You are looking at a Vintage 1966 Ampeg Gemini II 30 Watt 1×15 All Tube Combo Amp. If you are into that 1960′s trashy rock sound, (Stones, Kinks) you’ll love this amp. In production from 1965 to 1968. Originally designed as an Accordion Amp. (What were they thinking). Though the Gemini II was intended for jazz (like the majority of the Ampegs of its day), this one somehow slipped past the Gatekeeper of Clean, head honcho Everett Hull. Theres something grimy, rich, and raw going on when you crank it up, and that opens a world of sonic possibilities beyond the archetypal smooth. To be fair, itll do smooth if you keep it down to 9 or 10 oclock on the dial, lulling you back into that mid-60s vibe. But, fast-forward nearly 50 years and these things make great avenues to original tones in the arenas of alternative, indie, blues-rock, Americana, and roots-rock. Get it cooking, and it also lets the listener know youre plugged into something other than the usual Vox, Marshall, or Fender-derived amp design. Of your blackface Super Reverb, JMI AC30, or JTM45 Bluesbreaker combo! Our Amp Tech serviced this amp. He cleaned all pots, jacks and tube sockets. Replaced one open plate resistor and a couple of caps. Added a 3-prong grounded ac cord. Everything functions and works great! You won’t spend any additional monies on this amp. Gig Ready on Arrival! Speaker is NOT original. It has been upgrade to a 1×15 Jemsen Speaker! Complete Package with Original 2-button footswitch! Keep in mind that this is a 57 year old vintage amp that has been used. There are some scuffs, scratches and minor tears in the tolex. Grill Cloth is faded due to age. There is some pitting on the instrument control bezel. All lettering is clear and legible. McIntosh MC240 stereo tube amplifier. I have not tried to plug this unit in because I do not have a variac. There is some pitting on the chrome but not very much. Most of the silkscreen has been removed by polishing by a prior owner. There is a full compliment of tubes but they have not been tested to know if they are good. The four large 6L6-GC tubes are original RCA made for McIntosh. There is a rare tube cage included. The original capacitors have been replaced with quality SiderealKaps. The connectors have obviously been updated but I dont know the extent of the work or when it was done. Low ball offers will be politely ignored. This 1956 Magnavox mono tube amplifier model 128E includes its matching phono preamp control and. The original L-shaped wooden control panel overlay from the Magnasonic phonograph console it came from. The big 128E amp contains four 6V6 tubes and two 5Y3GT tubes, as well as a 12AX7. The original power indicator light is still wired in. The preamp contains a single 6AV5 tube and has three knobs that control volume, treble, and bass. The bass switch also turns the power on and off. Preamp has a mono phono input and a hard-wired rca cord that connects to the main amplifier. The small 12AX7 and 6AV5 tubes are from Sylvania and Motorola, the rest are all Magnavox brand. The amp platform measures 13 inches x 11 inches x 2 1/8 inches (side mounting fins are 3/4 inch each). All original (as far as I can tell) down to 2 prong plug. Plug is damaged but is easily upgraded to the safer 3 prong, still plugs in and works. Left this amp as I found it, easily modified, recaped or repotted. All tubes match tube chart and look original, RCA 5GTE, RCA 6V6GT, MULLARD 12AX7. Tolex and speaker grill in awsome shape for 52 years old. Sounds good, very little noise or hum for ungrounded plug. Fender speaker in great shape. Corners tight and undamaged. All 3 pots work and adjust with very little noise but volume does not stop at 1 and 10, treble is perfect, bass does not stop at 1. These are easy fixes for someone who works on these. Normal light corrosion on metallic parts, normal light blemishes. More detailed pictures available upon request. Feel free to ask questions.
