1964 Fender Vibroverb Vintage Blackface Pre-CBS Tube Amp 1x15 with JBL D130F, Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Vibroverb in exceptional condition and in good working order. An extremely original and clean example of Fender’s rarest and most desirable Blackface amp, the Vibroverb was only made in the Pre-CBS Fender era, lasting from late 1963 through’64. Most well known for its association with Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Vibroverb delivers 40 tube watts via a pair of 6L6 power tubes and a JBL D130F speaker. The tone is clear and powerful, with dynamic Fender cleans that sparkle and twang. The highly efficient JBL speaker keeps things clean and tight, with very little speaker cone distortion even at high volumes, letting the light compression and velvety tube overdrive of the circuit be heard with stunning clarity when you push the amp near 10 on the volume dial. The Reverb has plenty of splash and dimension with a long decay, and the Vibrato (technically tremolo) has a strong, smooth pulse. The circuit is extremely clean and stock, with all of the original Schumacher-made transformers dating between late’63 and early 1964. The CTS pots date to late’63 too, with two new pots in the Vibrato channel. The preamp retains its full compliment of original blue molded Ajax caps, a key ingredient of the sweet, musical sound of Fender’s Blackface circuits. The power supply features a professional recap of the main filters with F&T and Ruby caps, and the smaller bypass caps in the preamp are new Spragues. A three-prong power cable has also been installed. The tubes consist of a new pair of Tung Sol 5881 power tubes, with a USA-made GZ34 rectifier and a host of new tubes in the preamp as well, all of which function as intended. The tube chart is intact and very clean, with crisp corners and an “NB” date stamp for February of 1964. The original JBL D130F speaker has a recone with a WHF cone and proper aluminum dust cap, and the speaker has a full, robust sound with no voice coil rub and incredible articulation. Cosmetically, this amp is an absolute stunner which has likely lived its life in the studio, due to the absence of any notable cosmetic wear. The stock smooth black tolex is exceedingly clean, and the original silver sparkle grillcloth has only aged sparingly, with lots of sparkle left in the thread. The original hardware is all intact and clean, with only the faintest patina on a couple of the corners and on the original Pat. This is a collector-grade and well maintained vintage Fender Vibroverb, ideal for the stage, studio and discerning player! The original two-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1960 Gibson GA-80T Varitone Vintage Tweed 1x15 Tube Guitar Amp Jensen P15P

Up for sale, a 1960 Gibson GA-80T Vari-Tone tube amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order. An early example of one of Gibson’s rarest amps with date codes spanning late 1959 and very early’60, the GA-80T was produced only from 1959-61 and only roughly 600 were produced total across all three years. A true tonal powerhouse with a preamp that boasts a pair of the revered 5879 pentode tubes, this amp is particularly rich, detailed, and dynamic sounding. Essentially the 5879 is a more stable and less microphonic version of the EF86, and paired with a 6L6 output section and Jensen P15P alnico speaker, the tone can be glassy or gritty, chiming or guttural with the twist of a knob. Of course at the heart of the circuit is the six position push-button Vari-Tone circuit, which lifts the same sweet, scooped, and distinct tones found in the ES-345 and 355 of the era. Activating a Varitone setting disengages the pedestrian Tone knob and the way this tone circuit shapes the sound of the guitar is truly astounding. Many of these settings really highlight Chicken Pickin’, with a musical twang and quack, and the often robust and unique nature of these tones really makes the Varitone settings stand out in a mix. The Tremolo is also one of the most pronounced and throbbing circuits we’ve ever heard on a vintage tube amp. The pulse of the trem is strong without being too choppy, and for an effect that essentially is just volume modulation, it really has a three-dimensional quality. The circuit has just been throughly serviced and recapped, and both original transformers are intact. A three-prong power cord has been installed, and the amp has in short been meticulously gone through to retain the integrity and power of this circuit. The original CentraLab pots date to the 20th week of 1960, while the date stamp on the speaker frame is from the 52nd week of 1959. The speaker has as particularly clean frame and original foil label on the magnet bell, and the speaker has just been professionally reconed. Cosmetically, the original tweed and oxblood grillcloth are both intact, with a minty and stock raised “Gibson” logo on the face of the amp. The tweed does show some modest staining and its fair share of scuffs, but overall is remarkably intact (always a rarer feat the larger the tweed amp). All of the stock knobs are present, including the chicken head knobs for Volume and Tone and the dark burgundy caps for the Vari-Tone push-button controls. Some of the original black silkscreen lettering is present on the faceplate as well which has plenty of sheen on the chrome plating. Other original features the original brown rubber feet and the original luggage-style handle with matching “Gibson” logo and tweed material in a lucite frame. The original wooden wedge footswitch is included to activate the Tremolo. This Gibson GA-80T Vari-Tone amp is very original, thoroughly serviced, and a true force to be reckoned with, standing up to the Fender competition of the era with an incredible array of on-board features. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Based on the V4 preamp and powered by a pair of 7027A power tubes for a robust 60 watt output, the B-15S sounds incredible for either guitar or bass, with a three-way EQ curve rotary switch labeled Bass/Flat/Guitar introduced on this model. Features the familiar Volume, Bass, Treble controls familiar to any B-15 owner, with four inputs (one for each channel and an additional pair of “bright” inputs) and an incredible range of tones. Whether you’re looking for classic Motown thump or more churning, overdriven tones for either guitar or bass, the B-15S delivers classic Ampeg tone with focus and power. The circuit is virtually untouched, and the cab retains the original black frame CTS square magnet ceramic speaker. Cosmetically, this B-15S is absolutely stunning with original smooth black tolex and blue/gray grillcloth that shines like few vintage amps do. All of the original chrome hardware is gleaming, as is the faceplate, which retains all of its original black silkscreen text and the full compliment of knobs. Up for sale, a 1975 Ampeg B-15N Portaflex tube amp in good working order with fresh power tubes. The B-15N is one of the most recorded and highly regarded tube bass amp circuits of all time, and this classic four-input vintage model delivers the goods through the original heavy duty CTS 15 speaker. Manufactured in the USA by Ampeg and recently serviced, the amp is powered by a pair of new and properly biased JJ 6L6 power tubes for a robust 30 watts of output. Surprisingly powerful given its modest power, the B-15N excels at a dynamic and detailed tone that can be extremely warm, or distinct and bright. Paired with a Precision Bass, it’s the perfect recipe for Motown thump. A rare version produced for only a few short years with white rocker switches, this Ampeg has a sleek visual appeal. This head has a couple new caps in the power supply and the circuit is otherwise 100% stock. The stock transformers are both present, and the circuit retains the original CTS pots which date to 1975. The faceplate is notably clean, with all of the original black silkscreened graphics intact on the polished aluminum, and all of the original knobs are intact too. Aside from the new pair of power tubes and rectifier, the rest of the tubes are all vintage valves which work as intended and sound great. The fliptop head secures to the cab with stock latches, and the shockmounts the hold the head to the mounting tray are viable as well. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth is intact, and the original screw-in trolley is also present. There is some staining on the grillcloth, and wear on the cabinet around the edges, but overall, this is a fine example and a gig-worthy amp, freshly retubed and ready to go with an extremely original circuit and stock speaker. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1964 Fender Pro Vintage Blackface Pre-CBS Tube Amp 1x15 with JBL D130F

Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Pro in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A true Pre-CBS example, this Pro pushes 40 watts of power via a pair of 6L6 power tubes through a single 15 JBL D130F speaker with its original cone. An ideal amp for crystalline Fender cleans and the sparkling, smooth response for which the Blackface era amps are known, this Pro delivers an extremely efficient and powerful sound, perfect for guitar or pedal steel and an ideal candidate for a Rhodes piano too. Tube rectified and notably responsive to your picking dynamics, this JBL D130F-equipped Pro offers a very articulate top end and incredible efficiency and projection, allowing the Pro to easily keep up with a band. The circuit is extremely stock, with a virtually untouched preamp and full recap of the power supply with high quality Sprague Atoms. All of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp too, an essential part of the sweet and musical quality of the Blackface amps. The Schumacher transformers are all original, dating to early 1964, and the original CTS pots and chassis stamp date to’64 as well. The original faceplate is extremely clean, with stock witch hat knobs and the “Fender Electric Instruments” text used in the Pre-CBS era. Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is fully intact and only lightly aged, with an “NE” date stamp which translates to May of 1964. The JBL speaker is likely an aftermarket upgrade, but a speaker Fender did offer in this era in their Vibroverb and Showman amps. The speaker has a clean frame and most importantly its original JBL cone with a clean “21057″ cone stamp visible. Cosmetically, the amp is extremely clean, retaining the original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The tolex is remarkably well-kept as the photos can attest, with sparingly little aging of the nickel hardware and moderate darkening of the grillcloth over the last 55 years. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Given the narrow voice coil gaps and weight of the JBL speakers, the speaker will also be removed and carefully packed separately for optimal safety while in transit. The speakers require no soldering to reinstall. International orders will be declared as merchandise, and the value of merchandise will be declared as the amount paid. We cannot declare anything as a gift or for a lesser value. The item “1964 Fender Pro Vintage Blackface Pre-CBS Tube Amp 1×15 with JBL D130F” is in sale since Sunday, May 5, 2019. This item is in the category “Musical Instruments & Gear\Guitars & Basses\Guitar Amplifiers”. The seller is “mmguitarbar” and is located in Seattle, Washington. This item can be shipped worldwide.

In production from 1965 to 1968. Originally designed as an Accordion Amp. (What were they thinking). Though the Gemini II was intended for jazz (like the majority of the Ampegs of its day), this one somehow slipped past the Gatekeeper of Clean, head honcho Everett Hull. Theres something grimy, rich, and raw going on when you crank it up, and that opens a world of sonic possibilities beyond the archetypal smooth. To be fair, itll do smooth if you keep it down to 9 or 10 oclock on the dial, lulling you back into that mid-60s vibe. But, fast-forward nearly 50 years and these things make great avenues to original tones in the arenas of alternative, indie, blues-rock, Americana, and roots-rock. Get it cooking, and it also lets the listener know youre plugged into something other than the usual Vox, Marshall, or Fender-derived amp design. Of your blackface Super Reverb, JMI AC30, or JTM45 Bluesbreaker combo! Our Amp Tech serviced this amp. He cleaned all pots, jacks and tube sockets. 1973 Fender Musicmaster Bass tube amp modified with a vintage 15 Jensen speaker, and modern grounded plug. 1/28/2018, just had this amp recapped and new photos show the new parts and a plastic bag with the old parts. It sounds absolutely amazing. The baffle was replaced before I aquired the amp and is particle board, painted black. The speaker is a tight fit and the amp is rather light for its components. It sounds amazing and that speaker provides a marvelous thump and growl with P90′s, and intense warm lows with single coil pickups. There is a sweet spot between 6 and 8 with beautiful breakup. It sounds cool dimed, but too fuzzy and brown for my taste. It has a baby deluxe vibe before it starts to really overdrive. Great amp, great size. Up for sale, a 1964 Standel Custom 83L15V vintage guitar amplifier in excellent condition and in good working order. A rare amp which Standel advertised as “Transistorized, ” this rare and complete model actually has an all tube power section with an additional 12AX7 and a solid state preamp. An early marriage of solid state and tube technologies (and many would argue one of the most effective and elegant), this amp is extremely robust and clear, with round crystalline clean tones thanks in part to the stock JBL D130F 15 speaker. Perfect for pedal steel and able to retain remarkable headroom at high volumes, the 83L15V has become a favorite of pedal steel players. The amp is stocked with a pair of vintage and likely original RCA 6GT5 power tubes which still sound great, and the original JBL speaker has a nearly spotless gray frame. The tremolo module is intact, yet has been bypassed in the circuit (common with these epoxy covered modules) and the circuit otherwise functions exactly as intended. This amp is extremely hard to come by in any condition, let alone the cosmetically stunning and well kept example seen here which has particularly nice chrome, clean tolex and grill, and all of the original knobs. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to assure that your amp arrives safely. International orders will be declared as merchandise, and the value of merchandise will be declared as the amount paid. We cannot declare anything as a gift or for a lesser value.
