This Heathkit EA-2 was tested with a MP3 player into the crystal cartridge input and it sounds great! Of course, it sounds better in person! You’ll notice when it’s turned off, it kind of fades away as the capacitors discharge and the tube filaments loose power! The filter caps have been changed as you can see. There are a couple mods done by the previous owner. One is the addition of an output jack for a recorder (see close up pic), the other are diodes on the 6X4? Tube socket so the tube is not necessary. Looks like all you have to do is remove the diodes and a tube can be used again (see close up pic). Cosmetically it’s very nice showing just some minor wear. It may or may not work at all when you get it!
