The Marantz 8B is. A highly regarded vintage stereophonic tube power amplifier. Introduced in the early 1960s, known for its exceptional, detailed, and warm sound quality. It produces 35-42 watts per channel using EL34 tubes and features point-to-point hand wiring, making it a prized, collectible piece of audio history. Key details about the Marantz 8B. Delivers 35 watts per channel (RMS) into 8-ohm loads (4 to 16-ohm compatibility), with low distortion. Utilizes a pair of EL34 pentode tubes per channel for output, plus 6BH6 and 6CG7 tubes for preamplification/phase inversion. Everything appears to be there to make a self contained guitar amp, or head. Uses a 6×5 rectifier, 6v6 power tubes, and 6sn7 with dual 6sc7 preamp tubes – tubes are all vintage.
