The Western Electric 2A Phase Monitor is a device used in telecommunication systems. It was manufactured by Western Electric, a company that was once a major player in the telecommunications industry. The 2A Phase Monitor was primarily used in analog voice circuits to monitor the phase relationship between two signals. It was designed to detect and indicate any phase deviations or abnormalities in the signals, which could help identify issues such as line faults or improper connections. The amp is in great condition! All of the tubes look like they should and the metal is pretty clean with only some light pitting on it. See pictures for more and feel free to ask any questions! I’ve also included an invoice from an authorized McIntosh repair shop and the man who worked on it had worked for Mcintosh for 30+ years and knew them very well. The repair was minor and the goal was to have it work for another 40 years. The customer stated fault at the bottom of the document is misleading. There aren’t any problems at all with the power supply. This comment was made to the repair guy because that’s what my co-worker said happened to it. My diagnosis was unfounded and a guess. It ran like a champ when I used it! Also, the owner’s manual included isn’t the original but rather a copy of it that I have used.
