Vintage Tube Amp

Bought this to restore, but never got around to it. Put tubes in it last week, plugged it in, and tubes did not glow. Thats as far as I have gotten. Good and bad things about the amp. The output transformer housings are in pretty good shape. Minor nicks here and there to the black paint, but no major dents. Stickers look good too. Internal wiring looks pretty decent overall. The chrome chassis isnt in the best shape though. Chrome is pitting and rusting and almost all of the silk screening is gone. Missing a few screws for the bottom cover and the speaker terminal section. I will include the gold speaker adapters shown. Those are shown installed and will be included. Here is a nice looking a 7.5 or so out of 10 cosmetically McIntosh MC240 stereo power amp. The chrome is mostly shiny with some minor pitting (see photos) also there is one area on the top where there is some more pitting – see the third photo. Inside (please view photos) looks 100% original – you will need to replace some parts to make this reliable the transformers all work and the amp passes signal, (with a slight hum) however one of the power tubes red plates when I fired it up to test (it was on a variac to attempt to reform the caps) I would recommend that this amp be thoroughly gone through by a qualified tech prior to use.
