Vintage Tube Amp

This is truly a great old amp. It is in rough condition but would make for a terrific project. The cabinet is rough. There is damage to the veneer on the cabinet. The large patch is with the item. There are a couple of other veneer damages. There should be two of the front bar applications. One of these is missing. The inside looks fairly clean. The plug needs replacing. When plugged in the amp powers up and does amplify but the amp starts humming. The humming gets louder and louder to an extreme pitch. I know nothing about amps and hope the description helps. I have no idea how much work it will take to restore this.

Please take the time to read about this guitar amplifier and message me with any further questions: this is old and showing signs of cosmetic wear, commensurate with age. The cabinet has a few cracks seen (though it remains in one piece), and the green pearlized wrap has chipped in some places. The power cord is solid, but the sheathing on the braided wires leading to/closest to the speaker have become frail over the years and are now wrapped in electrical tape. One of the dial knobs are missing, but knob turns as it should. The unit powers on and tubes light up, however, I’m not getting any sound from the speaker, but I do hear static. May be something super simple like a grounding issue, in which case, my loss is your gain. If no takers, I’ll be taking the amp to a tech for a refresh and relist once working fully. This unit does come with the back cover plate, a lot of times when these show up on the market the back cover is missing, likely in part due to them not staying on very well, which this one doesn’t, but it is included!

One of the earliest Teisco amps made and only a couple are known to exist. Someone started to restore/refurbish the amp and replaced some capacitors and wire. The work was done well but was never finished. Cool piece of history and would make a great addition to any collection. Outer dimensions are 11″h x 9″w, 5d. Get it while you can, the chances of finding another one are slim to none. A must have for any Teisco collectors.

Vintage Model CH30 Challenger 5 Knob 6 Tube Amplifier 1940s? Pictures with tubes and knobs installed and removed so interested buyers could see condition in those areas. Tubes all seemed to match the numbers imprinted on the amplifier. In vintage used and untested condition with signs of use and wear. Has scratches, paint loss, some rusting, the one piece of detached speaker cord/connector looks very worn. Corners all have paint loss and scratches. Baseplate under the wiring has a fragile paper schematic partially glued or stuck to it. I replaced two missing screws on the cover and one screw in the baseplate. Power cord is approximately 6.5 feet long. I had read somewhere if you are unfamiliar with tube radios/amps that you are better off not testing them because you could damage the unit? Unsure if that is true or not but for that reason I have not plugged this in. Please be your own expert when determining completeness and correctness of this piece. Fresh from an estate. Unknown maker of this amp. Has a Lafayete transformer. Still had a Ken Rad 5u4G inside. Unknown as to whether this thing will work. Has a simple on off switch on the front. Built like a tank. Also comes with a heavy industrial metal cage. The item is heavy so UPS ground is the best option.

Very Cool Rare 1940s Vintage Silvertone Model 1300 Tube Guitar Amplifier. This has been sitting unused for many years. I do not have a VARIAC so I have not plugged it in to test it and possibly screw something up in the process. Given its age it would be prudent to have it checked over by a tech before use. I do not know its life history or if it had ever been modified by a previous owner so I have provided several photos of the interior so you can see for yourself what is behind the covers. Looks good for its age – needs some adhesive on some of the loose covering over the wood frame and a bit of interior dusting. According to the catalog, the 1300 was rated at 8 watts undistorted, with 12-14 maximum output watts possible at the cost of a slightly distorted sound.

This is a late 1940s Silvertone 1300 amplifier that is in good working condtion. It’s pretty much original except for the grill and the 12 speaker that was installed. New leather handle was custom made and copied from the original. Cool little amp and the same Silvertone amplifier was used during the early Johnny Cash recordings. All tubes and rated between 5-8 Watts a great little amp for recording or to use at home.
