Vintage early 60′s Silvertone by Danelectro 1472 combo guitar amplifier. Clean as a whistle. You know you want it! Please don’t miss this listing.. I have given you many more photos below so please scroll down. One owner, all original. Will need a tune up to be tiptop, read below. Sounds great with lots of power and crunch (surprisingly so). It’s obvious why these particular amps are becoming so popular. The sound is so good and addictive that I played through this amp for over an hour the first time I tried it. A poor mans Deluxe. Amplifier appears to be all original down to the Silvertone marked tubes (All but one tube is original). Looking inside appears to be all original and unmolested. Nobody has been in there since it left the factory. The only difference between the 1472 and the 1482 is a few more watts on the 1482. But you give up the better styling for sure. The earlier black tolex and fridge handle slay the cheap econo look of the later 1482. Amp has some hum when playing (to be expected with original caps) but much quieter than I expected. Tremolo works but the full range of adjustment (strength and speed) is between “7-10″. You have to turn the knobs up that high to get the trem effect. This is due I’m sure to drifted values of some electronic components. Original electrolytics which are due for replacement. Physical condition is really sharp and well preserved. I gave it a quick wipedown that was it. Refrigerator handle is perfect with no cracks like you often see. Bottom is perfect with 4 original feet and no tearing or damage. Corners and some edges have some light wear. This is easily the nicest one I have seen listed for sale. All original and untouched in working shape is where you want to start…. Here is a great vintage Silvertone model 4707 tube amplifier. These originally came with a chord organ but they can convert into a really cool guitar amp. I’m thinking from the transformer code, this one would have been made around 1960. It looks to be all original. I haven’t tried to plug it in or test it. Here’s the tube compliment. The 12 speaker is an Oxford. It has some wear and nicks on the outside, especially on one end. The original grill cloth is sagging a little at the top. The back panel is missing. The little fiberboard backing plate for the amp chassis has come loose, it was stapled to the end blocks. The original RCA input jack mounting is broken but I’m thinking you’d replace that input for guitar anyway. Here is a vintage Silvertone 1474 twin reverb amp. The amp and all the controls are working, however, it does pop a lot and is a bit snowy due to its age. The amp does have a nice sound thus, if serviced, you might be able to get it to sound a lot cleaner. The tubes do say Silvertone on them so they are probably old. Included is the vintage foot switch as well. Tremolo and reverb appear to working. See photos for cosmetic condition (reasonably good considering how old it is). It has the usual dings, dust, and scratches, but no major tears on the outside and the cloth front is intact. 1960s Silvertone 1482 tube guitar amplifier. Not in very good cosmetic condition, but the amp itself is in good working order. New three prong AC cord installed. Electrolytics and filter caps replaced -3 prong power cord and safety ground added; AC polarity switch disconnected -pots cleaned -new Weber WOT1484 replacement output transformer installed the stock transformer in these amps is woefully inadequate and they often blow. Weber makes a custom replacement which captures all the sound of the original but is much more sturdy. Reverb works and sounds awesome -tremolo works and sounds awesome..
