Vintage Tube Amp

I’m letting go of a few things from from my collection, including this Masco MA25 vintage tube amplifier project. These make killer guitar amps! The exterior case is in heavily worn condition, but the amp itself is solid – needs typical updates like new. Servicing, desired mods/conversion, and tubes.

VINTAGE Ampex TUBE Speaker Amplifier Model A-692 POWERS UP. I plugged the amp in and it powers up and the tubes light up. I plugged an electric guitar into the “Tape” jack but could not get any sound out of the amp. Amp case still looks good. It is missing one of the knobs. In the last 2 photos you can see that the amp powers up with the pilot light on and the tubes lit up. This amp is heavy, 30 pounds.

I do a lot of business with them and they always have well cared for gear. Not saying it won’t need adjustments but, it looks like a nice clean unit. Everything you see in the pictures is what is included in this lot. Photos are the best description. Please look at all pictures closely before purchasing. We will document any damage the best we can but the photos will always be the best way to exam the item. Items may need a more in depth cleaning. We will do our best to clean every item, although sometimes we can’t do a full thorough clean. Message us for additional photos or questions. We of course will get them out as fast as we can. It is a case of vintage electric guitar tube amplifier repair parts: resistors, capacitors, some tubes. I got them from a long-time professional musician and repairman. I have not tested the tubes. My guess is they’re good, but I’m not certain. They come in an old Sears & Roebuck metal parts cabinet.

Removed from service several years ago. Replaced all electrolytic capacitors. View last images showing before and after. First time turning on was with variac control. Ran for 1/2 hour and noticed one top mounted capacitor failing so replaced all. The chassis mount caps were left for aesthetics, but are disconnected. The failed cap has been repaired enough to show as original. Tubes have been checked on a Hickok TV-7 tester and values marked on them.

I’m letting go of a few things from from my collection, including this Audiotronics model 300 vintage tube amplifier amp project. Will make a killer guitar amp. If you like the Filmosound stuff, and single-ended amps, this one is great, rare and has a cool look with that front panel, just tweak the circuit and add your preferred controls. Has nice Triad power transformer, good sized output transformer, 6×4 rectifier, 6bq5 (el84) power tube, and a 6av6 preamp tube. Looks to be in stock form. Not currently in a working state.
