Vintage McIntosh Mc240 Stereo Amplifier. This 240 Amp is recently restored by professional including a full set of old stock US made tubes. All capacitors have been replaced with those of equal or higher specifications. Electrolytics are Panasonic brand caps. RCA jacks were replaced with gold plated teflon units. There is a known issue with this AMP : one channel seems to be louder than another. I think it may need to further tested and fixed. Other than that, this AMP is in working condition. My price is reflecting this issue. A good bit of “patina” and signs of age as shown in the pictures. The MC-240 has a unique design that makes it much easier to live with than many other tube amps, old and new. Due to a special transformer design, no bias setting is necessary. It is also not a requirement to used matched pairs or quads. A perfect choice for someone new to tube amps, or a veteran that is sick of tweaky unreliable tube power. However, please know that this is a vintage item. It is not a brand new machine. All sales are final. Unit does Not have any pitting or rust but do have some stain on chassis and many lettering rub off. Unit just came out of service to change out one bad cap please look at last picture and you will see the blue cap thats just replace everything else all original. Unit work and play excellent. Vintage Fisher X-101-B tube amplifier in good working condition. I recapped and retubed this amplifier 12 or more years ago, used it briefly and then put it on a shelf. I need the space now so I put it on the bench and tested it out. This unit is in good working condition. All inputs test good and all outputs test good. Note that this model has both ceramic and magnetic phono inputs and adjustable gain for these inputs plus a center channel. Selectable speaker impedance – note the funky connection in the photos of the rear panel. Only the 8 ohm impedance was tested. Good working Electro-Harmonix (Russian) 7591A output tubes and a mix of RCA and Telefunken 12AX7 drivers. Good working 5AR4 rectifier tube. Original Fisher molded cord and plug. Face is in good condition with minor wear. Some knobs and knob caps were replaced years ago. A couple of screws are missing. Missing two tube shields. One of the two-prong outlets on the back is cracked. Big rubber replacement feet on the bottom. This unit is in working order. Yes, I will pack it well!
