Vintage Excelsior Citation Model C-7 Tube Guitar Amp, used. This is a vintage item, preowned in fair condition. Cosmetic condition is fair to poor. Fabric is peeling from sides on bottom, some stains, paint, markings on top. Corner of wood is scuffed and chipped. Missing original handle strap that has been replaced with a draw pull. Mechanical condition is working. Power on, sound comes out but it is not 100% clear sound. Speakers looks to be in good condition. Vintage Scott Stereomaster 222C Stereo Tube Amplifier 222-C. Very nice cosmetic and tested working condition! Tubes are all original Telefunken except for GZ34 which is a Sylvania tube. We tested the tubes with Orange VT1000 and also with a recently overhauled Hickock A600 tube tester. All tubes tested strong and very closely matched. After cleaning the pots with Deoxit D5 and also thoroughly cleaning the entire unit inside and out we very slowly powered up the amp using a variac, gradually increasing voltage over a period of several hours. We then tested the amp and sounds very clear with no hum or scratchiness to the controls. Not to say that recapping won’t make it sound better but what you gain from recapping you loose from loosing originality. Also most people are never happy with someone else’s soldering work or choice of caps. The wood case is in nice condition with some marks/patina from use and age. There are a couple of very small chips in the veneer on the bottom of the sides that have been color matches wood filled The front panel looks nice and clean but does have some scratches where someone missed putting headphone plug in the jack. Please look at the pictures closely and judge the condition, size and content of this lot for yourself as our photos are a large portion of our description. Heathkit SB-220 Linear Amplifier. This is an all complete unit with Original Heathkit Assembly Manual. Inside has 2 x 3-500Z tubes. Bought his a a recent hamfest and original owner said it was still working. Being so old I suggest having this unit gone through by a tech to make sure everything is good. I have not tested this or even power it up. Unit appears to be all stock and original. There is also a small little dent/ding on the top cover which is hardly noticeable in pictures above. The Champ storied history began in 1948 as a 4-watt amp with a single 8-inch speaker a green tweed linen covering in the form of the original Champion 800. It was soon replaced by the even-smaller Champion 600 a year later, dressed in two tone brown & white vinyl, sporting a 6 speaker to compliment the Princetons 8. The two tone covering became the famous tweed around 1953. The Champ was overhauled in 1964 in the blackface style with a black Tolex covering. The AA764 circuit has remained the same from 1964 right through until 1982 (including the tube rectifier). Over the years, the Champ has gone through several other iterations, from tube to solid-state, from tweed to Tolex, but it consistently remained a key piece of gear for casual players and professional artists alike. This is a nice example of a silverface Champ that has all the hang tags and manual included, a great addition to anyones gear! See our other listings for that version. Kit is available with a dual 115/230 volt primary transformer, for people in countries requiring 230 volts operation. Request this option if necessary, otherwise you will receive a 115 volt primary transformer. Kit does not include tubes. Kit includes a BONUS audio input board! The Knight Broadcaster was meant to be used with low level microphone inputs. High level signals will distort the output, unless the input is attenuated. To ease this problem, as well as improve connectivity to audio sources, we have designed an accessory input control board. The kit includes a small 2-3/8 x 2-3/8 PC board (same blue color), to allow easy connection of bare wire, RCA, or 3.5mm jack inputs! The board also features an isolation transformer, if you experience hum problems. See photos in listing below. This is a reproduction kit of the Knight Wireless Broadcaster – Amplifier. High level inputs can be from a MP3 player, iPod, iPhone, cassette player, etc.. The kit also functions as a PA (Public Address) style audio amplifier, and has connections you can hook up a loudspeaker too. This is a custom produced kit, and has no economies of scale, and is therefore more costly than the PC board version. The kit is electrical equivalent to the original, with several minor changes. Our design includes a brand new, high quality, Triad isolation transformer. Appropriate changes has been made for mounting the transformer on the back, and for internal wiring. We have replaced the selenium rectifier with a modern diode. The kit comes with a prewound oscillator coil. As shown in the internal wiring photo, modern filter capacitors, smaller rectifier diode and oscillator coil, give easier and increased assembly and working room! To keeps costs as low as possible, the kit does NOT come with tubes. The tubes (two 50C5 and 12AX7) are common types, and readily available from many sources. We have gone to great effort, time and expense to acquire vintage style components , like those used in the original design. As shown in the parts photos, the kit currently uses vintage parts, including carbon composition resistors (may be vintage or modern manufacture), phenolic wafer tube sockets, vintage terminal strips, and a vintage compression tuner capacitor. As time progresses on, these parts become harder and harder to find, and at some point may be replaced with modern equivalents. Until otherwise noted, the kit will come with the vintage parts just mentioned. The prototype in the photos used a couple carbon film resistors, but kits will come with ALL carbon composition resistors. The kit now uses black oxide screws to assemble the panels, instead of the costly blue screws shown in the photos. NOTE: This kit requires good electrical and mechanical building skills, and is recommended for advanced builders. Some mechanical modifications are required, such as cutting the metal potentiometer shaft to the correct length, enlarging the tube sockets holes, etc.. The kit is constructed with individual fiberglass panels for the top, front, back and sides. These are fiberglass printed circuit boards, with high durability lettering. The bottom panel is an acrylic or similar plastic material, it’s color may vary or be clear. The parts are connected by plastic brackets and screws, as you can see in the internal view photo. The original manual is supplied as a PDF file on a CD-R. An addendum assembly file is supplied as a RTF file on the CD-R. Note we do not supply copies of manuals. The kit is only for sale people with experience building and operated line powered devices. The kit must be operated under FCC Part 15 regulations at all times. Up for sale is my Eico HF81 integrated amplifier. Great sounding vintage tube amp, good bass. I have owned and worked on 4 HF81s. Power supply capacitors changed (30uf film and F&T), along with other electrolytic caps and some important HV wires. New coupling caps throughout – inc. Russian K40Y PIO and Solen. Voltages are a bit high but within spec. 6 tube sockets were replaced. Tubes are mostly US, including great GE oval plate 6BQ5s. The “Focus” (balance) pot was bypassed with resistors (commonly done with these amps). Unnecessary amplifier separation switch on chassis removed from circuit. All original pots, clean and smooth. Has mostly older original parts and wires, but many new parts installed where needed. Case original and was resprayed a few years ago. Tarnish spots on chassis. Knobs are clean but have been lightly glued on. 3 useable inputs – 2 line and phono. Line input jacks are new but phono jacks are original. The phono section is not the last word in vinyl playback but it’s good. Some noises heard in selector switch when turned to unused inputs (it’s old). New speaker terminals, 4 and 8 ohm. Sounds like you hope it will – these amplifiers are legendary for a reason. It’s a beauty – just polished the brass face plate.
