This amp was not abused, always transported carefully, played moderately(as in not cranked–classic country band) in gigs for 20+ years. No modifications, it has been serviced as tubes needed replaced but all original. Has the casters for easier transport (it weighs in at a hefty 70 lbs) and a custom cover. Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Twin Reverb in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A freshly serviced and very original example, this Twin’s condition is all the more uncommon given its size. While Fender’s smaller combos of the era can occasionally be found in pristine shape, it’s significantly rarer to find Fender’s gig-worthy large combos (which generally saw much rougher usage) as well-kept as this example. This Twin delivers warm, articulate cleans with ample bass response, a wide-ranging and responsive EQ, and present, sparkling Fender top end. When it comes to the quintessential Blackface Fender amp for clarity, headroom, and the balanced, authoritative response of a four 6L6 driven tube amp, it’s hard to beat the Twin. The tube-driven Reverb effect has incredibly depth and splash, and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with a wide range of speeds. It’s as iconic a design as Leo Fender ever created, also very well-suited to amplifying pedal steel or electric piano in the vein of a Wurlitzer or Fender Rhodes. The circuit is extremely clean and straight, with all of the original blue molded Ajax capacitors in the preamp, a key part of the sweet, musical character of the Blackface-era preamps. The preamp features just a few new electrolytic caps, and even the original Mallory main filter caps are intact and still viable. The power tubes are a quad of properly biased Sovtek 5881WTX (6L6), and the preamp tubes are all matched modern Sovtek-branded valves as well. All of the original Schumacher-made transformers are intact, all dating to mid-1967, and the original CTS pots have visible date codes from the 51st week of’66. The speakers are a matched pair of vintage Oxford 12T6s, both featuring original cones and dating a hair earlier than the amp, with date codes on the frames from the 49th week of’65. These speakers easily handle the power of the Twin, and the speaker harness is original too. The tube chart is intact, stamped with a bold “QH” date code which translates to October of 1967. The original black tolex is exceptionally clean, with sparingly little wear on the edges of the enclosure. The silver sparkle grillcloth shows only modest darkening over the decades, with one small hole that has been cleanly patched from the backside with matching cloth. The faceplate is notably well-kept, retaining its full compliment of original witch hat knobs, and the original backplate is intact too, with the SSN of a previous owner etched into the plate. All of the original hardware is present, including the chrome tilt back legs, nickel corners, sphinx glides, handle, and raised Fender logo on the amp’s face. Up for sale, a 1969 Fender Pro Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, freshly recapped and retubed. A transitional model with “drip edge” aluminum trim and Silverface cosmetics, this amp still retains the same AA165 circuitry as its Blackface predecessor, as well as being one of the last Pros to retain the screwed-in baffle, a tonally impactful feature phased out by’70. Providing the general tonal character of a Twin Reverb, but boasting a tube rectifier and more manageable 40 watts of power, the Pro Reverb is a 2×12 amplifier with enough volume for large ensemble situations and the perfect balance between shimmering Blackface cleans and smooth, touch-sensitive overdrive. A great platform for effects pedals too, the cleans on this Pro are balanced, clear, and warm. Of course once you reach around 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly, and you get that dynamic, glassy sound that adds just the right amount of grit to your tone. The tube-driven Reverb has plenty of splash and dimension, and the Tremolo has a strong, smooth pulse and wide range of speeds. The circuit has just been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, and the preamp is loaded with low-noise metal film resistors, original brown molded capacitors, and modern Sprague electrolytics. All of the stock CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes from 1967-68. The original power and output transformers are intact, along with the original choke, all manufactured by Schumacher and dating between mid-1968 and early’69. The small reverb transformer is a modern replacement. The power supply has been freshly recapped with Sprague Atoms, and a modern three-prong power cable has been installed. The tube compliment includes a pair of JJ 6L6 power tubes, along with a JJ GZ34 rectifier, and an assortment of mostly JJ valves in the preamp as well. The speakers are the original pair of Utah-made and Fender-branded 12 ceramic drivers with matching date codes from the 47th week of’68. The original speaker harness is intact too, as is the tube chart. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe is intact, and the tolex is extremely clean, while the grillcloth shows modest, uniform aging. The stock hardware includes the original tilt back legs, chassis straps, corners, handle, and sphinx glides (feet). The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are in remarkable shape, with only very minor wear around the edges of the cabinet and one small snag on the grillcloth near the lower edge of the baffle. A transitional “drip edge/black line” example, this amp features a set of unique cosmetic cues including a small tail-less Fender logo, aluminum trim framing the grillcloth, and thin vertical black lines on the early Silverface faceplate, denoting a Princeton Reverb which retains the same circuitry and components as its Blackface era predecessor. Freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, the Princeton Reverb is the perfect amplifier for small club gigs and studio sessions. This classic Fender AA764 Blackface circuit delivers both well-balanced, sparkling cleans and smooth, harmonic-rich overdrive when you dime it out. The Reverb is extremely lush and the Tremolo has a nice pulse with a wide range of speeds. The circuit retains the original pair of transformers manufactured for Fender by Better Coil & Transformer, dating between late 1967 and the first weeks of’68. The preamp boasts most of the famed blue molded Ajax tone caps (an essential part of the Blackface sound), along with a few replacement caps, smaller top shelf Sprague electrolytics, and low-noise metal film resistors. The larger multi-section can cap in the power supply has also been recently replaced to ensure trouble-free performance, and the power cable has been upgraded to the modern three-prong variety. All of the original pots are intact, with visible date codes from the 2nd week of’68. The tubes consist of a matched pair of JJ 6V6s with an JJ GZ34 rectifier and a bevy of modern and vintage valves in the preamp. The speaker is the original Oxford 10J4 with a black frame and blue foil Fender label on the magnet. The speaker retains the original speaker harness as well, complete with the original speaker jack with Fender “F” cap. The tube chart is mostly intact and quite aged, with some tape on the edges. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe are intact, with a few bald corners on the otherwise very clean tolex, and light, uniform aging of the grill. The original faceplate shows a speckling of light wear with a full compliment of witch hat knobs, and the hardware includes original chassis straps, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), and small raised Fender tail-less logo. This vintage Princeton Reverb works exactly as it should, sounds great, and is ready for another 50 years of use. The amp comes complete with the original black two-button footswitch to engage the Reverb and Vibrato effects. 1969 Fender Twin Reverb Guitar Amp vintage tube amp. NOT REISSUE, CHASSIS ONLY.. I got this amp because it looks trashed and perfect for hot rod project. But after plugging it in and looking it over it’s almost all original. It really just needs a real faceplate and knobs. Or a Blackface faceplate would work as there’s no master volume. Lots of tone/EQ change when you turn the knobs. I used a short Accutronics 3 spring tank to test and Reverb sounds deep and lush. Tremolo works too and is really deep. There are some spits and crackles when turning knobs but goes away after it warms up. Who knows how long it’s been since it was fired up. All in all a really cool vintage 1969 Fender Twin Reverb in working, but cosmetically challenged condition. RARE, ORIGINAL, WORKS GREAT! High Quality, American Made, Point-to-point wiring. This is a VINTAGE 1976 SANO SUPER NOVA STEREO TUBE AMPLIFIER. Designed to be used for guitar and I suppose accordion. It is complete and functions properly. Controls and inputs have been cleaned, no scratchy pots. Everything works as it should. The cabinet covering shows light wear. The grill cloth is in great shape. This is a solid, road worthy beast; weighs 65 lbs.. Each channel has volume, treble and bass controls. The stereo channel has a second input stage with treble volume and bass volume controls. There are push buttons to engage the reverb and tremolo for each/either/both channels. Made in the U. I honestly believe I was the first person to ever open the back of this amplifier. Nothing has been touched for 44 years. Original transformers, speakers, pots, electrical components, tubes, etc. From what I can tell the amp is completely original with the exception of one of the knobs. Power amp tube lineup… 2-GE 12AU7, Westinghouse 5U4GB rectifier, 2-GE 8417 power tubes. The preamp tubes are also all original… One United Electron 6FQ7 and the balance are USA General electric 9 pins (2-12AX7′s and 2-12AU7′s or 12AT7′s). This has the original 2 prong cord. The side of the fuse holder is damaged and you should consider replacing it if/when you decide to upgrade to a grounded power cord. The speakers are original to the amplifier. Square magnet, Eminence made, 67-7548 codes, so made the 48th week of 1975. Look like they could easily handle 50 watts a piece. This is definitely a clean amp. And I’m saying clean all the way up the volume dial. The 8417 power tubes are designed for high fidelity and that is exactly what you get. Full bass, rich midrange and crystal clear highs. Serious Jazz, acoustic electric and classic country players will love this amp. I would guess it puts out 50-60 watts. Rock and rollers should also consider this amp. This would make a great foundation for pedals if you want your sound to remain constant at all volumes. The tremolo and reverb are very well designed and rival that of the best Fender, Traynor or Ampeg from the same era. That is a bargain. This item is heavy and will require extra time and care to package. I never use UPS. Old electronics are scratched, worn, chipped, cracked, dirty, dusty, stained, ugly, tinkered with, missing parts, etc. The exteriors have wear that includes cuts, holes, tears, scuffs, missing stitching, missing or replaced feet and knobs. In the course of servicing over the years, they typically do not have all original components. Old electronics typically hum and have scratchy controls. As a basic test I have operated this amp for at least 4 hour recently and it did not fail, smoke, blow fuses, etc. Typically easy and inexpensive to maintain, you should be aware, old electronic require maintenance. Old electronic can fail at any time. We will work through the claim together until things are right.
