Rare Vintage 1959/1960 USA Gibson Invader Tweed Tube Guitar Amp Amplifier. This guitar amp is in very good condition. The Amp Still Has All Its Original Tubes And Original Two Prong Power Cord. Amp has been recovered. Basically This Is The Equivalent Of A Fender Princeton Amp With A 15 Speaker. It Works And Sounds Great. THE ORIGINAL FORBES MUSIC BRONZE LOGO IS STILL INTACT AND ON THE AMP CABINET. THEY WERE WERE ORIGINALLY DESIGNED FOR ORGANS BUT ALSO MAKE A FINE GUITAR AMP. THE ORIGINAL TOLEX AND SPEAKER GRILL CLOTH HAD TO BE REMOVED DUE TO A PREVIOUS OWNER SPRAY PAINTING IT WITH NUMEROUS COATS OF GLOSS BLACK PAINT THAT COULD NOT BE REMOVED. I’VE HAD THE AMP RECOVERED IN NEW VINTAGE CORRECT TWEED TOLEX, NEW VINTAGE CORRECT OXBLOOD SPEAKER GRILL CLOTH WAS INSTALLED, THE ORIGINAL JENSEN 15 SPEAKER WAS PROFESSIONALLY RECONED AND I RECENTLY HAD IT SERVICED BY A PROFESSIONAL AMP TECNICIAN WHO REPLACED THE POTS, FILTER CAPACITORS AND A FEW RESISTORS AND ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITORS. Up for sale, a 1956 Fender Princeton in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. This narrow panel Tweed amp has absolutely stunning and virtually un-ambered original tweed, and is one of the more impressive golden-age Fender amps to come through our shop of late. With its narrow panel configuration, this Princeton is considered the “big box” version, with a cab that’s far larger than the single 8 alnico speaker requires, and the resulting sound is deceptively round and rich for the relatively small speaker size. The circuit couldn’t be more simple and pure, with single Volume and Tone knobs and a Class A circuit design, powered by a single 6V6 power tube. The tone is articulate, dynamic and commanding, with the sizzle and churning overdrive of a Champ, but with more tonal range and fuller low end. The top end response is just right, and the amp doesn’t get too trebly, making the tone control quite usable for dialing in exactly as much zing and snap as you desire. The circuit is very original and only serviced as necessary for optimal functionality, retaining the original Triad transformers. The original Stackpole pots, carbon comp resistors, and yellow Astron capacitors are intact, with the Stackpole pots dating to the 47th week of 1955. The power supply caps and smaller electrolytics have been replaced with high quality modern Spragues, and all original Astron Mini Mite electrolytics are included, along with the two-prong power cable (a three-prong is currently installed). The tubes include a vintage RCA 6V6 and Sylvania 5Y3 rectifier along with a modern Mullard 12AX7. The speaker is original and a particularly rare alnico Jensen. The speaker has the signature of the Fender employee who wired the circuit on the edge of the frame, and the speaker is also stamped “FE” just north of the magnet, matching the identical stamps on the chassis and tube chart. The tube chart is notable for its well-preserved condition, with perfect corners, handwritten serial number, and “FE” date stamp which translates to May of 1956. The inside of the cabinet is stamped for Torp’s Music Center and Dancing School in St. Paul, Minnesota, presumably the original purchaser of this amp in 1956. Torp’s also added a mini badge to the lower face of the amp, and clearly this amp never saw much use at the Music Center, given its stunning cosmetic condition. There is barely any ambering of the original tweed, with only extremely minor edge wear. The faceplate is extremely clean, with all of the white silkscreened font, shiny chrome, and a pair of original chicken head knobs. A new leather handle has been installed, yet the original is also included (split at one end). This amp is a true rarity given its condition, and this particular example has been carefully tested and inspected to ensure originality and ideal functionality. Any original parts which necessitated replacement are included, such as capacitors, the two-prong power cable, and leather handle. Vintage Fender Bronco Tweed Tube Amp 6 Watt Guitar Amplifier Rare Powers On. Anything beyond is at buyers expense. A great amp that is pretty rare. Powers on and seems to work. Apparently I had the tubes backwards when I had it listed earlier not working. Tested the tubes and all were good, I did replace one. It was good, but didn’t have as much life as it should. So you should be good on the tubes for awhile. I plugged in a mic and was able to hear it in the back of our shop so it does work. See pics for more details of the true physical condition. It does have some wear and scars, but that just shows it’s lived. Ask questions in advance and while no expert in amps, will do my best to get you an answer. Up for sale, a 2018 Vintage Sound 40BR amplifier head and matching 2×10 cabinet in near mint condition and in perfect working order. Based on the revered Brownface Vibroverb circuit, this 40BR is a point-to-point hand-wired amplifier utilizing top quality electrolytics, carbon comp resistors, Orange Drop tone caps, solid core push-back wire, and custom transformers that are hand-wound in the USA. The head and cabinet take an aesthetic page from Fender’s 1950′s playbook with diagonal ambered lacquered Tweed and Oxblood grillcloth, with a forward-facing deep brown faceplate and full compliment of cream barrel knobs. As Fender’s first reverb-equipped combo and an amp that can command a five figure price tag on the vintage market, the 1963 iteration of the Vibroverb is captured in all its glory in Vintage Sound’s 40BR. A welcome addition to any player’s arsenal, this amp delivers the bold cleans, and warm, textured overdrive of the early Vibroverb circuit, as well as the splash and decay of true tube-driven spring Reverb and the pulse and chop of the bias-based Tremolo circuit. The select pine cabinet is constructed with dovetail joints and features a birch ply baffle, loaded with the stock pair of Warehouse G10C speakers. A tube rectified, 6L6 driven affair, the circuit features a matched pair of TAD 6L6s, with a TAD GZ34 (5AR4) rectifier and a host of dual triode preamp tubes, also branded TAD and Electro Harmonix. The head features adjustable bias points, an Ohms selector for 2, 4 or 8 ohm cabinets, and a Dwell knob, providing additional control over the Reverb effect. Cosmetically, this amp is positively pristine with virtually no wear to report on the lacquered tweed. The original two-button footswitch is included. You have found a great condition 1959 Gibson GA-18 Explorer amp. This is a vintage, original GA-18, not the GA-18T, which was produced in 1960-61. The 1959 GA-18 had the 10 Jenson Special Design speaker, but otherwise the specs are the same. The listing includes the following original elements of the Explorer. Tweed and grill cloth. Normal wear shown for this vintage: staining and variation in the tweed, scuffs, etc. As shown in the images, the grill cloth has one broken thread and a small rash in one spot. These were there when I. This amp and I’ve not attempted a repair. Otherwise the grill cloth is fabulous and the Gibson badge is perfect. Jenson 10 speaker is. Dated 1st week of 1960. Foot switch in very good condition. All feet in place. What’s not original. A few replaced caps. A new 3 prong grounded cord has been installed for safety. A custom cover has been added, which is in new condition. Tubes of course have changed since. But vintage tubes are in the power section. The GA-18 has great tremolo and the pedal works as it should. This just sounds as fabulous as it looks. The GA-18 has the following tube types, and here’s how it’s currently populated. Two 12ax7 preamp tubes, (currently has Groovetubes GT12AX7M tubes). Two 6v6 power tubes (currently has Philips 6V6GTA tubes). One 5y3 rectifier tube. (currently has Magnavox 5Y3GT). If you would prefer a specific shipper the costs may be higher. All Sales Final.
