Vintage Tube Amp

Please take the time to read about this guitar amplifier and message me with any further questions: this is old and showing signs of cosmetic wear, commensurate with age. The cabinet has a few cracks seen (though it remains in one piece), and the green pearlized wrap has chipped in some places. The power cord is solid, but the sheathing on the braided wires leading to/closest to the speaker have become frail over the years and are now wrapped in electrical tape. One of the dial knobs are missing, but knob turns as it should. The unit powers on and tubes light up, however, I’m not getting any sound from the speaker, but I do hear static. May be something super simple like a grounding issue, in which case, my loss is your gain. If no takers, I’ll be taking the amp to a tech for a refresh and relist once working fully. This unit does come with the back cover plate, a lot of times when these show up on the market the back cover is missing, likely in part due to them not staying on very well, which this one doesn’t, but it is included!

Crate Palomino V32 Vintage-Style Guitar Tube Combo Amplifier Amp Beige w/ Foot Switch – AS-IS READ. Tested and Confirmed Functional. Internal speaker outputs loud and clear audio. Line input is functional. All amplifier effects and controls operate as expected (spring reverb, clean/overdrive, tone controls). Footswitch controls respond correctly. Unit powers on and functions during basic testing. Intermittent static/crackling present from internal speaker when idle (no input signal). Line output signal tested weak; signal is extremely faint when connected to a mixer or external effects pedal. To hear the line out, both the instrument’s output gain and the V32′s volume must be raised well above typical levels. Internal speaker was disconnected during testing to prevent excess volume from routing simultaneously. Amplifier housing and control knobs become noticeably warm during use; heat was also observed through top ventilation. Proper operating temperature is unknown. No further troubleshooting, diagnostics, or repairs have been performed. There is no guarantee of functionality beyond what is described here. Standard signs of use. The unit was not fully tested, so I’m offering it as-is for parts / repair only for a final sale. Does not come with any tubes. Condition notes; pretty nice overall cosmetic condition for its age. The item does have a cigarette smell odor. Estate find, I don’t know much about this item so I can only comment on what I tested. The unit powers on. The front knobs all appear to be functioning. Item was tested with 4ohm speakers on the 4 ohm settings and the sound works. Please see video above in my listing, that is the extent of the testing that was done. Only very basic minimal testing was done as shown in the video. Does not come with the tubes that are in the video. The vast majority of the outputs/inputs on the back of the unit and speaker screws on the back were not tested. Missing a few screws on the bottom of the case. Due to its age, it’ll probably need some going over / looking over, new capacitors, and possible repairs, etc. Some wires are a little dirty and dusty. Ok one of the original knobs is missing the one to the far right, I replaced it with a different knob, I do not play guitar but I’m good with electronics, all functions appear to be working tubes light up unit plays with a guitar plugged in but like I said I do not play so I can not speak on to how it sounds vs another amp. I used deoxit on all the pots. I did nothing else to the unit. The face plate could probably be cleaned to perfection if desired, cabinet is in good shape for its age. I’m sure that the whole setup could use some sort of maintenance but it all looks to be working from what I could tell.

VTG Ampeg SuberBReverb R-15-R Guitar Tube Combo Amp w/ Sovtek 6L6WGC – TESTED READ. Classic Ampeg tube tone! This vintage amp has had. Some tube substitutions and/or modifications. By a prior owner. It appears to be adapted for. Sovtek 6L6WGC (5881) tubes. Which are used in place of the original 7591s. Capacitor has been replaced. Full service history is. Tested on 110V using a step-down converter. Due to the vintage nature of the amp. And functioning – no hum, clean tone. Reverb and tremolo work. And pedal switches toggle each function properly. All cords are in good shape. Tube complement (left to right). Generic 12AX7A (in place of original 7025). Sovtek 5881/6L6WGC (x2, in place of original 7591s). Cracked plastic on carrying handle. (metal bar inside; handle is functional but not recommended for lifting). Along seams, with some. Along the back lower edge. Rust, scratches, and faded lettering. On control panel – all consistent with age. See detailed photos for condition. Only items shown are included. Rare and great-sounding vintage amp. Due to its age and modifications. One of the earliest Teisco amps made and only a couple are known to exist. Someone started to restore/refurbish the amp and replaced some capacitors and wire. The work was done well but was never finished. Cool piece of history and would make a great addition to any collection. Outer dimensions are 11″h x 9″w, 5d. Get it while you can, the chances of finding another one are slim to none. A must have for any Teisco collectors.

Scott Amplifier / Power Supply Chassis. Here is a description that I found on the internet that appears to match this item. It may be a late Philharmonic (or Phantom Deluxe) Amp/Power Supply Chassis. It is uncommon in respect to the finish on the power transformer and the plug layout for the speaker connections. I have been told that chrome was in high demand immediately preceding WWII and in the later production years, the PTs were black in some models. If you look at the contours of the power transformer, you will see that it matches the more typical chrome counterparts. The interconnect sockets are rectangular instead of round and accept Jones plugs. This chassis is very similar to a Laureate but with the layout and tube compliment of a Philharmonic(or Phantom Deluxe). This chassis is set up for 5U4G rectifiers and a quad of 6L6G output tubes. Tubes are included what you see is what you get. This particular amplifier appears to have been restored in recent years as it has a new power cord, new electrolytic caps on the bottom of the chassis with the (top) originals left in place (one has a broken phenolic mounting wafer) and a few new capacitors. The underside of the chassis is clean and the wiring looks very nice. The top of the chassis is poor to fair in my opinion, there is moderate pitting on the Chrome chassis, the filter chokes and the cover of the driver transformer look pretty good, please look at the pictures and judge for yourself. The person who we got the amplifier from left the radio chassis and case behind and when he went back for these items per my request, they were long gone. The tubes appear to be as follows. 2 each 5U4GB rectifiers and 4 each 6L6G (or equivalent) output tubes. I suspect this item is probably functional but I have no way to test it. I will package this item carefully in a sturdy box to insure that it arrives in the same physical condition as seen in the pictures. I will remove the 6 tubes and package them in another box and box them with the amplifier. This amplifier / power supply assembly is a fine example of American made high quality radio equipment and was hand built with the state of the art technology of its time and the finest American made parts that were available.
