This is a Vintage 1950′s Bell & Howell Filmosound 385 Custom Tube Guitar Amp Speaker Cab Project. It is in excellent cosmetic condition with light wear from use and age. The amp worked when it was last in use. The tubes are used and may be original to the amp, I have not tested the tubes for strength and they may need to be replaced. This is for the amp shown only. Filmosound open back 179 vintage style project. Empty unfinished open back pine head. Cabinet is 16” wide x 9” tall x 7-1/4”deep. Chassis is not included. The front control is removable. These are sample photos similar to the cabinet you will recieve. Please let me know how you will be finishing this cabinet so I can make the proper space allowances for vynal covering , piping and grill fabric , or a natural finish and so forth. Please note : This cabinet will need further sanding and prep work prior to a natural finish. The vintage tube amp you see in the photos is not included. Is made of 1/2” birch plywood and the control. Opening is 8-1/4″ wide x 1-3/4” and sets back 5/16″. I take a lot of pride in every cabinet I build as you will see when you receive the cabinet. I do not stock any cabinets and I make them as the order comes in. I have fabricated thousands of cabinet and sell them all over the world. I do not have all the big overhead that these big companys have , thus I pass the savings on to you. All the cabinets I build are fabricated in my shop , one at a time , out of 3/4 pine that I select and assembled using strong beautiful halfblind dovetail glued joinery. On this cabinet , the front panel is made of 1/2 baltic birch. I then router the exterior corners so you can easily install standard corner protectors if you so choice. Please note : will need more sanding and prep work prior to a natural finish. Please send me your inquire and I will try to answer it as best I can. Vintage Bell & Howell PP 25L6 MonoBlock Tube Amp from Filmosound 179, Amplifier. Condition is Unknown, but they all look good. I have four available. Check my other auctions if you want more than one! You had better know what you are doing when working on these! I generally bring these up on a variac very slowly to re-form the caps and often find them to need very little to make them functional. Tweak the circuit to your personal taste, of course! Includes all tubes, but not a power cord… You’ll really need to convert these to a 3-prong grounded cord for safety anyway! This listing is for a Pair of Vintage 1946 Bell & Howell PP 6V6 MonoBlock Tube Amps, Model 14027, from two Filmosound 179 Projectors. The date codes on the power transformers read 138613 and on the output transormers we have 138613 snd 138544. The serial numbers are 121142 and 122467. We take all of this to indicate a production year of 1946. Pulled from two projectors that were removed from service and placed in storage. Both fuseholders are damaged, one of the photocell tubes has tape on it and there may be other flaws that we did not notice.. This is the only pair on the market – don’t let it get away!
