2 (TWO), ONE MATCHED PAIR OF VINTAGE RADIO CRAFTSMEN 500, ULTRA HIGH FIDELITY MONO TUBE AMPLIFIERS IN GREAT WORKING AND COSMETIC CONDITION. These are 1st VERSION (round corners OPTs) from Radio Craftsmen Co. Triode operated British KT-66 (6L6GC) audio amplifiers in Class A with 10watts, 8 and16 Ohms taps. Both are in matched cosmetic and mechanical condition. All internal parts are same and were selected from same vintage period. Same, new, vintage Stancor PC-8412 power transformers for proper replacement. One transformer is positioned bit forward. One amp 1st tube shielding one tab is broken off, but will be included. The Craftsmen 500 came in 1950-52 with 2 version, rounded and sharp corner output transformers. Both with original power transformer failure, corrected with proper specs, beefier replacement Stancor PC-8212, requered new mounting holes. Most original power trasformers if not bad NOW, will fail LATER. Inrush current limiter installed to protect amplifiers operation. As with all vintage amplifiers they should be operated with Variac to select proper operating B+ and bias. (117VAC) Bench and in home audio system tested and sounding flawlesly. For sale is a pair of Mcintosh Mackit-30 amplifiers. These amplifiers were made for only a single year and are extremely rare. The chassis and parts are screwed together and not riveted, making restoration much easier. These units have not been turned on in over 30 years and worked the last time they were used. Serial numbers are close, but not consecutive. For their age, they are in excellent condition with normal scratching and light pitting along with a few light rust spots. Before these are used, they will need to be serviced. One amplifier has a chassis flaw that is slight, the but steel isn’t folded as cleanly as I’m used to from McIntosh. These will need to be serviced by a qualified tech before use. These are far too valuable to plug-in with the nearly 60 year old parts inside. Expect that you’ll need to replace the power tubes (and some of the others) as well. Please message me if you have any gear for sale but dont want to deal with listing! You do not need to live near me. I sell mostly vintage electronics. As such, these items are old and typically out of spec from when they were new. I do my best to test these items and make sure they work before theyre sent out, but I do not guarantee or represent that they will meet the original specifications. I may not even be able to test them, in which case assume that they dont work. However, there are times where I may miss something.
