Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Pro Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order with the original two-button footswitch. Providing the general tonal character of a Twin Reverb, but boasting a tube rectifier and more manageable 40 watts of power, the Pro Reverb is a 2×12 amplifier with enough volume for large ensemble situations and the perfect balance between shimmering Blackface cleans and smooth, touch-sensitive overdrive. A great platform for effects pedals too, the cleans on this Pro are balanced, clear, and warm. Of course once you reach around 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly, and you get that dynamic, glassy sound that adds just the right amount of grit to your tone. The tube-driven Reverb has plenty of splash and dimension, and the tremolo has a strong, smooth pulse and wide range of speeds. Very original and well maintained, this Pro Reverb is ready for stage and studio use! The circuit is extremely original, with the original compliment of Schumacher-made transformers, dating between the 13th and 23rd weeks of’65. The stock CTS pots are all intact as well, dating to early’65, and the chassis stamp notes a 1965 build date as well. The preamp retains all of the original blue molded Ajax capacitors which are a hallmark of the Blackface tone, as well as new bias and bypass caps to ensure optimal operation. Even the original power supply caps are intact and still functioning well. A modern three-prong power cable has been installed, and the amp is loaded with all modern valves including a pair of matched JJ 6L6s and a GZ34 rectifier. The speakers are a pair of vintage Fender-labeled CTS 12 speakers which date to 1979. The tube chart is fully intact, with an “OI” date stamp that translates to September of 1965. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth is intact and in remarkable shape. The cloth has only light aging, and the tolex shows only some minor scuffs and nicks on the edges of the enclosure. The stock hardware is in great shape including original tilt back legs, chassis straps, corners, sphinx glides (feet), and handle. This Pro Reverb has fresh tubes, a very original circuit, and sounds every bit as good as a Blackface Fender should! The original two-button footswitch is included. A vintage Yorkville Sound/Traynor tube amp! This is the guitar mate reverb model YGB-3! I think the speaker cover has been replaced at some point, as it doesn’t look like others I’ve seen, nor does it have the Traynor logo on it? Lightly tested and seemed to be working fine! Only tested briefly, so it could need some servicing to get up to par! There’s wiring taped at the back. Does have scuffs and scratches to the exterior from use. The metal on the unit has corrosion. As noted above, the speaker fabric looks to have been changed at some point. Speaker is pretty beat up. Whole piece measures approximately 21 3/4″ wide, 10″ front-to-back and 24 tall. The chassis number is A23372/3 (see photo). This amp was inspected and reconditioned at J Gravity Strings in St Louis MO (see photo of receipt showing all the work that was done) The amp sounds excellent and has a lot of power (80watts at 8ohms) to punch through. It was good enough for Chuck Berry who used exclusively Fender Dual Showman Amps, and as the story goes, if the show promoter didn’t have two of these for Chuck to use when he arrived he would refuse to take the stage and play. The vibrato on this amp has been converted to a “master volume” which was a common practice. Grounded cord for safety. The original foot switch is also included. Up for sale, a 1974 Fender Vibrosonic Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A rare vintage Silverface-era Fender amp, the Vibrosonic uses the 100 watt all tube platform of the venerable Twin Reverb and pairs it with a single 15 speaker. Perfect for situations where maximum headroom, power, and crystalline cleans are essential, the massive Fender-branded Cerwin Vega model P. 15 speaker compliments the circuit perfectly. Whether you want aggressive Tele snap, the rich textures of a pedal steel, or the polyphony and powerful bass response of a Fender Rhodes piano, the Vibrosonic is an ideal choice. The amp also features Fender’s tube driven Reverb and Vibrato (technically tremolo), which add extra dimension to the tone and can be accessed via the original two-button footswitch. The circuit is very original and recently serviced, with stock Schumacher transformers that date to between late 1972 and’73. All of the original blue molded capacitors are intact in the preamp, and the original CTS pots date to early’74. The power supply has been professionally recapped, and the preamp features new bypass caps as well to ensure years of future trouble-free operation. The tube compliment consists of a matched quartet of properly biased Ruby 6L6s, along with a host of modern preamp tubes. The speaker is among the most robust used in any Fender amp, and the Cerwin Vega has a clean orange frame and original sticker on the magnet. The tube chart is partially intact inside the cabinet, which retains its original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The finger-jointed cabinet does show have repairs on the top edges of the cabinet, which have been addressed both structurally and cosmetically, with the tolex carefully glued down after the finger-joints themselves were reglued. The Silverface faceplate retains all of its original turquoise text and full compliment of black witch hat knobs, and all of the original hardware is intact including the tilt-back chrome legs, corners, handle caps, chassis straps, and sphinx glides (feet).
