VINTAGE QUAD GE (VM LABELLED) 12AX7A AMP TUBES. DATE MATCHED MADE IN 1963 IN THE USA TEST STRONG FOR EMISSIONS NO SHORTS OR LEAKAGE.

This is as clean as you will find as it was stored in a cabinet forever, barely a mark on it, and sounds super clean. I tested all tubes, replaced a couple of 6AN8s and the EL84s are all original Mullard Heathkit. Don’t want to sell it as it is that nice but have too much stereo gear.

All tubes are vintage and all included; some are Mullard etc. I provided some pictures to show the circuitry under the chassis. I plugged it in wall voltage of 120V and the amp worked fine and produced great and balanced music in both channels as shown in the video. Since this amp is very old, it may need services before daily use. At least, the new owner should have some professional to go over it. I did notice the following issues. The fuse holder is bit loose. At times, I had to re-tighten the fuse to power it up. The shaft of TREBLE control pot can be pushed in if you re-install the knobs on it. I inserted a small piece of hard foam behind it (inside the chassis) so it’s fixed, for now. I felt some of the contacts or wirings are not 100% secured. I once pulled out one tube shield and incidentally brushed on something (didn’t know what), causing the left channel silent. That channel recovered by itself a few minutes later. I couldn’t find out the cause. That’s why it’s very good idea to have a professional to service it so you can really enjoy it. Physical condition is really good for the age, much better than many others showed up for sale. The front is beautiful; all knobs are original. Chassis is pretty clean. Meshed cover is good. There may be some screws missing in the bottom plate. Overall, this is a beauty to me. I have other audio equipment, like. Vintage Dynaco Dynakit Stereo 70 ST-70 Amplifier Tube Amp & Cage – Mullard Tubes. Fully tested and 100% functional; this amp will provide that nice warm tube sound to your home stereo system. Tubes are all excellent. The tube complement is all Mullard – 4 x EL34, 2 x ECF82 and 1 x GZ34. The speaker posts were upgraded by the original owner to banana jacks (the right jacks exhibit some wear but nothing that affects performance). In upgrading the jacks, the 16 ohm output has been disabled. The RCAs look to have also been upgraded. Cosmetically, it is overall very good exhibiting only normal wear from over the years. Includes original cage (one screw for the cage does not match). Also includes a copy of the manual/schematic.

Tested rare single mono peri 50 watt power amplifier manufactured in north Hollywood. Powers on but has a hum sound output. I would recommend service for full potential.
