Heathkit AA-21D Stereo Germanium Solid-State Amplifier – Fully Restored, Excellent Working Condition. This Heathkit AA-21D stereo germanium solid-state amplifier is an increasingly rare piece of vintage audio history-especially in this condition. A great opportunity to add a properly restored classic to a serious vintage audio collection. The amplifier has been completely restored internally and is in 100% working order. All electrolytic capacitors replaced with modern, high-quality audio-grade units. All carbon composition resistors replaced with modern metal-film resistors. Output power transistors replaced with a matched set of New Old Stock (NOS) germanium devices. Original germanium transistors are now quite rare and often noisy; this matched set performs exceptionally well. Original power cord replaced with a modern 3-prong grounded cord for improved safety. Current limiter installed to reduce wear on the main power switch. Dial and indicator lamps replaced. All controls, switches, and potentiometers cleaned for quiet, noise-free operation. The unit has been thoroughly cleaned but does show honest signs of age. Cabinet is structurally solid. Scratches and visible cosmetic wear are present (please see photos for details). Area 51 is a warehouse discovery at Exit 51 – a meticulously preserved lifetime collection we’re honored to place into collectors’ hands. This is a vintage tube amplifier by Heathkit, identified by the original rear label as Model AA-191. The AA-191 is a low-power (3 watt) mono tube amplifier, commonly used in small hi-fi systems, educational labs, or as a preamp/driver in custom audio builds. The front panel features. Bass control (flat to boost). Treble control (cut to flat). Phono / Tuner input selector. The rear panel includes. Speaker output terminals (4? / 8? / 16?). Tuner and crystal (XTAL) inputs. Headphone (phones) jack. Original Heathkit model and serial label. This unit comes from a large private estate of a meticulous original owner, where electronics were stored indoors as part of a carefully preserved lifetime collection. Untested (no power applied). Metal chassis shows surface wear, scratches, and age-related marks. All control knobs present with wear. Power cord present with age discoloration. Rear label present and legible. Internal components visible through ventilation slots. No testing, cleaning, or servicing performed. Unit stabilized to prevent internal movement. Please review all photos carefully.
Recapped as needed, tubes changed as needed Case very nice as face, knobs good with some coloring on centers. Overall a pretty clean unit, have a nice matched pair on bench now to be offered up shortly.

This is a HeathBuilt, same as HeathKit, but it’s factory built quality (not built by some electronics noob who probably can’t solder, sorry not sorry ;). Vintage HEATHKIT A-9C Mono Tube Amplifier Untested No Bottom Plate Tubes & Cord. The power cord has been cut and some parts have been removed (not by me). There is NO bottom plate underneath the device so the wiring is exposed. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out.
There is just one tube included a 5R4 rectifier. Just acquired a massive lot of gear, will not be spending time per unit to acquire parts/tubes and/or have serviced. May work amazing, may need parts, service, repair, restoration, calibration etc. Will be packed well, but will be expensive.
