Up for sale, a 1960s Echo Twin-Amp 45 vintage piggyback tube amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Exceedingly rare outside Japan and manufactured by Miyuki Ind. , this Echo amp was designed to capitalize on the success of Fender’s larger Blackface era amplifiers, yet has a sound all its own and actually more akin to a Music Man, with a EL34-based power section. Fully serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, this Twin-Amp 45 features 45 watts of all tube power, a closed back cabinet design with original pair of alnico 12 drivers, and built-in Tremolo and spring Reverb. Channel One is designated the Reverb/Vibrato channel and is sonically more. On the scooped side, with a present top end cut and a taut bass response. The Reverb has a lush, splashy character, and the Tremolo controls have a wide sweep and particularly deep chop when required. Channel Two has a bit more power and punch, with a fat low end, a wooly low midrange character, and smooth treble. The tag board circuit has been thoroughly recapped with brand new Sprague Orange Drop capacitors, and the original power and output transformers are intact, while the reverb driver is a replacement. The chassis itself is quite clean, and the black silkscreened faceplate has its full compliment of original large barrel knobs. Remarkably, the complete matching set of original Matsushita tubes is also intact. Inside the cabinet, the original stock 12 speakers are present with clean frames and viable original cones. Taking its cues from its Fender contemporary, this Twin-Amp 45 features smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth that has aged over the decades. Aside from some minor scuffs and edge wear, there is very little wear to report, and this Echo Twin-Amp 45 is not only rare, but completely serviced. The Reverb Unit has been removed from this amp. The way this reverb used to function is that it had alligator clips that you would have to connect to another power source (amp) and than it would function. A little confusing and not that practical. Sometime in it’s past someone took the reverb out. Warm & Lush 1960′s Classic Ampeg Tone. Utah Speaker sounds great. Perfect amp for gigging as well as recording. Light, Compact and Portable. BEAM ECHO , Two vintage Avantic DL7-35 vacuum tube amplifiers, complete with transformers, and existing parts and hardware. These original beauties are known for their high quality. The transformers offer superb sound. I heard these amps in the early 2000s. They are currently unfinished project amps and require some assembly– plus tubes. The original owner intended to convert them for use with 6L6 outputs instead of the standard EL34 tubes. But, the project was put on hold and never completed. Please note the photos showing the two amps and their parts in the detailed photos. The first six photos are of amp #1. Amp #2 is shown in photos 8 through 12. Photo #6 shows the parts. This is a DIY project. The amps can be made to accommodate either EL34 or 6L6 output amplifier tubes. No tubes are provided. American 60 cycle, 120 volts. These Beam Echo monaural amplifiers use the Mullard 5-20 circuit (for the EL34 tubes) made without cutting corners, to full specification. Also, of note– the EICO HF35 uses the same design. The condition of the covers on each amplifier is excellent with the original paint intact, but with minor light scratches, one small dimple and some minor paint loss on both covers. Finished packing weight (Two Boxes) is under 72 lbs. The two Beam Echo amps will be combined and placed into two 16×14.5×12.5 inch Boxes, fully protected and insured for safe arrival.
