Up for sale, a 1959 Fender Tremolux amplifier, freshly serviced and retaining the original lacquered tweed. One of the most tonally distinctive and sweet sounding amps of Fender’s late 1950s “narrow panel” Tweed era, the Tremolux essentially combined the tonal richness and dynamic, touch sensitive circuit of a 5E3 Deluxe with a bias-based footswitchable tremolo. Powered by a pair of brand new Electro Harmonix 6V6 power tubes, this Tremolux has the same harmonic content, smooth tube breakup and glassy tone of a Deluxe, but the significantly larger open back cabinet on a Tremolux gives the tone more depth, low end and roundness overall! Like any four-input Tweed Fender, the magic really happens when you jumper the two channels and use the independent Volume controls to dial in the perfect amount of clarity and grit. With the addition of Fender’s earliest tremolo circuit (a bias based design that essentially turns on/off the power tubes to create the effect), the Tremolux is a versatile and impressive amp, delivering a trem circuit with a strong pulse and good range of speeds. This true road warrior has been given all the love a real golden era Fender amp deserves, and our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar have carefully gone through the circuit, balancing originality and functionality and using only the best parts available. All of the original yellow Astron tone caps are intact in the preamp, along with the original pots, carbon comp resistors, cloth wire, and mostly untouched solder joints. The main filter caps have been replaced with brand new Sprague Atoms so that the amp is working within original factory spec, and a three-prong power cable has been installed. A miniature bias pot has also been added to the eyelet board so that the tubes can be optimally biased (an option not available via the circuit’s traditional cathode bias method). The transformers are a brand new pair furnished by Mercury Magnetics and made in the USA, closely matching original specs and materials. These are the same transformers used in Fender’s top-tier Custom Shop builds, living up to the high bar set by Fender’s original transformer manufacturers in the era, Triad and Schumacher. The chassis itself is quite clean, and the chrome shows only very light pitting on the face with the majority of the white silkscreen lettering intact (the chrome in fact is so shiny that it was difficult to faithfully capture the lettering in the images, but rest assured it’s there). The original chicken head knobs are all present as well. The speaker is a vintage Jensen C12Q, rated at roughly 35 watts and the perfect match for the output of the Tremolux which is decidedly more modest than what the speaker can handle. The teal frame is quite clean, with a date stamp from’63, intact bell cover and original Jensen label. The tube chart is also present on the inside of the cabinet. The original “Tremolux” metal badge on the face of the amp is present, while the leather handle and sphinx glides (feet) are modern replacements. The original tweed is intact and as the photos show, it has been ambered and scuffed from decades of honest use. The most prominent wear on the pine cab is on the front bottom edge with a few bald spots. While the lower back panel is original, the upper back panel is a modern replacement, aged to closer match the wear on the tweed. The baffle is also a brand new solid pine replacement from MojoTone, fitted with new Oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe as per spec for the Tweed era. This Tremolux has been freshly serviced and is ready for stage and studio use! Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to assure that your amp arrives safely. International orders will be declared as merchandise, and the value of merchandise will be declared as the amount paid. We cannot declare anything as a gift or for a lesser value. This is a Peavey Classic 50 Tweed head from the mid 90′s. It is an incredible amp. When you turn it up it gets even better. If you throw a Tube Screamer in front of the lead channel… You can get some great 70′s rock tones aka Van Halen, Tom Petty, 38 Special, Journey….. Anything Bluesy or Classic Rock from the 70′s and 80′s is right in the sweet-spot of this great amp head. The Clean channel is very American Fender-like. Perfect for SRV stuff like Riviera Paradise. I do not have the user’s manual. Peavey has it available on their website and you can download it. Original box is not included either. These Peavey Heads are extremely reliable, and durable. The Tweed tolex is in pretty good shape, although it does have a few dings and scratches which I have shown (See Photos). The tubes are still good. The Caps and pots are working fine. The FX loop works good too. I removed a lot of rust from the mirror faceplate and some of the numbers in white around the Black Chicken-head knobs has worn off… And it did leave little rust “bumps” on there as shown (See Photos). The handle is a little worn as you can see in the photos as well. Overall this Peavey Classic 50 is in good shape for an amp 20+ years old. Please look at all of the photos to evaluate it’s overall condition. Here is some more info. Made in the USA. 2 Channels (Normal / Lead). 4 Power tubes (EL84). 3 Preamp tubes (12ax7). 4/8/16 ohm switch with two OUT jacks. Normal and Bright Input jacks. 1961 Fender Champ Tweed Amp with 5F1 circuit. This vintage amp includes all original parts except for the rear panels and it has just been fully inspected and serviced with zero issues. There is typical cosmetic wear in the tweed covering throughout, and a tiny tear in the speaker grill cloth. The original handle works perfectly but has typical wear. All lettering and numbers on the control panel are visible. The original speaker is included but has been swapped for a USA Mojotone. A few caps were replaced when it was serviced but all originals are included. This is an extremely loud and fantastic sounding amp for its tiny size, which is why the 5F1 Champ is so highly regarded. The Fender Champ evolved out of the Champion 600 and 800 which launched in the late’40s. Originally, the Champ was a tweed-covered 4 watt amp with a 6-inch speaker. All of these details would evolved during its production run, with a switch to a black cover coming in 1964. Years of Production: 1953 – 1982 Features: 5-watts, 8-inch speaker, two inputs, volume control. Up for sale, a 1959 Fender Champ in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Simple, elegant and clean enough to satisfy collectors and serious players alike, this vintage Champ boasts its original lacquered tweed and hallowed 5F1 circuit. It doesn’t get much more pure than the Champ, and this studio favorite delivers freakishly dynamic and glassy pure tube tone that can go from clean to fully saturated overdrive with a twist of the single knob. This particular Champ has been well cared for over the decades and is stocked with the original Oxford 8 speaker. The circuit has been serviced and professionally recapped, and the preamp is untouched with original yellow Astron tone capacitors. Both transformers are original, and the chassis itself boasts a chrome faceplate with all of the original white lettering stock chicken head knob too! , despite some surface pitting. The original Stackpole pot dates to the 19th week of 1959, and the Oxford speaker dates to the 35th week of the same year. The tubes are all vintage valves including a Sylvania 6V6 power tube. Cosmetically, the original lacquered tweed shows some minor scuffs and a touch wear around the corners, but overally the tweed looks particularly great and uniformly ambered, with original nailed in feet and even the original leather handle! Both back panels are original as well as the baffle, which retains the original oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe. This Champ is cool as can be with a well maintained circuit, Oxford speaker, fresh tubes and stock lacquered tweed covering. Don’t miss out! Vintage ORIG 1957 National Aztec Tweed 15 Valco Guitar Amp 7581A Tubes (KT-66)

1957 National Aztec Valco 1240T in great, original condition. Aztec, was a National designed amp manufactured by Valco and has a completely different large single speaker approach than earlier Aztec 3 speaker oval speaker type construction. This is the National design built by Valco with Orange identification for each tube socket. Multiple pre amp tubes (some NOS) are included, and offer shielded (can-type) or un-shielded socketing. Cabinet is 18x20x9 which tapers at the top on the back side to 8 inch depth where a mirrored panel provides 2 Regular Inputs, 1 Treble Input, and 1 Microphone Input. 1 Volume & Tone adjust the 3 Instrument Inputs, while 1 Mic Volume Control adjusts the single microphone Input. The “Tone Control” works across all channels, including the Microphone Input. The cabinet houses a single 15 speaker with a closely mounted output transformer mounted to the side of the cab. The upper deck houses the Controls and Power/Fuse/Indicator and other controls. There is a Tremolo footswitch and separate switchable Volume/Depth control with on/off. Power for the unit is operated by the Instrument Volume control. There are three Shielded Tubes also contained in the upper deck. The lower deck at the base houses the power supply and power output tubes, rectifier and transformer. Comes with original 9 foot 2 prong cord. (a three prong grounded adapter will be properly plugged-in). Designed and manufactured for 6L6-type tubes this amp has the higher output version, more closely matching the popular British KT-66. These 6L6 type are 7581A Tubes matched for this National. The 35 watt 7581 over the 30 watt 6L6 usually carry about a 20% higher cost. USA branded logo on the tube glass. Speaker is a 15 inch alnico type. 7581A spec design refers to the 5% higher output over 6L6 type, in all other ways, specification wise, they are functionally equivalent to 6L6 but closer to the KT-66. Speaker directly wired to a secondary off the stand alone mounted output transformer. All the small signal tubes are shielded. 2 are in Can-type octal-sockets and one has a surround shield in a 9-pin. Pictures in the upper deck show the tube type in Orange on a shielded frame under the top of the amp. The AMP base tubes are also are labeled in bright Orange. The amp is relatively quiet until about mid-volume when it begins to demonstrate its power. The Tone range is very broad and pleasant. Due to the typical higher amplification demands of a Microphone the gain seems higher on the MIC channel/Volume, and it is hotter and while the regular inputs bring solid strength to the sound, the Mic input really cuts through and offers and leans towards distortion at higher levels, with an edge. This model utilizes a permanent magnet as demonstrated by holding the knife on its edge in one of the photos. The tweed and faux wood grain have seen their share of loving use and a bit of abuse as well, with corners now well worn as is common for amps with over forty years of use. At this point, the tremolo will wobble about once or twice when the control is switched on, and then stops with no effect on the sound beyond the initial vibes. It has been this way for at least 10 years, and I really never use it anyway, so I never had it serviced, and I did not want the circuitry touched. (no irons have been laid it). I use a 2-3way grounded adapter with it to ensure it is plugged into AC correctly, reversed it’s capable of a shock. In a studio environment, the Aztec was always chassis grounded and’float’ not possible for side chain, and was run’cold’ chassis. The Instrument input uses a 5879 shared with the tremolo circuit, the regular inputs are direct coupled and the treble is. This is the warm tube used in Gibson’s Les Paul amp. The Mic input uses a 6SJ7 and has a grounded cathode without bypass and is de-coupled with a. 01uf capacitor at input. In schematic, it’s even easier to see, the “I” channel and the “M” channel meet up at the post amp before mains at a point where the “Tone Control” is designed to do it’s job. The versatility works great in studio settings. The smoother tone of the 5879 channel can fit many situations, while the hotter 6SJ7 overloads nice. This amp is best suited to anyone looking for’tone’ over distortion. Here is an observation from an individual talking about the 5879 pentode. A 5879 is used in Gibsons GA-40 of the late fifties. This pentode fits the same 9-pin socket as dual triodes (12AX7), but require very different circuitry. The 5879 is known for thick, robust sound and have higher gain factors than a 12AX7, but arent prone to distorting the way that dual-triodes can. A complete set of pre-amp t ubes matching this amp are included in boxes in addition to the ones currently in socket. Note: NO 7581A tubes and NO 6L6 are in ANY “boxed items ” – it ships with 2 7581′s in socket only. The boxed items are New original Old Stock pre amp tubes , and offer replacement for top level Pre-Amp section, one has both GT and CAN choice, for the 9-pin, one tube is used and good, and offers a NOS choice as well. Thanks for looking, and God bless you. Note: If considering for professional road work, I would match it with an Anvil case, have an isolation transformer mounted inside and earth ground the chassis. If the price is too high, then it’s not for you, but thanks for looking and your attention is very much appreciated. It will also have the phased (2-3 way) adapter properly connected to the amp’s original non-phased power plug for safe AC use. The item “Vintage ORIG 1957 National Aztec Tweed 15 Valco Guitar Amp 7581A Tubes (KT-66)” is in sale since Friday, October 13, 2017. 1956 Fender Deluxe Tweed Pre-CBS Narrow Panel Vintage Tube Amplifier 5E3 Circuit

Up for sale, a 1956 Fender Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Few circuits are more desired and emulated than the narrow panel Tweed 5E3, and this amp delivers everything you’d expect from a classic and well cared for amp from the last iteration of the Tweed line. Incredibly dynamic and harmonically rich, the Deluxe can be glassy and clear at low volumes, but for most players the magic is in this amp’s overdrive capabilities. Especially when connecting the two channels with a small jumper 1/4 cable, the interactive pair of Volume controls can dial in everything from fully saturated roar and snarl, to the particular sweet buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite that you often times can’t coax out of any other Tweed circuit. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals and different guitars, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using your volume knob to coax clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob. The circuit is very original and only maintained as strictly necessary, balancing originality and functionality. The preamp features original Stackpole pots and carbon comp resistors, as well as all of the original yellow Astron tone caps. The power amp has been professionally recapped as well, and the new caps have been sleeved in the original Mighty Midget wrappers for a seamless vintage look. Both of the original transformers are intact, and the amp is loaded with a full compliment of vintage tubes including a matched pair of Sylvania 6V6s and General Electric and Amperex valves in the preamp. The speaker is a genuine, era-correct Jensen P12R alnico 12 speaker with an immaculate teal frame and Jensen sticker. This speaker dates back to 1958, and retains the original speaker harness with cloth covered wire and stock 1/4 input as well. The other most pertinent date code is the “FH” stamp on the very clean tube chart, which translates to August of’56. The chrome on the chassis is incredibly clean, shining like few Tweeds still do with all of the original white text present along with stock chicken head knobs. In similar condition, the original tweed and oxblood grillcloth show only light wear on the edges of the enclosure, with ambering of the lacquer on the tweed, and some requisite minor scuffs and corner wear. The leather handle is a modern replacement as is the upper back panel, while the lower back panel is original. It’s an example that will satisfy collectors and serious players alike, and the amp has recently been given a clean bill of health, ready for your next gig or studio session. Up for sale, a 1957 Fender Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Competitively priced with a new tweed speaker cabinet, original and freshly reconed Jensen P12R speaker, and recently serviced chassis, there are few circuits that are more desired and emulated than the narrow panel Tweed 5E3 Deluxe. This amp delivers everything you’d expect from a classic and well cared for amp from the last iteration of the Tweed line. The circuit has been thoroughly maintained, with a professional recap of the main filters, a three-prong power cable, and USA-made transformers courtesy of Classic Tone. The preamp is stocked with early’60s blue Ajax tone caps as well as two newer Alpha pots and one original Stackpole tone pot (with yellow Astron cap) that dates to the 23rd week of 1957. The original Jensen P12R alnico 12″ speaker is present and has the original Jensen “Alnico 5 sticker, dating to the 21st week of 1957 on the edge of the frame. The speaker has the original harness with cloth covered wire and stock 1/4 input as well, and the speaker has been professionally reconed in the amp’s lifetime. The amp features a new tweed speaker cabinet with the original speaker baffle, oxblood grillcloth, and “Fender Deluxe” badge on the face. The chrome on the chassis shows plenty of wear, yet some of the original white silkscreen text is still present and the stock chicken head knobs are also intact. This is an exquisite sounding 5E3 Deluxe that has been recently given a clean bill of health and is ready for your next gig or studio session!
