Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Dual Showman in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Produced very early in’66 where the Dual Showman still simply said “Showman” on the faceplate, this Dual Showman boasts a pair of flawless and original JBL D140F 15 speakers with original cones as well as two matched pairs of RCA and General Electric-branded 6L6GC power tubes. This amp was the absolute top of the line Fender amp in its day, and still an ideal choice for guitar, bass, or amplifying your favorite vintage electric piano or combo organ. For pristine, sparkling Fender Blackface clean tone, you can’t get any bigger or badder than the Dual Showman, and the amp delivers 85 pure tube watts. The cleans are clear, focused and warm, with a percussive clarity and cut that pairs perfectly with Fender’s single coil pickups and interacts equally well with a warm pair of humbuckers or P-90s. The low end can be dialed in to perfection, with some sweet low-midrange on tap, and a deep, pulsating tremolo as well. The circuit is clean and very original, with a virtually untouched preamp that retains all of the famed blue molded Ajax tone caps that are a hallmark of the Blackface sound. Even the original compliment of filter caps is still intact and viable. All of the original Schumacher transformers (Fender’s primary transformer supplier in the Blackface era) are intact dating between late’65 and the first weeks of 1966. The CTS pots date to late’65 as well. The Blackface faceplate is in great shape, with all of the original witch hat knobs present. The tube chart is clean and intact inside the head, noting the amp’s AB763 circuit and “PD” date code which translates to April of 1966. Both JBL 15 D140 speakers are original to the amp, and everything inside the cab is 100% straight. Both JBLs have their original “29675″ cone codes, and both ribbed cones are in great shape with original aluminum dust caps. The gray speaker frames and JBL labels are virtually flawless, and all of the original fiberglass baffling is intact inside the cab too. With their heavy duty alnico magnets and 4 voice coils, these speakers perfectly replicate Fender clean tones with little to no speaker distortion. Both the head and large 2×15 speaker cabinet retain their original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth, and all of the original hardware is intact too, including the raised Fender logos on both head and cab, chrome tilt-back legs, piggyback clip bars and thumbscrews, nickel corners, chassis straps, and handle caps. Cosmetically, the head and cab show only light wear with and some nicks, scuffs, and dings in the tolex and light surface patina on the hardware, but no serious wear. Given a full checkup by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar and one of the straightest examples we’ve come across in years, this Dual Showman boasts original JBL D140 speakers, vintage power tubes, and an extremely original circuit with stock transformers. Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Vibrolux in excellent condition and in good working order. This rare 1×12 “Brownface” version of the Vibrolux is a bridge between the Tweed and Blackface models in both specs and tone, with a glassy, touch sensitive quality, robust cleans, and rich overdrive characteristics when you dime it out. Pushing 35 all tube watts through a vintage Oxford alnico 12LN speaker, there’s plenty to love about the versatility and tone offered by this Fender. The amp has plenty of clean headroom and the sweet sag of a tube rectifier, and when pushed above 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly and cascade into sweet overdrive with just enough bite. The bias-based tremolo circuit also has a very strong, thumping pulse that’s notably deeper than later Fender circuits, with a wide range of speeds. The circuit is freshly serviced and largely original, retaining the original Schumacher output transformer and choke which both date to mid-1961. The power transformer is a properly spec’d replacement for this amp with a blank black bell cover. Many of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp and an integral part of the sweetness and clarity of the circuit. All of the stock pots are intact as well (dating to’61) with largely original solder joints and cloth covered wire. The power supply has been recapped, and the bias cap also has a small trim pot piggybacked on it to perfectly dial in the bias of the matched pair of vintage small bottle USA-made 6L6 power tubes. The amp has also been fitted with a modern three-prong power cable. The preamp tubes are a mix of modern and vintage valves from the likes of Sylvania and RCA. The speaker is the right make and model for this amplifier (Oxford 12LN) and era-correct, although it dates a bit earlier than the amp with a code on the edge of the frame which translates to 1957. Cosmetically, this amp would look great in a studio, with original rough brown tolex and wheat grillcloth. The leather handle is a modern replacement, as is the upper back panel, while the lower back panel is original. The faceplate retains all of the original brown barrel knobs. This Vibrolux is a rare, thoroughly serviced, and largely original vintage Pre-CBS Fender amp that’s ready for stage and studio use. This sale is for the pictured EICO HF 86 Power Amplifier. PLEASE MAKE AN OFFER, You know what this is… This amp with original EICO labeled MULLARD tubes is EXTREMELY hard to find. It is rated at 14 watts per side, and is a STEREO Tube Amp. ALLOriginal MULLARD TUBES, with the EICO label. It comes with the SAMS Photofacts with layout and schematics. And of course my stereo took the hit. I had it running thru an HF 85 pre-amp, and listened to the FM on an HF90 tuner. Almost stole the EL84s outta this for my guitar amp… But resisted the temptation. This amp was working about 10 years ago or so sounded fantastic too. PLEASE LOOK AT THE PHOTOS. This amp was stored INDOORS, was never exposed to high moisture environment like some others. VERY LITTLE CORROSION OR RUST… Because this is vintage electronics. And because it has not been powered or tested in over 10 years. Was working fine when I stopped using it, and the Mullards all were top shelf. Amp sounds great – from warm clean to moderate overdrive / classic crunch. (2) 6V6 output tubes. Channel B works fine (second input). Channel A works, but volume is much less than B. I dont have a footswitch for the tremelo, so i cant say if its working or not. Amp has original circuit, orig caps, no mods whatsoever (besides non original Jensen). Original 2-prong power cord. Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Concert in exceptional, collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with a vintage footswitch and cover. This Concert is time capsule clean cosmetically, incredible sounding, and complete with a quad of Oxford 10″ 10K5R-1 alnico speakers with long brown metal “Fender bell covers. The combination of the Brownface 6G12-A circuit and four very rare alnico Oxfords is truly something to behold. The amp delivers sweet, dynamic clean tones with incredible sparkle and a certain high fidelity clarity that is noticeable as soon as you strum your first chord. Turn the amp up past 5 and the amp starts to smoothly overdrive with just the right amount of bite and the complex midrange bark that makes Fender’s Brownface amps the perfect middle ground between the growl and attitude of Fender’s Tweed amps and the glassy shimmer of the Blackface era. The EQ controls have an incredible wide sweep, and this amp is uncommonly warm for any Fender, never feeling too bright or brittle, with the perfect amount of midrange and focused low end. The second channel boasts the Harmonic Vibrato circuit, which was the only Fender “Tremolo” circuit to ever have a true pitch shifting effect, with deep pulsating warbles and a wide range of speeds. The circuit is very clean and original, with stock transformers that date to mid-1961, as well as a full compliment of original yellow Astron and blue Ajax molded tone caps in the preamp. The original Astron Minimite filter caps are still intact and functioning as intended, while the smaller bypass and bias caps in the preamp have been swapped in favor of parts within factory tolerances and sleeved in their original Minimite wrappers. The pots date to mid-1961 and are all stock except for one replacement for the Vibrato Speed knob, with the new pot providing an ideal taper. The power tubes are a matched pair of vintage USA-made small bottle Tung Sol 6L6s, and the preamp tubes are all vintage valves from the likes of Sylvania and Amperex aside from one new JJ tube. The Oxford 10K5R-1 speakers are a matched quad, and the elongated brown metal bell covers (only used on the first alnico magnet versions of the 10K5) are an extremely rare and cool accent used for only a matter of months by Fender. Beneath the bell covers, the alnico magnets have date stamps from the 18th week of’61. The tube chart is fully intact on the bottom of the cabinet (the common placement for many of the earliest Brownface amps), with crisp corners and an “KD” date stamp from April of 1961. The original rough brown tolex and oxblood grillcloth are intact and in remarkable shape. As the photos show, the tolex and grill show sparingly little wear, and this amp is a great candidate for any collection or studio. The speaker frames and bell covers are exceedingly clean, consistent with the chassis itself and the Brownface faceplate. The original chassis straps, nickel corners, sphinx glides, and flat “Fender” logo are all in great shape and present. The original dogbone handle is present too and still clings to the handle mounts, although there are splits on the undersides of the handle (a new dogbone is also included). This is an extremely rare Fender Brownface Concert in stunning, original condition, complete with a vintage single-button footswitch to engage the vibrato. The amp also comes with a rare dark green cover, ostensibly original, and while different from the more common Victoria-made covers, we have seen this much rarer cover material on more than a couple early Brownface amps.
