The owner is extremely conscientious, and the testing information is based on his evaluation. Magnavox AC-3-C Audio Frequency Amplifier, in overall good cosmetic condition, as shown. Three globe type X10 tubes of various manufacturers. The rest of the information is based on what I have provided regarding the unit. The model is a three-stage audio amplifier for early radio use; it is not a radio receiver. It requires separate battery supplies and an external speaker. No separate power supply or speaker is included. The amplifier has three globe type X10 tubes of various manufacturers. The tubes and amplifier have not been tested, and operation is unverified. Here are three working Western Electric 216-A amplifier tubes with good emissions. When tested on a Dan Nelson calibrated TV7/U tube tester, with 6.3 volts to their filaments, the tubes scored 44/35, 45/35 and 54/35. They were further tested in an early 20′s battery amplifier, and they all work well.

Still cleaning up the amp and checking for functionality – owner said that the amp does power on but didn’t get into details about output quality. Great set – will upload measurements in a bit. The 6bq5s appear to be made In Japan with the exception of one made in Germany. I have no idea what the tag means by run number one. I highly doubt this is from the first crop off the production line but I suppose it could be?

This Magnavox 116-C amplifier is from an enthusiast’s collection. It is untested & will most likely need a full restoration but I do stand behind the transformers. Cosmetically this piece is in good condition for its vintage.

Vintage Magnavox Tube Amplifier Model 109C – Quad 6V6. The tube amplifier was tested in the console, and it got power. The tuner dial was not working, nor the phonograph, so we were unable to test output. We did test the tubes with a Hickok TV-7/U tube tester and will list the results below. The chassis has some stains and and some paint loss on the transformers. This was taken from the Magnavox 355H console. Please see all the photos. The tubes were tested as follows. 6V6 Tubes: (1) 68, (2) 70, (3) 69, (4) 66. Minimum value is 46. They are testing at 90-100% of full value. 5Y3 Tubes: (5) 44/40, (6) 58/52 (plate 1/plate 2). Minimum value is 40. One tube tests below 80% value. The other is around 80-90% of value. The amplifier measures 14.75 x 10 x 5.5 (with mounting tabs). The amplifier measures 20 lbs 12 oz.

Vintage Magnavox 185 AA Stereo Tube Amplifier 1950s – WORKS. So here’s what i know. Before removing it I had it making lots of sound through the old record player needle.
