VINTAGE 1961 GIBSON GA8T GIBSONETTE AMPLIFIER 12 JENSEN ALNICO SPEAKER. This is an original 1961 GIBSON amp good working amp with the original 12 Jensen special design alnico magnet speaker. The tubes are 2- 6BM8 power tubes, one is a Amperex the other a Westinghouse. The rectifier tube is a Sylvania 5V4 and the single pre amp tube is a 12 B27 I don’t see a name on it. Up for sale, a 1959 Fender Tremolux amplifier in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the stock “doorstop” wooden footswitch. One of the most tonally distinctive and sweet sounding amps of Fender’s late 1950s “narrow panel” Tweed era, the Tremolux essentially combined the tonal richness and dynamic, touch sensitive circuit of a 5E3 Deluxe with a bias-based footswitchable tremolo. Powered by a pair of 6V6 power tubes, this Tremolux has the same harmonic content, smooth tube breakup and glassy tone of a Deluxe, but the significantly larger open back cabinet on a Tremolux gives the tone more depth, low end and roundness overall. Like any four-input Tweed Fender, the magic really happens when you jumper the two channels and use the independent Volume controls to dial in the perfect amount of clarity and grit. With the addition of Fender’s earliest tremolo circuit (a bias based design that essentially turns on/off the power tubes to create the effect), the Tremolux is a versatile and impressive amp, delivering a trem circuit with a strong pulse and good range of speeds. The circuit is completely stock and untouched, with all of the original yellow Astron tone caps in the preamp, along with the original pots, carbon comp resistors, and cloth wire. Even the original Mini Mite Astron caps are present, along with the stock gray two-prong power cable. All of the original transformers are intact with late’59 date codes, and the pots date to the 50th week of’59 as well. The chassis itself is particularly clean, with chrome plating that has ample shine and virtually all of the original white silkscreen lettering intact. The original chickenhead knobs are all present as well. The speaker is the original Jensen P12Q, rated at roughly 35 watts and the perfect match for the output of the Tremolux which is decidedly more modest than what the speaker can handle. The teal frame is quite clean, with clear date stamps, intact bell cover and original Jensen label. The tube chart is also present on the inside of the cabinet and a particularly nice example, with an “IL” date stamp that translates to December of 1959. All of the original hardware is intact including the elusive leather handle. Other stock hardware includes the “Tremolux” badge on the face and four sphinx glides (feet) on the bottom. The original tweed is intact and as the photos show, it is in particularly nice shape, with sparingly little wear around the corners. The original oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe is also intact and well preserved and this is a particularly tidy vintage example with tweed that has aged to a light shade of amber. This Tremolux is a clean, no-excuses, collector-grade example with a stock circuit, clean chrome faceplate, original tweed, and stock brown single button wooden footswitch. Vintage 1960′s Univox grey tweed guitar tube amp with matching tremolo pedal- one 12 inch Jensen special design speaker, 5 tubes. Volume, tone, tremolo speed with pedal, guitar & aux inputs, everything works. The cabinet looks good with standard wear, no tears in the grillcloth. The front wood has standard wear, wood chips and a little fraying of the cloth on the bottom. The univox name has long been missing but my expert vintage amp repair man identified it. Very cool working tube amp from the 60′s with a great vintage look. There is a nice demo of one on youtube under Univox test, it is a 26 second clip with also some specs. Vintage 50s Gibson Gibsonette Tube Amp. Powers up and plays! Knobs had some scrachy to them when I tested the amp. I personally cleaned them with contact cleaner… They function as they should. At a lower to mid volume the amp sounds amazing. When you exceed the mid mark on volume… It does start surging/poping. This is an awesome piece. And having it seviced for reliability is part of owening one. Great peace for the true colector! Not many good survivors left! Due to the age of this amp…. I leave you to judge the over all pysical condition. So please study the pics. Carfully to note its pysical flaws. It will have tears and worn spots… ITS GOT THE FEW TIPYCAL cigarette Burns To The Top. Also shown in pics. Appears to be pretty much all original. As main part of this items condition / discription. Up for sale, a 1958 Premier model 76 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Produced by Multivox-Premier in New York during the golden age of the electric guitar, the 76 model was a revolutionary for its time two-piece suitcase design. This two-channel amp is extremely original and also fully serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar to ensure optimal reliability and tone. Via the original Jensen field coil F12Q speaker, this amp delivers w. Arm, polite cleans with a bit of spank, but where the amp really thrives is when the Volume and Tone controls are dimed out. The overdrive this amp can deliver is astounding, with h. Uge saturated crunch that barks and spits with the best. The low end stays tight and the distortion is rich and dynamic. As an added bonus, the second channel features a tremolo circuit which. Goes quickly from subtle to full on square wave chop and cut, stuttering like few tremolo circuits can when you turn up the Intensity knob. The circuit retains the original transformers and all of the original pots as well, with a true point-to-point wired design. Both the preamp and power amp have been expertly recapped as necessary, leaving original components whenever possible and only swapping components when they ceased to function. The two halves of the amp connect with the original umbilical cable, and the original two-prong power cable is also intact. The Jensen speaker has a flawless deep green frame, original cone, and date code from early 1958. Cosmetically, the amp is extremely clean, with a polished brass faceplate with immaculate silkscreen graphics and a complete set of original (and colorful) bakelite knobs. The faux woodgrain and mustard covering on the amp is quite a bit more fragile than Fender tolex or even tweed, yet has remained completely intact along with the original black rubber feet and leather handle. Up for sale, a 1959 Fender Deluxe in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A golden era narrow panel tweed amp with an incredibly detailed and dynamic range of tones, this amp is loaded with a full compliment of vintage tubes. At low volumes this Deluxe can deliver sparkling cleans that are round and powerful, with two distinctly voiced channels that overdrive beautifully. There’s plenty of rich roar and sizzle on tap when the amp is pushed to its max, and the single tone knob has ample range for sculpting the low end or adding treble zing. Especially when connecting the two channels with a small jumper 1/4 cable, the interactive pair of Volume controls can dial in everything from fully saturated snarl to particularly sweet, buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite that you often times can’t coax out of any other Tweed circuit. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals and different guitars, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using your volume knob to coax clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob. The circuit is virtually untouched, with original transformers, undisturbed solder joints, and CTS pots that date to the 6th week of 1959. Of course all of the famed yellow Astron capacitors are present in the preamp as well, giving the amp a certain sweetness that no modern cap can match. The power amp has been professionally recapped, and the new F&T capacitors are fitted in the original Minimite sleeves for a clean, original look. The tubes include a matched pair of Serviceman 6V6s with a General Electric 5Y3 rectifier and USA-made valves in the preamp too. The original gray two-prong power cable is also present. The stock Jensen P12R alnico 12 speaker is present and has a clean teal frame, stock bell cover and Jensen label. On the edge of the frame, the speaker has a 220847 date code for the 47th week of 1958. The tube chart is intact and extremely clean, with paper that is barely faded, crisp corners, and an “IC” code, dating the amp to March of 1959 (the latest date on the amp). The chrome on the chassis is particularly clean, with all of the original white lettering present on the faceplate, along with stock chicken head knobs. Even the original handle is included and unbroken with only a bit of fraying on the ends. The original tweed is intact and notably well kept, with only minor wear on the corners, and a bit of light staining and a stray cigarette burn or two on the top. The back panels are modern replacements, carefully aged to match the original tweed on the enclosure. This is a remarkably clean and stock 1959 Tweed Deluxe that will please discerning collectors and serious studio players alike!
