Up for sale, a 1954 Fender Super, complete a pair of Jensen P10R alnico 10 speakers. A “Wide Panel” Tweed amp, this particular iteration of the Super is one of the earliest examples of the 5D4 circuit, only available from 1954-55. The Tweed Super is the baby brother of the Bassman in many respects, offering the same harmonic rich, dynamic tones in a more studio friendly and portable enclosure. The low end is wooly and thick, the midrange has just the right amount of punch, and the top end is classic’50s Fender with detail and balance that few other amps can match. Clear and present, with incredible low end response even at low volumes, the Super allows you to easily dial in the right amount of bite and a touch of overdrive when you dig in. After around 4-5 on the volume dial, the amp cascades into full tube saturation, with sweet, singing overdrive. Thoroughly maintained, this Fender Super sounds every bit as good as vintage amp lore would suggest. The circuit has just been gone through by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, and the preamp boasts a bevy of original Black Cat tone caps as well as the original trio of Stackpole pots which date to’54. An original Astron “dynamite” cap is coupled to the Tone control, and the majority of the original resistors are intact too. The power amp has been professionally recapped with Sprague Atom capacitors to ensure optimal performance and stability. The power transformer is the original Triad, and the open bell output transformer appears original or at least era-correct, dating to 1954 although the leads have been spliced. On the faceplate, the stock chicken head knobs are intact and a modest amount of the original white lettering is present as well. The 5D4 circuit was also the first Super to feature a Standby switch, like the example seen here. The amp is fitted with a pair of vintage Jensen P10R speakers with very dark green frames and professional recones, dating to the first weeks of 1960. The stock tube chart is present and quite clean, denoting the 5C4 circuit, but also modified by hand at the factory to reflect the updated tube compliment of the 5D4 circuit (a common occurrence given how quickly circuits changed in the’50s and Leo Fender’s propensity to not waste anything). The amp has an older and extremely well executed retweed, very faithful to original spec and lightly aged. The lower back panel, in contrast, does have its original tweed covering. Comparable only to the Bassman in terms of Fender’s tweed dual 6L6 offerings, the Super is a standout favorite among collectors and players alike! Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. The item “1954 Fender Super Tweed Wide Panel Vintage Tube Amp 2×10 with Jensen P10R, 5D4″ is in sale since Tuesday, June 25, 2019. 1959 Fender Tremolux Vintage Tweed Tube Amp 100% Original with Jensen P12Q & Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1959 Fender Tremolux amplifier in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the stock “doorstop” wooden footswitch. One of the most tonally distinctive and sweet sounding amps of Fender’s late 1950s “narrow panel” Tweed era, the Tremolux essentially combined the tonal richness and dynamic, touch sensitive circuit of a 5E3 Deluxe with a bias-based footswitchable tremolo. Powered by a pair of 6V6 power tubes, this Tremolux has the same harmonic content, smooth tube breakup and glassy tone of a Deluxe, but the significantly larger open back cabinet on a Tremolux gives the tone more depth, low end and roundness overall. Like any four-input Tweed Fender, the magic really happens when you jumper the two channels and use the independent Volume controls to dial in the perfect amount of clarity and grit. With the addition of Fender’s earliest tremolo circuit (a bias based design that essentially turns on/off the power tubes to create the effect), the Tremolux is a versatile and impressive amp, delivering a trem circuit with a strong pulse and good range of speeds. The circuit is completely stock and untouched, with all of the original yellow Astron tone caps in the preamp, along with the original pots, carbon comp resistors, and cloth wire. Even the original Mini Mite Astron caps are present, along with the stock gray two-prong power cable. All of the original transformers are intact with late’59 date codes, and the pots date to the 50th week of’59 as well. The chassis itself is particularly clean, with chrome plating that has ample shine and virtually all of the original white silkscreen lettering intact. The original chickenhead knobs are all present as well. The speaker is the original Jensen P12Q, rated at roughly 35 watts and the perfect match for the output of the Tremolux which is decidedly more modest than what the speaker can handle. The teal frame is quite clean, with clear date stamps, intact bell cover and original Jensen label. The tube chart is also present on the inside of the cabinet and a particularly nice example, with an “IL” date stamp that translates to December of 1959. All of the original hardware is intact including the elusive leather handle. Other stock hardware includes the “Tremolux” badge on the face and four sphinx glides (feet) on the bottom. The original tweed is intact and as the photos show, it is in particularly nice shape, with sparingly little wear around the corners. The original oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe is also intact and well preserved and this is a particularly tidy vintage example with tweed that has aged to a light shade of amber. This Tremolux is a clean, no-excuses, collector-grade example with a stock circuit, clean chrome faceplate, original tweed, and stock brown single button wooden footswitch. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Fender Super Champ XD Vintage Modified Tweed Tube Amplifier – 12 Speaker. In immaculate condition, this Fender Super Champ XD is part of the Vintage Modified series. Fender proves that everything old is new again. Merging a great 15-watt Class AB tube amp with modern touches such as DSP and Amplifier Voicing Control with 16 different amp voicings that offer up everything from metal to jazz tones. The Super Champ XD features an array of effects to inspire forays into new sonic territory. With the popularity surrounding low-wattage tube amps and their use as recording amps in recent years, the Super Champ XD is right at home in a studio situation! This amplifier was used in my smoke-free home studio only never used for gigs, although I could have. As with most Fender amps this amp takes to pedals very well. I upgraded the power tubes to a set of JJ 6V6 S power tubes and the preamp tube to a 12AX7 Mullard tube. The amplifier is housed in a custom built oversized tweed pine cabinet which houses a Fender Blues Jr. With these tubes and the larger cab this amp is another level up from an already versatile stock Super Champ XD. You wont see a lot of these like this for sale, a really versatile amp with Fender tone. I have removed the tubes and wrapped them in bubble wrap and put them into a separate box. Fender Super Champ XD Features. Tube Amplifier with DSP. Output: 15 watts (Class AB). Channels: Two (Normal and Amp Voice). “Voice” Control with 16 Different Amp Voicings. External Speaker Output Allows use with External Speaker Cabinet. Line Output to PA or Recording Interface. Red Jewel Pilot Light. Covering: Tweed with Ox Blood grill Cloth. Vintage 1950′s Fender Princeton Tweed Tube Amplifier Guitar Amp. Offered here is a Vintage Fender “Princeton” Amplifier. Made in the 1950′s by Fender Electric Instrument Mfg. Not sure what specific year it was made. On the tube chart on the inside of the amp, the serial no. Most parts appear to be original, but I’m not certain. It has a Jensen. The tubes are likely not original. The handle is a replacement. The amp is functional. The plate for the controls on the top of the amp is worn; I don’t see any lettering/numbering on its face, except for a portion of the “Princeton” model name.
