The Amp works fine, making great sound. However this unit is so old and has old caps and other old parts, may needs to be replaced. All functions and controls work fine. I tested all the tubes with TV7/BU Tube tester. 5 x 12AX7 (3RCA, 1Mullard, 1Sylvania). 4x 7355 (GE, USA). 1x 5AR4 / GZ34 (Sovtek, Russia). Here is a really neat find! We came across this earlier last week. It is a Fantastic example of a 1963 Ampeg reverberocket R12 R B tube amplifier. These were originally made for a guitar or accordion. This one has its original Jensen speaker, and it looks to have all of the original AMPEG branded tubes. This amplifier was just cleaned, And gone through by a professional technician. The original cord was changed to a new grounded power cord. Other than the cord, the amplifier looks to be completely original. Even the leather handle is in decent condition for its age. The blue checked Tolex is very nice. It is coming up lightly on each seam near the top as shown. This amplifier has a pair of 7591 power tubes. The tube chart is shown in the photos. The original foot switch functions as it should. The reverb echo and tremolo work properly. Please take a look at all the photos and feel free to ask any questions or request additional photos as needed. Up for sale, a 1962 Magnatone Giulietti S-9 vintage tube amplifier in exceptional, collector-grade condition and in perfect working order. Complete with the original footswitch, the S-9 is virtually identical to the 260 model, with a 2×12 speaker configuration and lush pitch shifting vibrato. Produced in the Magna Electrics era (pre-Estey), this Magnatone features two channels with individual Volume and EQ controls as well as a bright switch. Driven by a pair of Wing C Svetlana 6L6 power tubes, the amp has a rich, lush sound capable of delivering both articulate cleans and overdriven roar. Of course at the heart of any Magnatone is their varistor-based true pitch shifting vibrato circuit, which is thick and watery, with a Leslie-esque swirl and unequalled. As a top of the line Magnatone amplifier, the Giulietti S-9 has a complex true point-to-point hand wired circuit which has been recently serviced to sound its best, balancing originality and functionality. The circuit retains all of the original blue Ajax molded caps in the preamp and CTS pots that date to the 32nd week of 1962. All of the original Schumacher transformers are intact including a power transformer that dates to the 47th week of 1961 and an output transformer that dates to the 22nd week of 1962. The power tubes are a pair of Wing C Svetlana 6L6s which are properly biased and have plenty of life. The amp retains its original speakers, which are a pair of Oxford 12K5s that date to the 32nd week of 1962. The original black speckled covering is extremely clean with only a few small scuffs and light wear on the bottom corners of the cabinet, and the faceplate is remarkably well kept as well with vibrant silkscreened graphics and all of the original knobs. Rare pre-Rivera 80 or 81 (only made for two years) Fender 30 tube amp. Rebuilt it and only played for a couple hours. New grill cloth. New wood speaker plate and cloth mount, all wood reglued and restapled. New Jensen 10s. New Fender knobs. New reverb box. Retubed, footswitch rebuilt, general check over by Tonetronix in Hubbard, OH. Please inspect the photos carefully. It is still an old amp and there are imperfections. The amp faceplate behind the switches is a little warped, may have taken a hit at some point. Up for sale, a 1965 Kay Bass Amp model 720 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A rare vintage Kay all-tube design loaded with a single 15 alnico speaker, the 720 model is as straightforward and simple as vintage tube amp tone gets. The amp has a single channel with Volume and Tone knobs, and the tube rectified circuit is loaded with the original pair of RCA 6L6GC power tubes which deliver roughly 35 all-tube watts. This is a particularly dark sounding amp even with the Tone control pegged, and as such it’s a viable option for bass tracking in a studio at low volumes for a rumbly and thick sound. With guitar, the amp has a bold roar that overdrives smoothly with churning drive. Put a treble booster or any overdrive with an EQ section in front of the amp and this Kay responds beautifully with extra top end sizzle and dynamic range. The tube compliment, cabinet size, and speaker also lend themselves to a comparison with the Supro Thunderbolt, and it’s a fair comparison, as the two amps have much in common structurally and sonically. The circuit is virtually untouched with original transformers and a two-part chassis design that leaves the preamp mounted to the top of the amp and the power amp located in the bottom of the enclosure. The RCA 6L6GC power tubes sound great and have plenty of life, and the amp boasts a matching RCA rectifier as well. The stock Fisher 15 alnico speaker retains its original cone, with a clean frame and 1965 date stamp on the magnet bell. Cosmetically, the amp is extremely clean and the polished brass faceplate retains the original knobs as well as all of the black silkscreen text. The two-tone brown and blonde enclosure shows very little wear with the original handle, rubber feet present, and raised plastic Kay badge on the grillcloth. It’s as complete and well preserved example as we’ve ever seen of this model, or any vintage Kay amp for that matter!
