Vintage Tube Amp

I’m letting go of a few things from from my collection, including this Precision Electronics PA25 vintage tube amplifier project. These make killer guitar amps! Can keep stock circuit, or chase F3nd3r or Dumbl3 circuits, etc. The amp is in good condition, and has an incredible look – needs typical updates like new. Servicing, desired mods/conversion – pictured tubes are included.

This is a very old amp.. Can see in the pics the tubes glowing.. Not sure what its for.. Weights about 22 pounds.. Measures 17 inches long.. Cord has been added on to (pics).. Screws holding the top cover to the bottom.. Couple screws are not original.. But holds it on.. There is no cover on the bottom.. Please check all pics..

For your consideration is a VINTAGE MAAS-ROWE CARILLONS 500-A 2-CHANNEL 60W TUBE AMPLIFIER. Sought after for conversion by audiophiles and guitar and bass players, this amplifier appears to be complete, except for the AC plug, which was an unusual 3-prong unit that got damaged in transit and discarded. 1950′s Vintage Consolidated Electronics Reproduce Plug In Tube Amplifier Rack Type 5-021. Uses two 5751, 1 5814A(missing), 1 5654, 1 6072 tubes as well as a metal 9 pin Frequency Level FL-501 tube, dated 1959 ATP-QC1238. 1920, 20s, 1930, 30s, 1940, 40s, 1950, 50s, 1960, 60s, 1970, 70s. Please view the photographs as we are not experts in tubes. There are three tubes; each one is a type 2A3. One is inside a box. The box and the tube are marked “Sylvania”. The tube is marked “2A3″ on the glass. Each of the other two tubes are marked “RCA”, and marked “2A3″ on the glass. These two tubes do not have boxes. We used a Hickok model 1575 tube tester and we tested the tubes. The Sylvania tube and one of the Rca tubes tested very good. The other Rca tube tested good. Even though the Sylvania tube is in its original box, we are not certain it is an unused tube. We hope that the photos will help those who are interested. We will do our best to answer any questions. This is a Pine Electronics tube amp from the 1960s. It is in excellent condition, all the capacitors have been replaced (both electrolytic and tone caps), and has a good set of tubes installed. The only thing missing is the front emblem. This amp uses a 12AX7 pre amp tube (JJ ECC 803), a 35Z5 rectifier (Marconi), and a 50L6 power tube (Marconi). If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I have not tested this unit other than to turn it on and my observations include that it has a powerful hum and all the vacuum tubes appear to light up. Please see photographs as they are part of the description.

Vintage tube amplifier untested. Unfortunately I don’t know how to test it. I powers on for about 30 minutes and everything seems to be fine, but again is not tested. The unit still powers up, and the turntable functions on all speeds. The only problem is when it’s switched all the way over 78, the turntable makes a scraping sound. I’m not sure if it’s missing anything for the tone arm rest. It could be similar to some of the guitar amplifiers they made. It’s in pretty good cosmetic condition, as you can see. There is one wear paint spot on the left bottom side. Otherwise, it’s in very good condition. I imagine this could be converted to a fine guitar amplifier.
