Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Princeton Reverb in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order with the original Victoria Luggage cover, factory booklet, and complete vintage tube set. Extremely clean cosmetically, this collector-grade vintage Blackface Fender amp is a real stunner. The Princeton Reverb is the perfect amplifier for small club gigs and studio sessions, and the Fender AA764 Blackface circuit delivers both well balanced, sparkling cleans and smooth, harmonic rich overdrive when you dime it out. The Reverb is extremely lush and the Tremolo has a nice pulse with a wide range of speeds. The chassis itself is very clean, with all original transformers dating to early’66. All of the famed blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp (an essential part of the Blackface sound), and the original filter and bypass caps are still viable. The power cable is the original two-prong variety too. All of the original CTS and Stackpole pots are intact, dating back to’66. The tubes are all ostensibly original and a drool-worthy compliment, with a matched pair of gray plate RCA 6V6s, an Amperex 5AR4 rectifier and preamp tubes from the likes of Mullard and RCA. The speaker is the original Jensen C10Q, with a clean frame, original cone and gold/brown Fender label on the ceramic magnet. The speaker retains the original harness as well, complete with the original speaker jack with Fender “F” cap. The tube chart is very clean, with a “PF” date stamp from June of 1966. As the photos show, the original black tolex is extremely clean, and the original silver sparkle grillcloth shows sparingly little aging, retaining the raised Fender logo. All of the original hardware is intact and gleaming. This vintage Blackface Princeton Reverb works exactly as it should, sounds great, and is ready for another 50 years of use! The original Victoria Luggage black vinyl cover is intact and a snug fit, and while the cover does have a couple repaired tears on the back, it has no loose edges or rips at present. The silkscreened lettering is still present on the face of the cover too. The original Fender factory booklet that accompanied the amp when new is also intact. Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Deluxe Reverb, very original and freshly serviced, complete with the original two-button footswitch. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb was produced in the first full year of production for this model, with a “Fender Electric Instruments” faceplate, rare no logo grill, and date codes firmly placing this amp in the Pre-CBS era. Stocked with a matched pair of fresh Electro Harmonix 6V6 power tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp has a sweet, balanced sound that delivers the top end sparkle and clarity characteristic of the best amps from Fender’s Blackface era. This amp is very dynamic, working as a perfect platform for effects pedals and while the treble response can twang with the best, there’s a smoothness to the top end that keeps the amp from ever sounding harsh. Turning it up past 4 on the volume dial, the amp begins to push into overdrive territory with light compression and plenty of sizzle. The Reverb is very lush with long decay and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit is very original and only serviced as strictly necessary to ensure optimal playability. A bevy of original blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp (an essential part of the Blackface sound), and all of the original CTS pots are intact as well, dating to mid’64. The original Schumacher transformers date between the 31st and 33rd weeks of’64. The power supply has been professionally recapped, and the smaller bias and bypass caps in the preamp have been replaced as well, sleeved in their original hollowed out Astron wrappers. A three-prong cable has been installed too. The tube chart is present, with an “NI” date code which translates to September of 1964. The speaker is the original Oxford 12K5-6 with a clean black frame and date code from the 39th week of’64. One of Fender’s (and Oxford’s) rarest speakers, the 12K5-6 was only used in the Deluxe Reverb and this speaker has been recently reconed. Cosmetically, the amp is complete with the original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The grillcloth has aged moderately since’64 and the Blackface faceplate shows very little wear with all of the black witch hat knobs intact. The tolex shows some wear at the corners corners along with some requisite stray nicks and scuffs, and overall this amp presents well. All of the original hardware including the corners, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet) and logo is present. The original two-button footswitch is included. 1969 Fender Deluxe Reverb Combo. Puts out about 35 watts into a 4 ohm load through two 10 Jensen alnico speakers. The amp is in decent overall condition for its age and has all the good ol’ Fender mojo one could ask for. Two replacement Jensen Alnico. Speakers are P10R with serial number 2201250, which indicate that they were made in the 50th week of 2012. Speaker wire and plug is repro from Mojotone. PT serial number: L022723 606-4-27 CSA 827. OT serial number: 022848 8316605. Choke serial number: 022707 606825. Reverb tranny serial number:022921 606-8-42. The pre-amp tubes are all Electro-Harmonix12AX7EH and 12AT7EH (Made in Russia). The 2 power tubes are Electro-Harmonix6L6EH (Made in Russia). The 1 rectifier tube is a new JJGZ34S. Chassis print on right side of rear panel reads A 12166. Audio capacitors have been changed to yellow Mallory 150 M. This amp most likely had the brown capacitors from the factory. Filter caps, Bias cap, and Electrolytic capacitors on the circuit board have been changed at some point most likely due to amp maintenance. Reverb tank and cover are repros from Mojotone. Reverb wire looks original. Cap can is repro from Mojotone. Preamp tube shields are repro from Mojotone. The amp does not come with a footswitch or cover. 1966 KALAMAZOO REVERB 12 COMBO AMP by GIBSON (with Reverb & Tremolo) All tube, point to point! Here is an excellent, nearly all original, 1966 Kalamazoo Reverb 12 Combo Amplifier (made in the USA). Most people recognize the Kalamazoo amplifiers, like the Model 1 & the Model 2 to be great for harmonica, but this one is an outstanding guitar amp! Gibson’s concept for this amplifier was to produce a budget amp with a feature-set that would compete with the Princeton Reverb, sales were through local Mom&Pop music stores. An amazing, growling, smokey, woody tone great rock & blues tones! , early breakup and a nice top end jangle too – probably due to the pair of EL84 power tubes. The prices on these classic amplifiers are going completely through the roof Im seeing people asking as much as six grand so Im accepting the first reasonable offer for my original 1964 Pre-CBS Fender Deluxe Reverb amplifier chassis in a vintage 1960s Gretsch cabinet it was mounted in long ago. An original 1969 Fender OEM output transformer model 022848 output transformer was installed to allow use with a multiple speaker cabinet, all else is original including capacirors. The 606-9-03 code on that output transformer dates it to the third week of 1969. According to literature this 4 ohm output transformer was used in the Bandmaster, Pro Reverb, and Vibrolux Reverb amplifiers so it was most likely robbed from one of those amps. The grill board and grill cloth on the old Gretsch head was cut from an original Fender baffle board (see the outline of where the Fender logo used to be) but the grill cloth is in bad shape and should be replaced if this head is to continue to be used. The only other minor modification I can find is where they opted for a solid state rectifier like the Twin Reverb and I believe the Bandmaster was built during this time period so they soldered in some diodes to the rectifier tube socket and placed a safety across the tube socket to prevent anyone from installing a rectifier tube. This is extremely easy to reverse, just unsolder and remove the two diodes (see photo) and remove the little safety guard from the tube socket (see photo) then you can use a GZ34 rectifier tube. This should take no more than five minutes. I have owned this amp for at least 15 years and have never used it. I was careful to bring up the voltage very slow on my variac when I bought it and it repeated this sequence about a year ago to test it again. The amp sounds fantastic with zero hum the last time I tried it and of course I will bring it up slow and test it once again before it ships. I will include a set of tubes so the amp is ready to plug & play as soon as it arrives. The original power cord is stiff and needs replacing and I recommend installing a three prong with ground anyway for safety. The filter capacitor cover is not missing, I only removed it to show the original brown Mallory filter caps with individual matching factory codes. Up for sale, a 1974 Fender Pro Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Providing the general tonal character of a Twin Reverb, but boasting a tube rectifier and more manageable 40 watts of power, the Pro Reverb is a 2×12 amplifier with enough volume for large ensemble situations and the perfect balance between shimmering Fender cleans and smooth, touch sensitive overdrive. A great platform for effects pedals too, the cleans on this Pro are balanced, clear, and warm. Of course once you reach around 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly, and you get that dynamic, glassy sound that adds just the right amount of grit to your tone. Very original and well maintained, this Pro Reverb is ready for stage and studio use! The circuit is very original and recently serviced, with the original power and output transformers which date to’74. The choke is original as well, while the reverb transformer is a modern factory-spec replacement. The stock CTS pots are all intact as well, dating to the 40th week of’74. The amp retains the majority of the original blue molded capacitors in the preamp, with a couple new Sprague Orange Drops to keep everything operating within original factory spec, and the amp boasts a complete recap of the main filter caps and smaller bypass caps, all with top notch components, along with a modern three-prong power cable. The speakers are the original pair, manufactured by Utah and featuring clean silver and orange labels on the ceramic magnets. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth is intact and in great shape, showing only light wear and still looking surprisingly clean after 45 years. The cloth has minimal aging, and the tolex shows only some light wear on the edges of the enclosure. The stock hardware is in great shape as well including original tilt back legs, chassis straps, corners and handle. This Pro Reverb is a very original and well maintained circuit, and sounds every bit as good as a vintage Fender should! Up for sale, a 1962 Mulitvox Premier vintage tube amp model 100R in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch. Produced by Multivox-Premier in New York, the 100R is an uncommon model with a 1×12 enclosure and both tube driven Reverb and Tremolo. Just serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bat, the two 6V6 driven circuit stays surprisingly clean and warm even at maximum volume. All onboard effects are exclusive to the first channel, and the Reverb is particularly splashy and full with the original reverb pan and controls for both depth and decay. The Tremolo is governed by a pair of knobs as well, with a wide range of speeds and a nice, present chop. Falling somewhere between an Ampeg Reverberocket and a Fender Deluxe in terms of tonal response, the Premier 100R is a lovely and rare amp from the golden age of electric guitar manufacturing. The tag board circuit has been thoroughly serviced as necessary with the majority of the original resistors and capacitors intact, as well as the original transformers. The Clarostat pots date to 1962, and the amp retains the majority of the original Multivox branded tube set. The speaker is a vintage alnico 12 manufactured by Oxford, and the speaker handles the amp’s roughly 15 watts easily and features a new speaker cone. The original two tone textured brown and mustard covering is intact on the amp, and the original polished brass faceplate shows only modest wear with all of the original molded “P” topped knobs intact. The original leather handle is present too and unbroken, and the fragile raised plastic “Premier” logo is fully intact on the amp’s face. The original two-button footswitch is included.
