic socket; (C) a small black plastic outlet; (D) 2 small semi-circular sockets adjacent the output transformers; and (E) 2 small side-mounted additional semi-circular sockets which are attached to the side of the amplifier chassis using a metal mounting bracket as shown in the photos. I not inspected or tested the power cord/plug (or any of the other components and parts used by the amplifier, as well as the amplifier as a whole) as noted herein. The top surface of the amplifier also includes a really cool-looking black plastic oval-shaped name-plate holder with a very interesting-looking metal name-plate in the center which says PACKARD BELL on it along with a PB logo. This name-plate is really interesting-looking! It does have some bends, uneven surfaces, scratches, etc. On it here and there but it looks really nice in my opinion. In addition, I dont know how the name-plate holder and name-plate are affixed to the chassis (possibly using some kind of adhesive but I dont really know). Likewise, I dont know if it is original or not (and goes with this particular amplifier) In any event, however, the name-plate is really nice-looking in my view and check it out in the photos that I have provided. Regarding the tubes which are included with the amplifier (and came with it when I bought it), they are all Packard-Bell brand tubes and it is quite unusual in my view to have all the tubes with the same brand on them that is on the amplifier. The tubes are as follows (see the photos of the tubes): (A) 6BQ5 (EL84); (B) 6BQ5 (EL84); (C) 6BQ5 (EL84); (D) 6BQ5 (EL84); (E) 7025; (F) 7025; and (G) 5U4GB. I did not test these tubes and I therefore do not know if they are good or not. Likewise, the graphics are smudged/missing/faint on one or more of the tubes. Also, affixed to one side of the power transformer is a paper tube diagram which lists the tubes and their locations. This paper diagram has some bumps, lumps, lines, creases, scuffs, hard-to-read portions, smears, etc. But is nearly all there as the photos show. I also did not check the tube sockets and I likewise cannot warrant or guarantee that they are good, original, and operational. I did notice that one of the EL84 tube sockets appears to be a bit different from the other EL84 tube sockets and is mounted using very small screws (instead of the rivets used by the other tube sockets). I also noticed that the EL84 tube fits more loosely in this socket than in the other sockets. Accordingly, this socket may need repair, replacement, or it may be OK I dont really know. Likewise, this socket may be a replacement done either at the factory or by someone else. However, I dont know if this is correct or not and I know nothing about this particular tube socket or any of the other tube sockets. Accordingly, I will leave all of the issues with all of the tube sockets and the tubes whether the tubes are good, whether the sockets are good, what sockets the tubes should be in, what the situation is regarding the above-listed socket, etc. I have no idea if any work has been done on the amplifier in the past and if the components, parts, wires, etc. Are correct, original, appropriate and proper for this amplifier, if they are correctly wired/installed, etc. In summary, this amplifier is, in my view, really great-looking, clean, impressive, and has a very distinctive retro appearance. It is beautiful and one of the best-looking and cleanest versions of this amplifier that I have ever seen. I believe that it would make a wonderful addition to any vintage amplifier collection and a really fun item to own. I have not done anything to this amplifier and all of its parts, transformers, wires, electronic components, tubes, sockets, power cord/plug, capacitors, resistors, jacks, outlet, and all of its other components and I know nothing about their condition. Packard Bell DPA 30-3 Push / Pull Tube Amplifier with EL84 output tubes. It also includes 2 Packard Bell marked 7025 (low noise 12AX7) preamp tubes; see the last picture for tubes. Works Well; It powers on when plugged in. The tubes are all marked “Packard Bell” and all test good on an emissions type tube tester (Sencore TC154). The 5U4 rectifier tube tests good, but its guide pin is broken. An extra 5U4 tube will also be included; It is a GE tube and it also tests well. The speaker plug in connectors and 10 foot cables are also included. This amplifier is modified with a jumper wire (colored white) so that it powers up when plugged in. That is the only modification. This tube amp was recently tested using a CD player plugged into a pre-amplifier, plugged into the input jacks. I listened to an entire CD with no problems (all tubes work, no smoke or no hot transformers).
