Vintage Tube Amp

Up for sale, a 1964 Gibson Falcon GA-19RVT combo tube amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order. The early Crestline-era Falcons are great sleepers, as they feature nearly identical circuitry to the more sought-after Tweed-era Gibson amps. Cleans are clear and bouncy, and the Falcon is the perfect amplifier for small club gigs and studio sessions with a smooth, harmonic rich overdrive when opened up. The Reverb is quite lush, and the Tremolo has a nice pulse with a good range of speeds. A single channel design, controls consist of Loudness (Volume), Tone, Reverberation, and Depth and Frequency knobs for the Tremolo. The original footswitch is included, and features a separate on/off switch for both the Reverb and Tremolo effects. The circuit retains its original transformers which all date to 1964, and the circuit is extremely original with just a few capacitor substitutions to ensure optimal functionality. The power cable has been upgraded to the modern three-prong variety. The tube set includes the original matching RCAs in the preamp, the stock RCA rectifier and a modern matched pair of JJ-branded 6V6 power tubes. The stock Jensen C12R 12 speaker is intact, dating to the 32nd week of’64. Cosmetically, this amp is in great shape with the original dark gray textured covering and two-tone grillcloth, showing only light wear on the enclosure edges. The original Gibson badge and luggage-style handle are also intact. The aluminum faceplate shows light surface patina with clean graphics and original reflector cap knobs.

HAS BEED TESTED AND WORKS BUT DEFINITELY NEED TO GO TO AN AMP TECH FIXED. DOES MAKE SOUND AND REVERB SEAMS TO WORK BUT NOT THE TREMOLO FOR SOME REASON. APPEARS TO HAVE THE ORIGINAL SPEAKER AND FOOTSWITCH WITH IT. LOOKS LIKE CORRECT TRANSFORMERS IN IT BUT A DIFFERENT REVERB TANK NOT SCREWED DOWN. HAD FOR MANY YEARS AND NEVER HAD IT REPAIRED. I DONT HAVE THE BACK PANEL EITHER WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT UOU GET. COOL OLD AMP DESERVES TO BE FIXED UP AGAIN. CHECK OUT MY OTHER GOODIE’S IN MY STORE.

Amp was JUST serviced, a few resistors were replaced, and the power cable was upgraded to a modern 3 plug cable… The replaced components and original power cable will be included with the sale. Cool vintage tube amp. Warm tone opposed to most Gibson Falcons you hear. Tone sucking components were removed. Gibson logo is chipped off partially. Cabinet is made out of redwood. The faceplate is rusted a lot, but all text and images are readable. On/Off switch and pilot light have been replaced. Speaker is a Jensen C12RC (original is Jensen C12R). Three prong power cord. Output Bias tremolo and reverb are amazing. Like fender brownface tremolo and blackface reverb put together. Takes pedals well, and breaks up around 7 or 8. We have a vintage 1960s Gibson Falcon Amplifier. I cannot say for sure that it functions at 100%. I plugged a guitar into it and it played. Seems to be if fair condition for its age. Amp is Not working. I do not know what all is wrong, or what will need replaced. I was going to try to restore this for myself, but i know nothing about electronics, and came to my senses.. This only gets a very very loud hum from speaker when turned on. When all knobs are full blast you can hear a little bit of guitar under the loud hum. Two knobs are missing. Also the footswitch is missing. That’s extent of my testing and knowledge. I believe this is from 1963 based on the Jensen speaker, the red arrow knobs, and the bark type Tolex. Serial is 770239 What is shown is included. All of my items are untested from estate sales. They have not been cleaned thoroughly, they may have broken, missing, or damaged parts. All items are pre owned and will have imperfections from age/use. I sell as is for parts/repair. Any rulers, tape measures, or other objects used for size or display are not included.
