Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb has a very original circuit that has been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. Stocked with fresh 6V6 power tubes and an assortment of new and vintage preamp tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp has a clear and dynamic sound, delivering sparkling cleans that are a great effects pedal platform. The amp starts to saturate with smooth tube overdrive after about 5 on the volume dial, cascading into rich, lightly compressed crunch as you push the volume to 10. The Reverb is very lush with a long decay, and the tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three-dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit is very original, with the original Schumacher output transformer, reverb transformer, and choke, while the power transformer is a genuine vintage Deluxe Reverb replacement from 1968, also manufactured by Schumacher. The preamp is loaded with the full compliment of the original blue Ajax molded capacitors, a key ingredient in the dynamic, musical tone of Fender’s Blackface amps, and all of the original CTS pots are intact as well, with date codes from mid-66. The power amp has been professionally recapped with Sprague Atoms, and the preamp features a new bias cap and smaller bypass caps to ensure the amp is operating within original factory spec. A three-prong power cable has been installed as well. The speaker is an era-correct vintage Fender 12 driver, manufactured by Utah and featuring a clean black frame, Fender blue foil sticker on the magnet, and date code from the 3rd week of’66. The speaker also features a fresh recone, delivering a smooth, balanced sound. Cosmetically, the amp is very original, with stock smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The tolex shows some light wear around the edges of the enclosure, with a couple small tears which have been glued flush and two nickel-sized holes (one on each side of the cabinet) which have been cleanly doweled with tolex on top so that they practically disappear. While the grillcloth is genuine lightly aged vintage Fender cloth, it has been re-stapled taut to the original baffle. All of the original hardware is present including the chassis straps, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), corners, and raised Fender logo on the baffle. The original faceplate also shows sparingly little wear with bold graphics and stock witch hat knobs. Up for sale, a 1979 Music Man 112RP Sixty-Five in excellent, original condition and perfect working order. Launched in 1975, Music Man was founded by former Fender Plant Manager Forrest White, former Fender Sales Rep Tom Walker, and Leo Fender himself, with their very first product being an amplifier known as the “Sixty Five”. Being a hybrid affair, this amp matches a solid state preamp to an all tube power section, in this case EL-34s, providing plenty of headroom, with the warmth and fullness of a tube power section that can get as gritty as you want when the tubes are cooking! Making that easier, the amp features a Hi/Lo power switch, which actually works differently than most in that it’s not a 1/2 power switch, but rather a control for how much plate voltage the power tubes see, giving you control over the clean headroom where “Lo” is similar to a typical amp, and “Hi” sends a colder bias to the tubes. Tonally, this amp is very much in Fender territory with bold, sparkly cleans and dynamic grit. A later iteration of the Sixty-Five platform, this “RP” variant features onboard Reverb and Phasor [sic]. The three-spring Reverb is lush with a long decay, and the Phasor has a low noise floor (given where the effect is placed within the circuit) and rich, swooping textures. The amp also features Treble and Bass boost switches which adjust frequency ranges outside the Bass/Middle/Treble knobs for, as the original Music Man manual puts it, the equivalent of five-band equalization. The circuit is clean and serviced as needed, with a bevy of Sprague Orange Drops in the preamp and Schumacher transformers that date to’79. The original CTS pots date to the 12th week of 1979. The tubes are a pair of properly biased USA-made Sylvania EL-34s that have plenty of life left. The speaker is a non-original ceramic Celestion G12T-75 which handles the wattage of the amp well and voices the circuit in a pleasing way. Cosmetically, this amp is quite clean, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. Naturally, there are a few minor scuffs and light wear on the edges of the enclosure as well as patina on the hardware, but overall this is a very well-kept vintage Music Man. Up for sale, a 1974 Fender Twin Reverb in collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch, cover, manual, and schematic. A pristine vintage amp that’s extremely original and just given a clean bill of health from our techs, this Twin is freshly retubed with a matched quad of JJ 6L6s and lives up to its reputation for having the most formidable, glassy, and balanced clean tones a tube amp can provide. These tones are further complimented by a pair of original Utah 12 speakers, which have a smooth, punchy, and surprisingly articulate sound. The circuit is very original, with a virtually untouched preamp and original Schumacher transformers that date to 1974. The bias circuit has been simplified and reverted to an earlier Fender wiring scheme with a true bias pot as opposed to “bias balance” between the tubes. This provides a greater range for ensuring optimal tube life and plate voltage. All of the original CTS pots are present as well, dating to’74. The chassis has a gleaming faceplate and full compliment of original knobs. Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is pristine, and the pair of Utah 12 speakers have immaculate black frames and original blue foil Fender stickers. The smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with orange stripe is near mint, as is all of the original hardware. The stock set of casters is present too. The original slip cover is included, with “Fender” silkscreened in silver, along with the original two-button footswitch, manual, schematic, and envelope for said paperwork. The envelope has “TR” stamped on it, denoting that it was specifically marked for a Twin Reverb. Vintage Montgomery Ward / Valco Amp Head. 2 Channel, Reverb and Tremolo. 4 x 6L6s, 3 x 12AX7, and a 6V6 all of which look to be RCA. This amp is a vintage tube amp which looks to be in its original state minus the updated 3 prong cord added by one of the previous owners. Having it inspected by a amp tech is always a wise idea to insure several more years of awesome use. Both channels work and so does the reverb and tremolo. There is a hum when the amp is on and resting, w. Hich is very common for older amps. It does sound very good though when it is played and all the knobs and switches seam to work. The hum doesnt increase when adding volume or adding reverb or tremolo. All 3 lights work but the 1st one looks to be out of position and not as bright. Cabinet does have a few dings with rips in the vinyl, but solid and clean for the most part. One rubber foot is broken also. Faceplate does have some pitting from its age. Solid amp with great bones, but not in perfect condition. Please ask any and all questions and I will do my best to answer. Ridiculous but it will be packed correctly. Fender Champ 12 Vintage Tube Amplifier made around 1990. This is an all tube combo amp with a 12 inch speaker. Two 12AX7′s in the preamp and one 6L6 in the power amp. Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Export Model, very original and given a clean bill of health from our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. A very rare Export Model designed with a rotary voltage selector on the back panel, this amp works with worldwide voltages from 117 to 240v. With good reason, the Vibrolux is one of the most desirable Fender Blackface models for its ideal size and power, performing well both on stage and in the studio with shimmering Fender cleans and smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive when you push the amp towards 10 on the volume dial. Clean and sweet up til about 5 on the volume knob (with a perceived volume that’s loud enough to keep up with an aggressive drummer), the Vibrolux has smooth attack and tube rectifier sag, not to mention lush tube reverb and punchy tremolo. This Vibrolux has been thoroughly serviced to balance originality and functionality, boasting a recap of the power supply with Sprague Atoms and a modern three-prong power cable. The original Schumacher-made power and output transformers are intact and date to’66, and the original choke and reverb transformer are present too. The preamp is extremely original and straight, with all of the blue molded Ajax tone caps which are a hallmark of the Blackface sound. The CTS pots also date to 1966. The pair of Tung Sol 5881 (6L6) power tubes sound wonderful and are optimally biased, and the preamp tubes are a compliment of vintage and modern valves which function as intended. The original Oxford 10 10L5 speakers sound fantastic, and both speakers feature original cones which are still tight, yet nicely worked in. The tube chart is fully intact, noting the AA864 circuit with a “QB” date code which translates to February of’67 (customarily the latest date code on a Fender amp). The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact, along with all of the stock hardware and the original raised Fender logo on the amp’s face. The edges of the enclosure show a bit of honest wear from the past half century, but as the photos show, this Vibrolux presents very well. A rare iteration of one of Fender’s best mid-size Blackface combos, this Export Model Vibrolux Reverb is tonally stunning, very original, and fully serviced to sound its best. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Princeton Reverb in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order with the original Victoria Luggage cover, factory booklet, and complete vintage tube set. Extremely clean cosmetically, this collector-grade vintage Blackface Fender amp is a real stunner. The Princeton Reverb is the perfect amplifier for small club gigs and studio sessions, and the Fender AA764 Blackface circuit delivers both well balanced, sparkling cleans and smooth, harmonic rich overdrive when you dime it out. The Reverb is extremely lush and the Tremolo has a nice pulse with a wide range of speeds. The chassis itself is very clean, with all original transformers dating to early’66. All of the famed blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp (an essential part of the Blackface sound), and the original filter and bypass caps are still viable. The power cable is the original two-prong variety too. All of the original CTS and Stackpole pots are intact, dating back to’66. The tubes are all ostensibly original and a drool-worthy compliment, with a matched pair of gray plate RCA 6V6s, an Amperex 5AR4 rectifier and preamp tubes from the likes of Mullard and RCA. The speaker is the original Jensen C10Q, with a clean frame, original cone and gold/brown Fender label on the ceramic magnet. The speaker retains the original harness as well, complete with the original speaker jack with Fender “F” cap. The tube chart is very clean, with a “PF” date stamp from June of 1966. As the photos show, the original black tolex is extremely clean, and the original silver sparkle grillcloth shows sparingly little aging, retaining the raised Fender logo. All of the original hardware is intact and gleaming. This vintage Blackface Princeton Reverb works exactly as it should, sounds great, and is ready for another 50 years of use! The original Victoria Luggage black vinyl cover is intact and a snug fit, and while the cover does have a couple repaired tears on the back, it has no loose edges or rips at present. The silkscreened lettering is still present on the face of the cover too. The original Fender factory booklet that accompanied the amp when new is also intact.
