1950′s Valco Supro Chicago 51 Tube Guitar Amp Vintage Vibe. It has that classic, small tube amp sound. Valco made these for many different companies, this one was probably Supro branded (black stripes down the front) but it doesn’t have the front “Supro” decal. Measures 14″ x 15″ x 7.5. At some point someone changed out the grill cloth with the regal looking metallic mesh. The handle is also metal and non original. Otherwise all the tubes and electronics seem to be original. Vintage Sunn Sonaro 60 Watt Tube Guitar Bass Amplifier Amp Head. Recently serviced, this amplifier functions well and sounds great! Some minor cosmetic wear on the tolex from being used and aging. The power cord is also slightly frayed but still works well. Good overall condition and is an awesome amplifier for guitar, bass, and keyboard whether for studio or gigging. The Sunn Musical Equipment Company’s history is about as “American Dream” as it gets. After a Portland-based band had a little hit song called “Louie, Louie” and found their amplifiers couldn’t fill larger halls, they enlisted the help of a family member to build them louder amps and thus Sunn was born. Thanks to their impressive power, Sunn amps went on to be staples on the major touring circuit through the’60s and’70s, used and endorsed by the likes of The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, and The Who. The brand was briefly saved and resurrected by Fender in the 1990s and 2000s, but ultimately the vintage behemoths like the Model T and 1200S are what commands the attention of collectors and modern day working musicians.
