1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb Vintage Tube Amp Blackface Pre-CBS FEIC AB763 Circuit

Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb was made very early in the second full year of production for this model, with a “Fender Electric Instruments” faceplate, no logo grill, and date codes firmly placing this amp at the very tail end of the Pre-CBS era. Stocked with a matched pair of fresh Tung Sol 6V6 power tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp has a sweet, balanced sound that delivers the top end sparkle and clarity characteristic of the best amps from Fender’s Blackface era. This amp is very dynamic, working as a perfect platform for effects pedals and while the treble response can twang with the best, there’s a smoothness to the top end that keeps the amp from ever sounding harsh. Turning it up past 4 on the volume dial, the amp begins to push into overdrive territory with light compression and plenty of sizzle. The Reverb is lush with long decay and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit retains all of the original Schumacher-made transformers (Fender’s primary transformer supplier in the Blackface era) with date codes from mid-1964. All but one of the original CTS pots are intact, also with visible date codes from’64. The preamp features a host of modern Sprague Orange Drop capacitors, with smaller Sprague electrolytic caps and low-noise metal film resistors throughout. The power supply has been professionally recapped with high quality Sprague Atoms, and a three-prong cable has been installed too. The speaker is a vintage Jensen C12R ceramic driver which dates to the 18th week of 1963, factory spec for this model yet a more recent substitution. The speaker has a clean frame and small Jensen foil label on the magnet. The original tube chart is intact inside the cabinet, with the “Fender Electric Instrument Co” text matching the faceplate, retaining an “OB” date stamp which translates to February of 1965. Cosmetically, the amp is complete with the original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The original grillcloth shows only light, uniform aging on the no-logo baffle, an early feature which only lasted through the first few months of’65. The original faceplate is quite clean and retains a full compliment of witch hat knobs, and the all-important Pre-CBS Fender Electric Inst. Text is present on the faceplate. The tolex shows only some requisite stray nicks and minor edge wear, and all of the original hardware including the handle caps, chassis straps, and sphinx glides (feet) is present. The original two-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1967 Fender Twin Reverb Blackface Vintage AB763 Combo Tube Amp Guitar Amplifier

1967 Fender Twin Reverb Blackface Combo Amplifier. This amp sounds outstanding and is the epitome of Blackface tones. It is all-original except for upgraded vintage 1972 CTS 12E18L speakers, a 3-prong power cord, replaced power supply filter caps, and new properly biased JJ power tubes. Everything else is original. Most parts actually date to 1966, while the power transformer dates to 1967. This was likely made very early 1967. There is zero hum. The reverb is lush and the vibrato works great. There is no static when adjusting any of the controls. This amp sounds excellent at both low and high volumes. Overall this vintage amp is in good working condition with typical cosmetic wear. The grill cloth has a few tiny tears and the tolex has some typical scuffs throughout, but nothing major. The faceplate is good and all lettering is visible, just some standard marks throughout. The handle works perfectly. A previous owner etched some letters on the back corner of the chassis but is barely visible. Most of the tube chart has peeled off. The original tilt back legs work perfectly. Includes the original 2-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch in good working condition. The footswitch has typical marks from usage. Also includes the Fender slipcover in very good condition. Does not include any other accessories. The Twin was Fender’s original two 12-inch speaker tube amp launched in 1952. The original Twin was supplanted by the Twin Reverb in 1963 which has since earned a place as one of Fender’s most iconic amps. Starting in the late’60s, the Twin Reverb switched from Blackface to a Silverface style cabinet. The Silverface editions are less desirable. Years of Production: 1963 – 1982 (later reissued) Notable Twin Reverb Players: John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, Jack White. This is a Beautiful Vintage 1967 Fender Super Reverb Tube Amp. It in Very Good Condition and Fully Functional. The circuitry employs an All-Tube design. Sound-wise, the Amp is Amazing. Very touch sensitive and reactive to a player’s pick attack and the guitar’s volume control. The Fender Super has Reverb and “Vibrato” (actually tremolo). The Reverb gets massive quickly. Plenty of traditional, Fender style drippy spring reverb. The 4-10 speakers are Original and a great compliment to the amp’s tone. This Super Reverb is a clear example of why these amps have been loved by generations of guitarists. It has an exceptional ability to deliver a loud, warm tube sound. This amp has some tears in the tolex and grill cloth. Overall, we would rate a 8.5 out of 10 condition. We will include a Fender Amp cover. Model: Blackface Super Reverb. Year of Production: 1967. 1965 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Blackface Vintage 2x10 Tube Amp AA864 with Jensen C10N

Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Vibrolux Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. With good reason, the Vibrolux is one of the most desirable Fender Blackface models for its ideal size and power, performing well both on stage and in the studio with shimmering Fender cleans and smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive when you push the amp towards 10 on the volume dial. Clean and sweet up til about 5 on the volume knob (with a perceived volume that’s loud enough to keep up with an aggressive drummer), the Vibrolux has smooth attack and tube rectifier sag, not to mention lush tube Reverb and punchy Tremolo. The preamp is 100% original, save for a new bias cap to regulate the power tubes, retaining a full compliment of original blue molded Ajax caps, a key ingredient in the sweet, musical character of Fender’s Blackface circuits. All of the original transformers are intact, manufactured by Schumacher (Fender’s primary transformer supplier in the’60s) and dating to 1965. All of the original CTS pots are intact too, with visible date codes from’65, matching the chassis stamp. The power supply has been professionally recapped with Sprague Atoms. The Jensen 10 speakers are a matched pair of vintage drivers with clean black frames and foil stickers on the ceramic magnets, factory spec for this model yet dating to’66. These speakers are the perfect pairing for the Vibrolux circuit, offering Jense’s hi-fi clarity and articulation. The tube chart is intact, with a faded “OE” date stamp which translates to May of 1966. The pair of brand new Tung Sol 5881 (6L6) power tubes are optimally biased, with a vintage RCA 5AR4 rectifier and an array of modern and vintage preamp tubes from the likes of Amperex and General Electric. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact, with sparingly little tolex wear and uniform aging of the grillcloth. The hardware includes the full compliment of witch hat knobs (with a couple vintage substitutes), raised Fender logo, handle caps, chassis straps, corners, and sphinx glides (feet). Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Pro Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, freshly serviced and complete with the original two-button footswitch. Providing the general tonal character of a Twin Reverb, but boasting a tube rectifier and more manageable 40 watts of power, the Pro Reverb is a 2×12 amplifier with enough volume for large ensemble situations and the perfect balance between shimmering Blackface cleans and smooth, touch-sensitive overdrive. A great platform for effects pedals too, the cleans on this Pro are balanced, clear, and warm. Of course once you reach around 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly, and you get that dynamic, glassy sound that adds just the right amount of grit to your tone. The tube-driven Reverb has plenty of splash and dimension, and the Tremolo has a strong, smooth pulse and wide range of speeds. The circuit has just been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, and the preamp is extremely original, retaining nearly all of the original blue molded Ajax capacitors which are a hallmark of the sweet, musical character of the Blackface-era amps. The preamp features new small bias and bypass capacitors, and the stock CTS pots are all intact as well, dating to late’65. All of the original transformers are intact, manufactured by Schumacher, dating to the last weeks of 1965. The power supply has been freshly recapped with Sprague Atoms, and a modern three-prong power cable has been installed. The tube compliment includes a pair of JJ 6L6 power tubes, along with a Sovtek 5AR4 rectifier, and an assortment of modern valves in the preamp from the likes of Sovtek and JJ. The speakers are the original pair of Utah-made and Fender-branded 12 ceramic drivers with matching date codes from the 18th week of’66. The original speaker harness is intact too. The tube chart is fully intact with crisp corners. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth is intact, with some modest edge wear and a couple bald corners on the enclosure, as well as aging of the grill. The stock hardware includes the original tilt back legs, chassis straps, corners, handle, and sphinx glides (feet). This Pro Reverb has freshly biased tubes and sounds every bit as good as a Blackface Fender should. The original two-button footswitch for engaging the Reverb and Tremolo is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! In excellent working condition. USA made Accutronics Type 8 spring reverb tank. THD PLEXI REVERB 410. Resplendent in its tweed covering and brown grill. Cloth, the Plexi Reverb is the latest in THDs line of variations on the 4×10 Fender. The handbuilt combo features Normal and Bright channels, each with its. Own volume control and dual inputs. Both channels share a common set of treble, bass. Middle, and presence controls. The Plexi extracts 65 watts from a pair of Groove Tubes. EL34s to drive four 10 THD Longhorn speakers. The rear panel, or more correctly the. Underside of the chassis, contains the speaker and external speaker jacks, reverb knob. Effects send and return jacks, and footswitch jack. Theres also a mystery mode switch. Changes output impedance, thats intended as an additional tone control. We tried it-it works. Encased in a fi. Nger-jointed birch-ply cabinet, the THDs circuitry is exposed by. Removing a tweed-covered rear panel and a steel cover plate thats secured by 14 screws. This amp uses seven PC boards and one small bread-board containing the reverb send. The only IC we could fi. Nd is on this circuit, which serves as an impedance buffer. And takes the place of a reverb transformer. The interior is laid out neatly and the parts. Quality is very high. The two EL34s and four preamp tubes are affi. Xed to separate shock. Mounted assemblies; this helps protect the tubes from the kind of banging around theyre. Bound to receive in transit. This is a great idea; anything that prolongs tube life is a real. The reverb tank sits on rubber grommets, instead of being screwed directly to the. This helps to isolate the tank from the cabinets vibrations. The Plexi Reverb is protected by four internal fuses plus an external. A voltage selector is accessible through the steel cover plate; THD says. This selector acts like a Variac. You can set the selector to 140V and the amp. Will respond as if it were getting less than 100V. We tried this trick an found it lowers the. Volume and tightens up the bottom end. Handy meter points and detailed instructions make. This amp particularly easy to bias. The Plexi Reverb is a crunchy, distorted-sounding amp that exudes a strong rock. And roll persona with a bright, snarly, vintage Fender timbre. Plugged into the Bright. Channel, we could set the presence and treble knobs at zero and the tone would still be quite. In this channel, the controls are very interactive; we found that the unused Normal. Volume knob affected the bas frequencies even more than the bass control. Plugged into the Normal channel, the Bright volume knob acted like a notch fi. From 5-8 yielded a cool, skanky midrange dip. At settings above 8, the bass boosted to the. This interaction between channels does not occur to nearly the same. Degree on either the Kendrick 4212 or Fender Reissue Bassman; its the secret to getting a. Great sound from the THD. We A/Bd the Plexi with a particularly juicy 73 Marshall JMP 50-watt head, both. Amps driving similar 4×12 cabs, and found the THD sounded very close to it. Comes with a 12AY7 preamp tube in a special holder. You can swap this for the. 12AX7/7025 in the fi. Rst position for a cleaner sound. Custom mods are also available from. The Plexi, in fact, originated from a customers request. Its now THDs best. Comments: Nice sweet lead tone. Though it looks like a tweed, it sounds. Lots of sounds, thanks to the interactive volume controls. Reminiscent of Eric Johnson. Up for sale is this vintage Fender Princeton non-reverb, which is a good example of the transitional “drip edge/black line” model found in limited numbers during the late 60s. These models are highly sought after as they contain the same circuitry as its black face predecessor, as well as many unique cosmetic markings, which are only found during this transitional period. This particular Princeton Non-Reverb features the following. · Drip Edge the aluminum trim framing around the grill cloth. · Black Line – Note the thin vertical black lines on the faceplate This denotes a Princeton Amp which retains the same circuitry as its Blackface predecessor. · Tail-less logo – this logo was used on a limited number of Fender Amps during the above-mentioned transition period. These logos can be distinguished from later tail-less logos (post 1973) by their smaller size, plastic composition, and no serial number on the back. · Vertical blue stripes added to the grill cloth Grill cloth. Additionally, this is the Non-reverb model which is known for having cleaner headroom, as the lack of the reverb effect introduces less gain into the circuit, allowing the amp to be clearer and punchier, with a sound that has sparkle and chime indicative of the Blackface line and perfect for recording situations. · Model # AA964. · Serial # A 10601. · Ink stamp on inside of Chassis: T89 1268. · Black Transformer: 290 AX JS1867 – 3711 (see pictures). · Gold Transformer: 8316720 May 1967 made by Better Coil & Transformer. · The visible codes on the original CTS pots date to the 42nd week of 66. · The Speaker is a CTS with a code of 137 7220. The condition of this rare Non-Reverb model can be seen throughout the pictures, and it is in excellent working order. It has recently been serviced by local technician referred by Guitar Emporium in Louisville KY. Note: I have researched this amp as thoroughly as possible and have described it as accurately as possible. I will pack the amp as safe as possible and will use thick cardboard with foam & bubble wrap to ensure that it arrives to you safely. MORE PICTURES BELOW IN THIS LISTING! Thanks for checking out our listing and please scroll way down to see other quality images of this item!!! Special valuable vintage guitars, amps, electronics, and other items without their original packaging often require larger or heavier boxes to protect them on their way to you. All MusicGearama item listings for musical instruments, gear, electronics and audio equipment are tested and in great functioning and sounding order unless otherwise noted. We’re maniacs about honest and no surprise item descriptions with good pictures of reality and all pictures shown are for the actual sale item. Thanks for checking out our listing! Looks to me like the nicest example of an all-original Vintage 1964 Fender Deluxe Reverb Blackface seen here in awhile. Aside from the merest of corner rub on the otherwise perfect tolex, this iconic tube amplifier is absolutely as she came from Fullerton Fender Electric shop the year the Beatles invaded America. At worst, there’s just a little bit of clean-up to do on the dust and dust bunnies on the tolex and interior. We did a bit of simple water wipe up and I will leave the serious restorative process up to her new owner’s requirements as she’s perfect under the dust! But, aside from the missing dual footswitch, the amp is in pristine 100% untouched shape. Original everything, the faceplate is immaculate, the tolex is very near mint, and the grille and all else is totally in order. After these pictures, the amplifier received a complete recap using F & T Electrolytic and Sprague Atom capacitors. Hoopla and Whoop do doo aside, these are just the most amazing 22 watts of tube ever conceived by homo sapiens and this is the nicest example ever! Contact with questions or for a Skype!
