This was recapped in 2018 and continues to sound wonderful. I recently upgraded to a bigger unit and have no use for this anymore. Tall’can’ type condensor/capacitor failed after a few minutes when these conditions were observed. Part got very hot and smoke was visible. Power was removed immediately. Unit is offered as-is with these notes. Tested on 110v step down. Separate or stereo mode was selected. Used 8 ohm speakers with existing wiring connection (Set for 8 ohm). Left channel audio came in clearly. Only a low hum/buzz was heard on the right channel. All 4 large tubes observed glowing normally. Did not get a chance to view the smaller HK tubes. 6L6GB MA 188-5 tubes x2 Harman Kardon 6CG7 312 913 tubes. Astron 20 MF 450VDC. Missing 4 screws for upper mesh cover. Please forgive me, Dad, but I have to sell your classic audio equipment! My father was quite an audiophile and left me with some old tube-based components that weigh a ton! I’ve got a Harmon Kardon Award Series, A500 Integrated Stereophonic Tube Amplifier. Transformers are BIG and tubes are in place. All knobs and sliders are original and work.
