Vintage DYNA DYNAKIT Stereo 70 Tube Amp In Original Box And Instructions! It is in original box with instructions. I dont much about this stuff but I had a buddy test it out and he said it was working. The only thing I did to it was dust it off a little. There is still some dust and it will need to be cleaned. Vintage 1950s Pye High-Fidelity HF 5/8 Valve / Tube Amplifier / Amp – READ. A vintage 1950s British. Pye High-Fidelity monoblock valve amplifier. It shows evidence of age (for example, the tops of the transformers, and exposed screw heads, have surface rust). There are NO guarantees with this item. The internal components appear to be mostly original, so this should be good guide for restoration. We expect that most of the 60 year old internal components are too old to be relied on, and would need to be replaced. We have tested the valves individually on an Avo valve tester. It uses a GZ32 rectifier, EL90 and ECC81 valves, and ALL valves test very strong on the test meter. What you see in the photos is what you will receive. If you cant see something, then it is not included. Remember with valve amplifiers that they MUST have a load attached before they are plugged in, or serious damage may occur. This means that you MUST attach a speaker to it before you turn it on. Failure to do so may result in components burning out instantly. Therefore, when you receive it, do NOT be tempted to plug it in to see what it does – take your time to work out how to attach a speaker before trying it out. We suspect that this hasnt been used for 20-30 years as we personally removed it from the workshop of an elderly gentlemen who died recently and it was buried under a mountain of other stuff. This is a nice amplifier. It has some scratches on the cabinet but looks good overall, particularly the faceplate with really looks great. Also included in the sale is a reproduction of the manual. With a line voltage of 230VAC, the plate voltage sat at 1850VDC in CW position. With 45 watts keyed-down on 40 meters we measured 500 watts out, which is about right as the manual calls for 1000W PEP and we can assume 50-60% efficiency. The tubes are getting extremely hot (orange in color) when we put the amp into high-voltage position. The L-4B was originally designed to only work with Drake equipment. This one has since been modified to work with other transceivers, and we used an IC-706MKIIG when testing rather than Drake equipment. Perhaps this won’t happen when using Drake gear? Bias current may need to be adjusted. There may be something else going on that we aren’t aware of. This item will be packaged using our InstaPak foam-in-bag system, ensuring the utmost protection! Vintage McIntosh Mc240 Stereo Amplifier. This 240 Amp is recently restored by professional including a full set of old stock US made tubes. All capacitors have been replaced with those of equal or higher specifications. Electrolytics are Panasonic brand caps. RCA jacks were replaced with gold plated teflon units. There is a known issue with this AMP : one channel seems to be louder than another. I think it may need to further tested and fixed. Other than that, this AMP is in working condition. My price is reflecting this issue. A good bit of “patina” and signs of age as shown in the pictures. The MC-240 has a unique design that makes it much easier to live with than many other tube amps, old and new. Due to a special transformer design, no bias setting is necessary. It is also not a requirement to used matched pairs or quads. A perfect choice for someone new to tube amps, or a veteran that is sick of tweaky unreliable tube power. However, please know that this is a vintage item. It is not a brand new machine. All sales are final.
