The CTS pots have late’65 date codes, and the tube chart rounds out the applicable dates with a “OI” stamp that translates to September of 1965. Even the original power supply caps are intact and still viable. Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Twin Reverb in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A freshly serviced and very original example, this Twin’s condition is all the more uncommon given its size. While Fender’s smaller combos of the era can occasionally be found in pristine shape, it’s significantly rarer to find Fender’s gig-worthy large combos (which generally saw much rougher usage) as well-kept as this example. This Twin delivers warm, articulate cleans with ample bass response, a wide-ranging and responsive EQ, and present, sparkling Fender top end. When it comes to the quintessential Blackface Fender amp for clarity, headroom, and the balanced, authoritative response of a four 6L6 driven tube amp, it’s hard to beat the Twin. The tube-driven Reverb effect has incredibly depth and splash, and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with a wide range of speeds. It’s as iconic a design as Leo Fender ever created, also very well-suited to amplifying pedal steel or electric piano in the vein of a Wurlitzer or Fender Rhodes. The circuit is extremely clean and straight, with all of the original blue molded Ajax capacitors in the preamp, a key part of the sweet, musical character of the Blackface-era preamps. The preamp features just a few new electrolytic caps, and even the original Mallory main filter caps are intact and still viable. The power tubes are a quad of properly biased Sovtek 5881WTX (6L6), and the preamp tubes are all matched modern Sovtek-branded valves as well. All of the original Schumacher-made transformers are intact, all dating to mid-1967, and the original CTS pots have visible date codes from the 51st week of’66. The speakers are a matched pair of vintage Oxford 12T6s, both featuring original cones and dating a hair earlier than the amp, with date codes on the frames from the 49th week of’65. These speakers easily handle the power of the Twin, and the speaker harness is original too. The tube chart is intact, stamped with a bold “QH” date code which translates to October of 1967. The original black tolex is exceptionally clean, with sparingly little wear on the edges of the enclosure. The silver sparkle grillcloth shows only modest darkening over the decades, with one small hole that has been cleanly patched from the backside with matching cloth. The faceplate is notably well-kept, retaining its full compliment of original witch hat knobs, and the original backplate is intact too, with the SSN of a previous owner etched into the plate. All of the original hardware is present, including the chrome tilt back legs, nickel corners, sphinx glides, handle, and raised Fender logo on the amp’s face. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Deluxe tube amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Manufactured in the brief Brownface Pre-CBS era, this amp has a very original 6G3 circuit, only serviced as needed for optimal performance. Providing a perfect middle ground between the warmth and dynamic range of the Tweed amps that preceded it and the clarity and chime of the Blackface amps that would be introduced a couple years later, this Deluxe offers everything from rich and mellow tonalities to twangy and crystalline bite at the turn of a knob. The bias based tremolo circuit is deep and throbbing, with a very smooth waveform and a tone that has an almost three-dimensional quality. It’s truly one of the best examples of this classic Fender effect. The circuit features the original Schumacher transformers which date to the 36th and 38th weeks of’62, with a closely matched chassis stamp from the 49th week of 1962. The preamp is virtually untouched save for a one new bias capacitor sleeved in their original brown Astron wrapper, and all of the original Stackpole pots are intact too. The preamp features the full compliment of original blue molded Ajax tone caps, essential to the sweet, musical character of Fender’s golden age circuits. The power supply has also been professionally recapped, and the new caps have been neatly sleeved in the original Astron brown wrappers. The tube compliment includes a brand new matched pair of Electro Harmonix 6V6s, an NOS rectifier, and modern valves in the preamp as well from the likes of Groove Tubes and Sovtek. The stock Oxford 12K5 speaker is intact with a minty frame and date code from the 32nd week of 1962, and the speaker has been professionally reconed. Inside the cab, the original tube chart is mostly intact too. Cosmetically, this amp is remarkably clean, with original rough brown tolex, wheat grillcloth, and even the stock leather handle. The original chassis straps, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet) are also intact, and the faceplate is very clean, retaining its full compliment of brown barrel knobs. 1963 Fender Bassman 6G6B Blonde Brownface Vintage Piggyback Tube Amp Oxford 12M6

Up for sale, a 1963 Fender Bassman in excellent condition and in perfect working order, featuring a complete vintage tube set and matched pair of Oxford 12M6 speakers. An early iteration of the “Piggyback” Bassman with rough blonde tolex and oxblood grillcloth, this Brownface-era Fender drives two vintage Tung Sol 5881 (6L6GC) power tubes for 40 powerful watts of pure tube goodness. Like the Tweed amps that preceded it, the Brownface circuits respond well to picking dynamics with Fender’s hi-fi, glassy clean tones. The EQ controls have a huge range and after around 5 on the Volume dial the amp cascades into very rich tube overdrive that compresses noticeably and is particularly roaring and thick. It’s the kind of natural tube saturation that only comes from pushing a well-designed Fender circuit to its limit. A Pre-CBS Fender Blonde Bassman was used on more Beatles recording sessions than the Vox AC30, was a particular favorite of Pete Townshend, and has become the amp forever linked with Brian Setzer’s classic Rockabilly tones. It’s hard to beat this particular Bassman circuit for a tone that bridges the gap between the dynamic grit of the Tweed circuits and the shimmery cleans of the Blackface line. The circuit is very original and has been well-maintained and recently serviced with fresh F&T filter caps. A few new smaller electrolytics in the preamp, and a modern three-prong power cable. All of the famed blue molded Ajax capacitors are intact in the preamp, an essential part of the sweet, musical character of Fender’s Brownface circuits. With stock Stackpole pots, carbon comp resistors, and cloth wire. All of the Schumacher-made transformers are intact, with date codes that span late 1962 and early’63. The tube chart is intact inside the head cabinet, with an MC date stamp which translates to March of 1963. The tube compliment includes a pair of vintage Tung So power tubes that have been properly biased, and the preamp tubes are a matched set of vintage RCAs. The cabinet retains a matched pair of Oxford 12M6 speakers, an optimal and original pairing for the 6G6B Bassman circuit, with date stamps on the edges of the frames from the 42nd week of’62. Both speakers also boast professional and recent recones, ensuring a particularly clear sound with refined, tight bass response. Both the head and cabinet retain their original rough blonde tolex, and both have just been freshly regrilled with correct oxblood grillcloth. The tolex exhibits some various marks commensurate with age, with one small patch of replaced tolex on the back panel of the speaker cab. Both flat Fender logos on the head and cab are original, and the clean faceplate retains its full compliment of cream barrel knobs. The hardware includes the original piggyback clip bars, nickel corners, sphinx glides, and tilt-back legs, with a new pair of Fender piggyback thumbscrews. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! International orders will be declared as merchandise, and the value of merchandise will be declared as the amount paid. We cannot declare anything as a gift or for a lesser value. 1960 Fender Super Pre-CBS Brownface Vintage Tube Amp 2x10 with Oxford 10K5

Up for sale, a 1960 Fender Super in excellent condition and in perfect working order. One of the very first Brownface-era Fender Supers off the assembly line, this exceedingly rare amp is serial number 00085, with date codes from late 1959-January of 1960. Practically prototypical with its 5G4 circuit, this amp features the centrally located Volume knobs seen on the very first Brownface amps, as well as the factory plugged “Pulse Adjust” hole on the rear panel for a feature Fender intended to include, but opted out of in pre-production after the plates had already been printed. A direct descendant of the Tweed era Super amp, this Brownface example is notable for being one of few Supers to retain the same Triad transformers which were central to Fender’s Tweed amps. An incredibly touch-sensitive and dynamic amplifier with surprising headroom, the Super boasts hi-fi clarity and sparkling, robust clean tones. Turning the amp up past 5 on the volume dial yields thick, chewy overdrive, and the EQ controls have an incredibly wide sweep. Of course this is the most compact Brownface-era amp to feature the “Harmonic Vibrato” circuit as well. A true pitch shifting vibrato (not the tremolo found on most Fender amps), the Harmonic Vibrato sound has a thick, Leslie-esque throb and warble, with a three-dimensional quality and depth that is perfectly suited to the speaker compliment and cabinet size. Whether you want a slow, undulating swampy sound or faster, pulsating vibrato, this Super delivers the goods. The circuit is extremely original, and the amp retains its original Triad power and output transformers, while the choke was made for Fender by Schumacher, dating to the 50th week of 1959. The preamp is virtually untouched save for a few new smaller electrolytics and a fresh bias cap, retaining all of the original yellow Astron capacitors which are central to the sweet, musical tonality of Fenders Tweed and early Brownface amps. All of the original Stackpole pots are intact, with visible date codes from the 40th week of’59. The tubes consist of a matched pair of Tube Amp Doctor 6L6s, along with a JJ GZ34 rectifier and a host of newer preamp tubes. The speakers are a matched pair of era-correct Oxford 10K5s, both recently reconed with long metal bell covers for the alnico magnets. Under the bell covers, the magnets retain their clean date stamps from the 43rd week of’61. The tube chart is fully intact, noting the 5G4 circuit and complete with a “JA” date stamp that translates to January of 1960. The amp has been professionally retolexed by 3 Monkeys Amplifiers with correct rough brown tolex, and the baffle has been regrilled with the correct Oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe, another holdover from the Tweed era. All hardware is stock and accounted for including the rare light brown plastic “dogbone” handle, sphinx glides (feet), and flat “Fender” logo on the amp’s face. This Super is freshly tested and serviced, and ready for stage and studio use. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Vibrolux Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch. With good reason, the Vibrolux is one of the most desirable Fender Blackface models for its ideal size and power, performing well both on stage and in the studio with shimmering Fender cleans and smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive when you push the amp towards 10 on the volume dial. Clean and sweet up til about 5 on the volume knob (with a perceived volume that’s loud enough to keep up with an aggressive drummer), the Vibrolux has smooth attack and tube rectifier sag, not to mention lush tube reverb and punchy tremolo. The circuit is stunningly straight, save for new electrolytic caps in the preamp and power amp, cleanly sleeved in their original Minimite wrappers. The original Schumacher transformers all date to 1966, and the preamp features a full compliment of original blue molded Ajax caps, a key ingredient in the sweet, musical character of Fender’s Blackface circuits. All of the original CTS pots are intact too, dating to’66. The Oxford 10 speakers are a pair of vintage drivers with clean black frames and blue foil Fender stickers, both dating a few years later than the amp but otherwise identical to the stock speakers. The tube chart is intact, and strangely oriented upside down, with a PH date stamp which translates to August of 1966. The pair of Tung Sol 5881 (6L6) power tubes are optimally biased, and the preamp tubes are all modern valves from the likes of Electro Harmonix and Sovtek. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact, and the hardware includes the full compliment of witch hat knobs, raised logo, handle caps, chassis straps, corners, and sphinx glides (feet). The upper back panel is original, and the lower panel is a vintage-spec replacement. The original two-button footswitch is included. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb has a very original circuit that has been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. Stocked with new properly-biased EH 6V6 power tubes and a full compliment of new JJ preamp tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp has a clear and dynamic sound, delivering sparkling cleans that are a great effects pedal platform. The amp starts to saturate with smooth tube overdrive after about 5 on the volume dial, cascading into rich, lightly compressed crunch as you push the volume to 10. The Reverb is very lush with a long decay, and the tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three-dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit is very original, with all of the stock Schumacher-made transformers (Fender’s primary transformer supplier in the Blackface era) dating to late 1965. The preamp is loaded with the full compliment of the original blue Ajax molded capacitors, a key ingredient in the dynamic, musical tone of Fender’s Blackface amps, and all of the original CTS pots are intact as well, with date codes from 1965. The power amp has been professionally recapped with F&Ts, and the preamp features a new bias cap and smaller bypass caps to ensure the amp is operating within original factory spec. All new caps have been carefully sleeved in their original Minimite wrappers for a flawless vintage look. A three-prong power cable has been installed as well. The original Oxford 12K5-6 12 speaker is intact, freshly reconed and a very rare speaker, used only in the Deluxe Reverb. The speaker has a clean black frame, Fender blue foil sticker on the magnet, and 1966 date stamp on the frame. Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is mostly intact too. Cosmetically, the amp is very original, with stock smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The amp was at one time fitted with tilt-back legs, and the small mounting holes for this hardware have been cleanly doweled on the sides of the cabinet. The lower back panel is original, while the top panel is a modern factory-spec replacement. All of the original hardware is present including the chassis straps, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), corners, and raised Fender logo on the baffle. The original faceplate also shows sparingly little wear with bold graphics and stock witch hat knobs. The original two-button footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1962 Fender Tremolux Vintage Blonde Brownface Piggyback Tube Amp with Oxford 10s

Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Tremolux in excellent condition, complete with the original 2×10 speaker cabinet and a pair of factory spec Oxford 10K5 speakers. This amp boasts the sweetness, tonal range, and harmonic clarity that characterizes the Fender Brownface amps, and is powered by a pair of freshly biased vintage General Electric 6L6 power tubes. The tone is pure, dynamic Fender clean sparkle until around 4 on the Volume dial where the amp begins to get just a touch of overdrive on the notes before cascading into full tube saturation when you dime it out. The bias based tremolo circuit has an incredibly deep pulse and the EQ controls have a positively huge sweep. The circuit is very original and serviced strictly as necessary to ensure optimal performance. The original Schumacher output transformer and choke are intact with’62 date codes, while the power transformer is a modern premium replacement courtesy of Mercury Magnetics. All of the stock blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp, along with the full compliment of Stackpole and CTS pots, with visible date codes from the 7th week of’62. The power supply has been professionally recapped with top notch Sprague Atom filter caps, and Sprague bypass caps have been installed in the preamp as well, keeping everything operating within original factory spec. A three-prong power cable has also been installed. The tube compliment includes a matched pair of vintage General Electric USA-made 6L6s, along with a Mesa-branded GZ34 rectifier and a combination of new and vintage valves in the preamp. Inside the speaker cabinet, the original tube chart is mostly intact. The cabinet is loaded with a pair of reissue Oxford 10K5 gold frame ceramic magnet speakers which have the correct look and tonal properties, paring very well with the Tremolux circuit and output capability. Both speakers have viable cones and clean frames. While the speaker cabinet retains its original rough blonde tolex and wheat grillcloth, the head cosmetics have been meticulously restored to match, courtesy of Rodgers Amplification. Larry Rodgers used the correct tolex and grillcloth patterns and application techniques, right down to the correct style staples. The new tolex and grillcloth on the head were then carefully aged (in color, not condition) to match the original grill and tolex on the cabinet. The original wheat grill on the cabinet shows light wear and one notable snag near the center, but no other notable wear. The chassis itself is quite clean, and there are two small silver plugs in the back from previously removed mods. The original faceplate is fitted with a compliment of new cream barren knobs, and the hardware includes original nickel corners, sphinx glides, patent pending tilt-back legs, and chassis straps, with a pair of modern brown “dogbone” handles. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. International orders will be declared as merchandise, and the value of merchandise will be declared as the amount paid. We cannot declare anything as a gift or for a lesser value. We do our best to describe all items with honesty and accuracy, but to be sure, please.
