This is a really clean example from the 1950′s before Magnatone got bought by Estey (Magna Electronics) Speakers are original and never re-coned and sound fantastic. Tubes are not original. New caps where needed (not much) and a modern grounded power cord has been added. Plug it in and rock out. Of course the legendary pitch shifting vibrato is there. In my opinion this is the best vintage Magnatone model ever made. Enough power to play with a band and the tubes aren’t ridiculous to find when you need to replace one. This is the one. If youre reading this, you probably know what great amps vintage Deluxes are. Theres a reason theyre sought after classics. The Fender logo with no tail, no push-pull pot, and chassis serial number dates this amp to 1973. This amp was serviced by David Allen of Allen Amplification to get it ready for sale. David has a national reputation for amp design, building, and repair. It sounds great, and is ready to make beautiful music with your favorite guitar. There are new feet on the bottom. The Tolex is worn through on one of the top rear corners. There is some plating wear on the chassis straps and handle end caps. One of the knobs was missing, so I installed a replacement knob. The speaker is a Fender Eminence speaker. A past owner installed a pair of tweeters. They are unhooked and dont do anything. I left them in to block light from showing through the holes. Overall, this amp is in excellent working condition with typical cabinet wear for its age. SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY, PLEASE! 1967 Fender Vibro Champ Vintage Blackface Tube Amp Class A, Serviced & Retubed

Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Vibro Champ, freshly serviced and retubed. This little Blackface-era Fender wonder delivers five watts of pure Class A tube tone. A gutsy amp with the original alnico 8 speaker, this Vibro Champ has just the right amount of glassy, sparkling clean tone before pushing into smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive at about 4 on the Volume knob. Dynamic, responsive, and absolutely huge sounding when you put a microphone in front of it, it’s hard to beat the Vibro Champ for pure simplicity and great tone. And of course, Fender’s lush sounding tremolo circuit has a strong pulse and wide range of speeds, perfect for subtle shifts in volume or machine gun chop. The circuit has been freshly and thoroughly serviced, with new Sprague Orange Drop caps in the preamp and a few smaller Sprague electrolytics as well. The resistors are a combination of original carbon comps and low-noise modern metal films, and the multi-section can cap in the power supply is also new, along with a new three-prong power cable. All work was done with the aim of providing a roadworthy, studio-ready Vibro Champ with the best possible signal-to-noise ratio and tonal response. The stock Schumacher-made power transformer is intact, dating to the 46th week of’66, while the output transformer is a properly spec’d replacement. The pots are mostly original, with visible date codes from the 29th week of’66. The tube chart is present with a clear “QD” code which translates to April of 1967, rounding out the applicable dates. The tube compliment includes a new JJ 6V6 power tube and 5Y3 rectifier, as well as a couple Mullard 12AX7s. The speaker is the original Fender-branded Oxford 8 with a clean blue Fender foil label on the alnico magnet. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact, along with both original back panels. The original faceplate shows some minor pitting and is complete with a full compliment of stock witch hat knobs. The hardware includes modern handle caps and chassis straps, while the sphinx glides (feet) and raised Fender logo on the grill are original. Fully serviced in-house here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, this Vibro Champ is an ideal example of Blackface tone, ready for stage and studio use. The stock Schumacher-made transformers date between late 1966 and early’67, and the CTS pots date to the 42nd week of’66. The tube chart is clean and intact with a “QH” code which translates to August of 1967. The tube compliment includes a vintage USA-made (likely GE) 6V6 power tube, Sylvania 5Y3 rectifier, and a couple vintage 12AX7s. The speaker is the original Fender-branded Oxford 8 with a clean blue Fender label on the alnico magnet. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are quite clean. The faceplate has only one visible scuff, complete with its full compliment of witch hat knobs. The stock handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), and chassis straps are all intact, and the hardware shows only light surface patina. Both back panels are original, and the tolex shows only light wear on a couple of the corners. These tones are further complimented by a pair of vintage Fender-branded and Pyle-manufactured heavy duty ceramic magnet 12 speakers, which have a smooth, punchy, and surprisingly articulate sound. Perfect not only for guitar, the Twin is an excellent choice for any scenario where headroom is a must, performing equally well with a pedal steel or your favorite Rhodes piano. The circuit is very original, with only a few new capacitors necessitated in the preamp to keep the amp operating to original factory specs. All of the original Schumacher transformers date between 1974 and mid-1975, and the power supply has been professionally recapped with a combination of Ruby and F&T caps. All of the original CTS pots are present as well, dating to’75. The chassis has a clean faceplate and full compliment of original knobs. Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is intact, and the pair of Pyle-manufactured 12 speakers have clean blue foil Fender labels on the ceramic magnets, with clean black frames and viable cones.
