Vintage Sherwood S5500 ii Integrated Tube Amplifier W/ housing. CLEAN W/Original Owners Manual as pictured. Cosmetically it literally looks like I got it off the show room floor! There are no scuffs or scratches on this unit nor is there anything wrong with it to my knowledge. I have only used aux 1 and phono inputs. The phono inputs are extremely powerful. Volume knobs have been cleaned with electro wash, but other than that that’s all I have done to the unit! I have ran the unit at a 4 ohm and an 8 ohm load and unit performs great. This unit is a tube amp and you get a true 64 watts. I recommend turning the Gain up a little over half way and using the loudness knob to adjust volume. This unit has a lot of bass and can cause a tube rumble if the turntable is on the same shelf as the amplifier. I will make sure to professionally pack this amplifier and box it up with all precautions taken. I will have the tubes labeled with drawings showing which location the tubes have been previously operating in. I will also individually pack each pre amp tube and the two smaller output tubes and have them labeled. Up for sale here is this neat vintage Knight integrated tube amplifier, from 1956 and Made in USA. This is a mono amplifier. This is used with moderate to heavy wear and some rust/corrosion, and has an incredible patina. This has no bottom cover or top cover/cage. I believe this normally uses a 5Y3GT rectifier, two 6V6 output tubes, two 6SN7 tubes, and one 6SL7 tube (far left). The three potentiometers in here are 1956 Stackpole 1 meg potentiometers, and are probably audio taper. These are worth a lot by themselves. This has one wire underneath that is not connected, so I did not test this. Also, the AC cord has a bit of damage and should probably be replaced. This should be fully rebuilt in order to work properly. It will be an amazing amp once it’s done. Please see my pictures for details. If you have any questions, please ask. Vintage EICO model HF-20 mono integrated tube power amplifier, WITHOUT cage. It dates from approximately 1958, and is in original as-found condition with wear and cosmetic issues consistent with its age. The 2-prong power cord is fairly stiff and the strain relief grommet where it enters the chassis has crumbled. The AC receptacle on the rear panel labeled “Phono Power” is chipped. There is a small gouge at the center top of the screening on the rear panel where it once indicated “HF-20″ as shown. All electrical components appear to be original. Note that there’s a crease in the top of one of the multi-section electrolytic capacitors as shown in pics. There is some minor corrosion on the end bells of the output transformer, and some flaking of the finish around some of the mounting screws on the top of the chassis. The knobs have various scratches as shown. The tubes used are a mix of RCA, GE, Tung-Sol, Realistic, and Groove Tubes, and are types: 6L6GC/5881, 12AX7-ECC83, 12AU7/A, and 5U4GB. NOTE: This amplifier was briefly tested at line voltage and idled without incident or excessive hum through an 8-ohm speaker. A Sony Discman CD player was connected to the “Phono-2″ RCA input on the rear panel, and it played to a comfortable level. The EQ controls appeared to affect their respective frequency ranges. As this is a 60+ -year-old electronic device, no guarantee is being made as to its operating condition or specifications. It should be presumed that it could be in need of restorative or repair work to perform as intended. I believe this normally uses a 5U4GB rectifier, two 6L6 output tubes, two 12AU7 tubes, and one 12AX7 tube (goes under the tube shield). This has been worked on previously and has some new parts underneath. I tubed this up and brought it up on a Variac, and it does work and play music, but there is a fairly loud hum in the background, probably from those old can capacitors. This should be fully rebuilt in order to work properly. It will be an amazing amp once it’s done. I will guarantee the transformers to be good. Please see my pictures for details.
