Up for sale, a 1961 Harmony Bass Amp model H322 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A rare and unusual vintage tube amp made for Harmony in the USA by Lectrolab, the H322 is, like the Fender Bassman before it, an amp marketed for bass and best suited for guitar. With a single channel and pair of fixed bias 7591 power tubes, the H322 delivers a rich tone via a quad of vintage RCA-branded 8 speakers. Not a particularly bright amp, the H322 has very responsive Treble and Bass controls and a Volume knob that’s best set all the way to its max. In fact, maxing out all the knobs seems to be this amp’s preferred state of being, and the distortion is positively thick, wooly, and raucous. It’s a dynamic and touch sensitive amp that a perfect apartment companion, studio secret weapon, or club gig powerhouse (with a microphone in front of it). And while the amp easily pushes enough volume on its own merits to compete with some drummers, its wattage and size make it a particularly versatile tube amp to have in your stash. The circuit has just been fully serviced and recapped as necessary, and all original transformers are intact. Like one would expect with a vintage bass amp, the transformers are quite generous in their size and are largely responsible for the power and fullness this amp can deliver. The tubes are all vintage and largely original, with EICO branded preamp tubes made by Mullard, and USA-made EICO 7591 power tubes. The speakers are a quad of alnico RCA-branded 8 speakers that date to 1957. Cosmetically, the amp is quite clean, with original white silkscreen graphics on the blue hammerite faceplate and stock white chicken head knobs as well. There is one silver plug on the faceplate from a previously removed mod. The original tolex and grillcloth are present along with the original back panel, and the dark grayish blue covering on the amp has held up well over the decades, especially given how this material is much more fragile than the tolex used by other manufacturers. We hope you enjoy the photos and information presented herein. If you have any questions. The Sunn 200S model has a simple all tube design. Basic volume, treble, bass and a low and high boost switch make this amplifier straight forward but powerful and has a beautiful natural tone. This amp is powered by two 6550 tubes delivering somewhere between 60-75 watts of output. If you want that classic Mountain growly-bass sound, this is the amp that will deliver it. Depending on the cabinet you run it through you can get a bevy of different tones that have different classic vibes but is always all Sunn. When pushed through a 4×10″ or 4×12″ you can get some of that classic Marshall 50w crunch but a little bit more warmth and fatness. Through a bass cab, something with substantial sized speakers, you can get crazy fat tones that are bone shattering. There is one Dynaco transformer, and the other seems to be a correct replacement, it has a part number shown in a close-up photo. The 6550 outputs are matched, and the pres are not, there is one Tesla E83CC, the other is a Sylvania 6922 type, they work well together here. Issues are all cosmetic, it sounds incredible and looks like nothing else out there with the vintage hexagon patterned cloth grill and 50 years of age leaving the surfaces with relic type antiquing. There is no back panel. Two screws are missing (see underside shot). There is oxidation on many of the hardware elements, and to the transformers (the non-Dynaco type in particular). The bass knob is a replacement (and is missing the chrome trim), as are the rubber feet. General wear and tear. _gsrx_vers_827 GS 7.0.13 (827).
