1969 Ampeg SB-12 Amp. Electric Guitar / Bass Amplifier Head. Includes: Cabinet hardware, Amp handle, Tube screen, Schematic, and Metal shielding plate. I bought this amp from a music store that was going out of business many decades ago. I noticed right away the speaker cabinet and the board that the amp head was mounted to were in bad shape so I discarded them. It had been brought in for repairs but the company never fixed it and went out of business. I also never did anything to restore it until last month when I took it to my amp tech. He replaced the power cord, on/off switch, removed the death cap, changed filter caps, repaired a short, and checked the general operation. He also replaced the output transformer with a comparable one. Since the other one was blown. This is now powering on and functioning. Apparently a former owner got some black paint over spray on the chassis face in certain areas. It comes with some cabinet hardware, amp handle, tube screen, schematic, and metal shielding plate. Model # SB 12. (CTS 35th week of 1969). (15th week of 1962). It might serve the buyers purpose to bring up the power slowly with a variac since these amp heads are over 50 years old and have not been used for a few decades. Please remember these are vintage pieces, we cannot guarantee that they will not need service or more parts in their future, only some obvious parts were changed to get it working, most are still the original old parts remaining. Amp is in excellent working condition. Comes with original foot pedal. Was used recently by a guitarist. This is a very clean amp. It has wheels added which many guys like. Speaker is a Jensen.

Of The Magnavox Co. Handle on top has been replaced with a recessed handle. No other accessories included. Amp is in good condition. Normal wear for a 50 year old amp.

1959 I believe Ampeg Jet Guitar Tube Amplifier that has been looked over by technician who replaced tubes and installed 3 prong safety power cord. Green light as well. Cabinet has some tears and worn parts in the tolex, and some lifting at the bottom right side. Looks like a new speaker was put in at some point in time. AS SHOWN AS STATED. Up for sale, a 1963 Ampeg R-12R Reverberocket in exceptional condition and perfect working order. The amp is complete with the original blue diamond tolex, Jensen C12R speaker, and footswitch, loaded with a bevy of vintage tubes including a matched pair of Hammond 6V6s. Under the oversight of Ampeg founder Everett Hull, Ampeg guitar amps were geared towards Jazz guitarists who wanted clean headroom and zero breakup, but according to former Ampeg employee Ken Fischer (long before starting his own company Trainwreck Amplifiers), there was one model that “slipped through the cracks”, and that was the R-12R Reverberocket. This amp has a fantastically spongy feel with plenty of chewy compression, thanks is large part to the octal preamp tubes (6SN7s and 6SL7s in this case), and picking dynamics are glorious, particularly when the amp is cranked to “edge of breakup” tones. The Reverberocket boasts footswitchable bias-based tremolo, along with onboard reverb (the first amp to do so, predating Fender’s Vibroverb by a year or two), which is thick and lush without sacrificing clarity. The circuit is extremely original, with only a few new Sprague Orange Drop capacitors and a couple 5W resistors in the preamp to keep everything working within original factory spec. The original CTS pots date to the 22nd week of’63, with one modern Alpha pot in the mix as well. Both transformers are original, manufactured for Ampeg by Electrical Windings and both dating to mid-1963. The date stamp on the edge of the original Jensen C12R speaker frame is from the 33rd week of’63, and the speaker has a particularly clean frame and original bell cover with minty Jensen foil sticker. The tube chart is intact inside the cabinet with hand-written tube designations and the original stamped serial number from’63. The tube compliment includes mostly vintage valves, with a matched pair of properly biased Hammond 6V6 power tubes. The chrome faceplate is quite clean, with the majority of the original white silkscreened text intact and just a speckling of light surface patina. All of the original knobs are present too. The original Blue Diamond tolex is extremely well-kept, showing only very minor edge wear and one small tear through the material on the lower right corner with a spot of blue marker touchup. The stock metal corners, feet, and raised Ampeg logo are intact, and the handle is original. The original two-button Reverb/Tremolo footswitch is included.
