This is a vintage Motorola from the sixties police radio/ walkie-talkie communication device. It has around 11-23 tubes in it… 11 covered & the others aren’t. I’m not including the big can filter capacitor. This would make a good small low watt tube amplifier, you would have to rewire it probably & it’s super cool and funky looking. The item “Vintage Motorola police radio guitar tube amp project 60′s head chassis” is in sale since Monday, April 29, 2019. This item is in the category “Musical Instruments & Gear\Guitars & Basses\Parts & Accessories\Amplifier Parts & Accessories”. 1964 Fender Vibroverb Vintage Blackface Pre-CBS Tube Amp 1x15 with JBL 130A, Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Vibroverb in excellent condition, recently serviced and loaded with a vintage JBL 130A speaker. A very original and clean example of Fender’s rarest and most desirable Blackface amp, the Vibroverb was only made in the Pre-CBS Fender era, lasting from late 1963 through’64. Best known for its association with Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Vibroverb delivers 40 all-tube watts with a dual channel design and tube rectifier. The amp is loaded with a pair of vintage JAN/Phillips 6L6 power tubes, and the JBL speaker has been professionally reconed. The tone is clear and powerful, with dynamic Fender cleans that sparkle and twang. The highly efficient JBL speaker keeps the signal and tight, with very little speaker cone distortion even at high volumes, letting the light compression and velvety tube overdrive of the circuit be heard with stunning clarity when you push the amp near 10 on the volume dial. The Reverb has plenty of splash and dimension with a long decay, and the Vibrato (technically tremolo) has a strong, smooth pulse. The circuit is extremely clean and stock, with all of the original Schumacher-made transformers dating between the 7th and 27th weeks of 1964. All of the original CTS pots are intact as well, dating to early’64. The preamp retains its full compliment of original blue molded Ajax caps, a key ingredient of the sweet, musical sound of Fender’s Blackface circuits. The power supply features a professional recap of the main filters, and the smaller bypass caps in the preamp have been replaced too. A three-prong power cable has also been installed. In addition to the pair of properly biased USA-made JAN/Phillips 6L6GC power tubes, the amp is loaded with a Sylvania GZ34 rectifier and a host of new and vintage tubes in the preamp as well, all of which function as intended. The tube chart is intact and very clean, with crisp corners and an “NJ” date stamp for October of 1964. The vintage JBL 130A speaker has a professional recone and proper aluminum dust cap, and this speaker is a particularly early JBL, predating the D130F. The speaker has a full, robust sound with no voice coil rub and incredible articulation. Cosmetically, this amp retains its original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth, with some light edge wear and a few small spots of missing tolex on the bottom edges of the cabinet. The original hardware is all intact, with some scuffing on the original nickel corners, and modest patina on the original Pat. Pending tilt-back legs, sphinx glides, and handle caps. The original two-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. The speaker will be removed and packed separately due to the weight, ensuring the safest transit for both the baffle and speaker cone and voice coil. International orders will be declared as merchandise, and the value of merchandise will be declared as the amount paid. We cannot declare anything as a gift or for a lesser value. We do our best to describe all items with honesty and accuracy, but to be sure, please. Vintage 1960s Philips A3X95A Tube Amplifier with Speaker Guitar Amp WORKS Rat Rod

Up for sale here is this vintage Philips A3X95A powered speaker, I believe from the late 1950s or early 1960s. This is basically a wood cabinet with a small tube amplifier and a speaker (close to 6×9, possibly alnico) inside. I couldn’t find much about this on the net–it’s apparently pretty rare. It has 3 inputs in the back–an RCA jack and two bi-pin jacks. This is a really neat little powered speaker, and you could use it as a guitar amp with just a bit of tinkering. I brought this up on a Variac, and it does play fine and sounds good. I didn’t hear any noticeable hum or buzzing, but as this is over 50 years old I would strongly recommend recapping and rebuilding it. This uses 3 tubes–an EZ80 rectifier tube, an EL86 output tube, and a 12AX7/ECC83 tube. They are all included, but are untested, though they presumably work, since the amp works. The EZ80 and EL86 appear to be original, but the 12AX7 is a GE, replaced by a previous owner. As far as I know this is original otherwise–I don’t think this was recapped or had other work done. Cosmetic condition is pretty rough. The wood cabinet is in bad condition, and this is missing a knob. The emblem is missing from the upper left, and the grillcloth is torn a bit. The light does work. The power cord has some electrical tape on it and may have been spliced. I would recommend replacing it. This looks pretty cool–it has a nice “rat rod” appearance. This is tested and plays fine, but it doesn’t have a ton of power. This would probably be pretty easy to convert into a guitar amplifier, and I’m sure it would do amazing things. I believe you’d need to add a gain stage, or change things around a bit. This is currently working, but I would strongly recommend rebuilding it. Please see my pictures for details. If you have any questions, please ask. I have a number of other tube items, collectibles, and vintage electronics listed–feel free to take a look! RARE 1967 Hilgen Challenger R2024 Tube Amp 112 Combo 7591 Guitar Sano Vintage

The Hilgen amps are very hard to come by as they weren’t really mass produced and were only made for three years. This one is fully serviced with no issues or weird quirks, and ready for years of enjoyment! The Challenger is an 18W all-tube point to point handwired 112 combo with two channels that each have individual volume and tone controls, with onboard reverb and tremolo. The first channel is more Fender-y and has guitar and bright inputs. The second channel is a bit richer and reminds me of vintage Ampeg (which Jack also supposedly helped with designs as they were both New Jersey companies), and has instrument and accordion inputs. All jacks and controls work as should. I replaced the electrolytic caps and one out of tolerance wax & paper capacitor with new audio grade caps. All of the original Mullard mustard caps are still intact!! I also removed the death cap and installed a grounded power supply cable for safety. I cleaned all pots, jacks, and power/rectifier tube sockets. This uses a 6X4 (reverb driver), two 12AX7, and two 12AU7 in the preamp. It also uses a pair of 7591 power tubes and a 5U4GB tube rectifier. This comes with the original CTS 12 speaker that still sounds great also! The reverb is pretty unique as it’s a shorter and slightly brighter one, although it sounds great and works really well with the circuit. The tremolo is currently in Off position and the previous owner couldn’t find the footswitch. Any standard two button footswitch with a 1/4 jack should do the trick though. Cosmetically it’s in pretty great shape for being a little over fifty years old! The original grill cloth and tolex are both fully intact and the faceplate still looks great! One of the rubber feet is partially broken off and it does show some minor wear from age though. If you have any questions, feel free to message me. I will remove the power and rectifier tubes and package them separately inside the amplifier. The item “RARE 1967 Hilgen Challenger R2024 Tube Amp 112 Combo 7591 Guitar Sano Vintage” is in sale since Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
