Up for sale, a 1979 Fender Vibrolux Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch and a 100% original, untouched circuit. One of the last amps produced in the original Silverface run, this vintage Fender does everything you’d expect of your favorite mid-size vintage Fender combo, with a balanced, sparkly clean tone and just the right amount of headroom before giving in to smooth tube saturation and overdrive. There’s a reason why the Vibrolux is currently one of the most collectable and sought after vintage Fender amps, as it’s ideal for recording and also the perfect size for club gigs without overwhelming your bandmates. The balanced tone of the two original 10 CTS ceramic speakers matched with a tube rectified 6L6-based circuit simply can’t be beat! Add Fender’s famed tube driven reverb and tremolo on top and you have one of the best tube amp designs ever conceived. The circuit is untouched, with original Schumacher transformers that date to 1979. The CTS pots in the preamp are all intact, also dating to 1979, and the amp has just been given a clean bill of health from our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. The original Mallory filter caps are intact and still viable, and while one cap shows minor leakage, all still function well and are left intact, given the pristine, original nature of the circuit. The speakers are the original pair of CTS 10 ceramic drivers with clean frames, original blue foil stickers on the magnets, and stamps on the frames from the 30th week of’79. The tube chart is fully intact inside the cabinet as well with crisp corners. The tubes consist of a brand new pair of Tung Sol 6L6 power tubes, the original Fender-branded 5U4 rectifier, and a near complete set of original Fender-branded, USA-made valves in the preamp as well. Cosmetically, the amp is very clean with original smooth black tolex silver sparkle cloth with a subtle blue stripe. The black tolex shows very little wear, and all of the stock hardware is intact aside from a brand new pair of sphinx glides (feet). The amp was at one time fitted with casters which have subsequently been removed. All of the turquoise text is bold and present on the Silverface faceplate, and all of the stock witch hat knobs are present too. Up for sale, a 1962 Gibson GA77 RVT Vanguard 1×15 tube amp in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Freshly serviced and extremely original and well-kept, this amp is in many ways Gibson’s equivalent of Fender’s Vibroverb. A two-channel affair with a freshly biased pair of 6L6 power tubes and 15 Jensen C15N driver, this Gibson offers smooth, robust clean tones with both warmth and sparkling top end clarity. Pushing the amp hard at higher volumes delivers a touch of compression and cascades into overdrive, with plenty of ambient splash provided by the spring reverb on Channel Two. The second channel also features a two-knob tremolo with a strong pulse. The trio of original transformers and choke are intact, manufactured by Triwec and Magnetic Components Inc, all dating to 1962. The circuit is hand-wired on a tag board, and the circuit has been fully recapped to ensure optimal functionality and tone. The original pots are intact, along with the full compliment of black reflector caps with red pointers, and the aluminum faceplate retains all of its original silkscreen text. The tube compliment includes a brand new pair of properly biased 6L6 JJ power tubes as well as a host of vintage preamp tubes, many of which are the stock Gibson-branded valves. The speaker is the original Jensen C15N with a clean silver frame, Jensen foil sticker on the magnet cover, and date stamp on the edge of the frame from the 47th week of 1961. The amp retains its original smooth brown tolex and oxblood grillcloth with aluminum trim. The raised plastic Gibson badge is fully intact on the amp’s face, and the stock handle is present too. There’s only light wear on the tolex, primarily on the bottom edge of the cabinet. The original two-button footswitch is included. Fully serviced and very original, this head drives a matched pair of EL34 power tubes, generating an ample 45 watts. Made in Canada and fully hand-wired with giant Hammond transformers, this amp has significant clean headroom and passes a ton of low end. Known as the poor mans Marshall, the circuit can be easily modified to that of a classic 4-input design, yet in its stock configuration the YBA-1 can already harness that rich Tweed-meets-U. Blend which is this Traynor’s sonic signature. With Volume controls for each channel as well as a global EQ, this amp can be used to power a variety of different instruments (such as a bevy of vintage keyboards) or simply a single guitar or bass, providing a bold, clean power amp that works well with effects pedals. This Traynor has abundant low end response, and the large transformers keep the sound tight and full. This YBA-1 has a very original circuit, with all of the original Hammond transformers and a preamp that retains all of the original pots as well as the mustard tone caps which are essential to the tonal color of this head. The power supply includes new F&T capacitors to ensure optimal performance. The amp is currently loaded with a trio of vintage 12AX7 (7025) preamp tubes as well as a matched pair of Sylvania EL34 power tubes. The faceplate retains all of its original knobs, with most of the white screenprinting having been worn away. Smooth black tolex and a silver grill cloth cover the enclosure, with a good deal of scuffing and wear throughout, and there is evidence of black paint on the enclosure, specifically over the chrome bumpers. This Traynor lives up to the company’s reputation of delivering sturdy workhorse amps that perform reliably on stage and in studio situations. This vintage hand-wired Traynor YBA-1 Bass Master Mark II is a true sleeper that has been well played, but remains in top-notch performance condition. Vintage 1965 Harmony H303B “Widowmaker” amp in good working condition. Amp has been fully serviced with Nichicon capacitors, 3 prong power cable wired in correct polarity no shocks! , and a replacement Jensen speaker from 1999. Still has a full compliment of vintage tubes. This amp still has the original grill cloth and rear back panel and is in good shape. Shows some typical wear including snags and discoloration in the grill cloth, wear to the original tolex, and wear to the original leather handle, but overall well taken care of. Was used with a vintage Aloha pedal steel and wasn’t beat on or abused. No smoke or pet odors. Shows normal signs of use and wear for an amp of its age, but overall a really cool little amplifier that works great and has had the right work done to it to keep it running for the next few decades and to prevent any nasty shocks that earned it the Widowmaker namesake.
